The Brick

When you walk in here expect to be followed by sales people and bothered. There’s more salespeople over customers and they work on commission. They will try to push the warranty on you and if you know what you want they will try to sell you something else. I’m happy with the price we paid for what you get. When you buy Brick furniture you don’t expect a long life out of it. Just prepare yourself before walking in that you wont be left alone.

Saleswoman was nice but I had to go to the warehouse to pick up my purchase. (Coffee table & end tables) When I brought it home I found one of the legs was missing a part so I went back. Customer service was clueless & there was no spare parts in store. Their solution was for me to pack up all the parts & go back to the warehouse for an exchange or go rummage through another box for the part I needed at the warehouse. What a joke that the mistake is on their end & they want me to go through the trouble of correcting it.

— employees do not process paperwork on time or at all, therefore delivery of a 3 week late item is delayed even longer, and is only fixed because the customer by chance called The Brick back to clarify on the date.
— Been told many dates for products, stating those dates were 100% correct meanwhile they were wrong which lead to furniture being delivered even later. If they’re not 100% sure on a delivery date, then say so, don’t lie to the customer.
— Ordered 3 items from this location and all 3 items I’ve had an issue with quality and delivery
— Go somewhere else — choose a different Brick.
— Not 100% on their customer service number either, considering I called 4 times for the same issue in one day and everyone said it was fixed but every time I called back, I received the same answer that there was nothing on record of what I was talking about.

If there was a zero star, I would go for that. The worst experience EVER! The customer service is ridiculous and its staff were very rude and impolite. It took me 5 deliveries, 10 phone calls and 3 weeks to get what I had paid for. The sets were damaged, wrong items were delivered, etc. Unbelievable! Stay away from this store! You will regret your purchase!

The Brick is all about selling affordable furniture that «looks» nice, so you really want to go to their web site and do some research on the products before you go since there is a large degree of variance in the quality. You want to know exactly what you are getting before you go to the showroom.
I purchased the Jagger sofa, loveseat & chair which is one of the few 100% genuine leather products they sell, which means the entire sofa is genuine leather including the back and sides. If it only says «genuine leather» it is only leather on the cushions and front. The regular price was not much more than the less quality models & I got a sale price of 20% off.
I also purchased the Mindy table with 4 chairs which again, is fairly good quality in that price range and I really like the look. Lastly, I bought the Tyler bed which i am happy with as well. They did give me a reasonable discount for buying a large amount of furniture, which I really appreciated.
My experience: because of my own extensive research, I actually knew far more about the product’s details such as materials and construction than the salesman so there were no surprises on what I was getting. The delivery system isn’t great. The 1^st delivery they brought everything except the headboard for the bed which they forgot and for some reason would now be on back order for 2 weeks. The 2^nd delivery, they showed up 3 hours earlier than the scheduled window, but fortunately I was home. Even though they were supposed to put my bed together, they were on a tight schedule and just dropped it off and left. Fortunately, they called back 15 minutes later, and since they had a cancellation would come back & put my bed together, which they did.
I had to take back a metal support the salesman had sold me on since the delivery guys informed me it was incompatable with the bed I had purchased and unnecessary. The wait at the desk was long, I was ignored for about 10 minutes, then «interrogated» on why I was bringing it back, this took a good 20 minutes to finally be refunded by not very friendly or pleasant staff.
The bottom line is, the customer service is not great — if you go too cheap, the quality and durability is not going to be very good, so if your budget allows — you can get decent stuff at the Brick that looks great and will last. Just don’t have really high expectations on the service.

I know that The Brick sometimes gets a bad rap online and through word of mouth, but I honestly had a very positive experience. My fiancée and I had needed a new mattress /​box spring for a while and though we didn’t want to spend a fortune on one we still wanted a quality brand that was comfortable, came with a good warranty and would last us at least a few years. After a lot of online shopping at different stores we popped into the Mississauga location on Dundas Street to see a set that we were strongly considering. The associate (Michelle) who came up to us was very friendly and helpful but not pushy and aggressive as is often the case with furniture, large appliance or electronics sales. We did go with a slightly more expensive set than originally intended (entirely our choice) and a frame that she recommended. We hadn’t intended to purchase it but she successfully upsold us (as is her job) without selling us an extra item we didn’t need or a mattress we could really afford. We also signed up for the Brick Card (her suggestion) in order to save the shipping. At my request we were given the exact credit limit required, no more, no less. The entire process couldn’t have taken more than half an hour.
As for delivery, we were told that someone would call us Sunday (the day it was to be shipped) to give us a window of delivery. They called exactly when I was told they would and the delivery arrived right in the middle of the three hour window. The drivers were very friendly and efficient, asked if I wanted my frame put together (I said yes) and took our old mattress and box away. This took no more than ten minutes.
After all is said and done we only ended up going to one place to look for our new bed and bought it on the spot. While perhaps we could have shopped around, it may just have been a waste of time. We got what we wanted, paid what I think was a pretty fair price and had an experience that was entirely hassle-​free. My only regret is that the mattress is a little firm for my liking (my fiancée prefers it that way) but that’s not really their fault. At any rate, I’ve gotten used to it and it’s so far, so good. I also don’t regret purchasing the recommended frame with added support. In hindsight it was probably a good investment and will prolong the life of the mattress by ensuring that the thing doesn’t begin to sag in the middle after only a few years.
Despite all the horror stories I’ve heard regarding The Brick, we have no complaints whatsoever. Will definitely go back and was more than happy with the delivery.

The delivery system here is a freaking joke… don’t waste your time or money on setting it up with them, just hire a private moving crew so you can get your furniture when you want it instead of letting some delivery guy tell you when you’re getting it
