Le Meridien Versailles

Stayed here for one night due to a flight cancellation. Seems that the rooms were all recently renovated and the one we had was very nice, clean and modern.
Never been to Montréal, so can’t say if this is a good location in relation to the city sights, etc.

I like this place. This is the most west (south?) on Sherbrooke that I’ve stayed in my visits to Montréal, but this place still did the trick quite well.
The lobby is small, and the attached restaurant had an event going on inside so I can’t vouch for that, but with the purpose of being a place to sleep at night — this place worked out nicely.
My stay in town was just for one night this time so my needs were minimal, but I did find the bed comfortable, the rooms well styled and rather spacious, and the expected amenities of an iron and fridge that I require were there. I was pleasantly surprised to find an in room safe, which in this case I didn’t need to put it to use, when staying multiple days its a nice perk to have.
The shower had nice water pressure as well and I really can’t find any flaws with my stay. The only reason I’m not going to throw in a 5^th star is because its not really a 5 star hotel, and there is no pool (I loves me a good swim in the morning). But that said, it’s a safe bet for a good nights sleep so don’t hesitate in booking here if you can overlook the lack of pool.

Loved staying here. Met the hotel manager and general contractor and every single room has now been upgraded. Great location within 2 blocks of he raw foods and vegan part of town where there are 4 places next to eat other on Mackey street.
In addition, it’s a beautiful walk to the museums, crescent st., and st. Catherine’s. I would definitely stay here again.

We were staying on SPG points and were upgraded a penthouse suite without asking. The suite was large, with a separate living area and bedroom. The room was clean. The hotel is also clean, and the staff were very friendly and professional. We streamed movies with no problem on their wireless network (no charge). I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here for one night recently and I had previously stayed in the hotel ten years ago. It’s nice to see the rooms have been updated since my last stay in 2005. It’s a smaller hotel mostly adults and couples noticed during my comings and goings of my stay.
Pros of the hotel + :
* No pool on property = didn’t see any kids or babies on my visit. Less noise from kids or babies/​toddlers screaming.
* great location right on Sherbrooke near McGill University and a short walk from the main drag of Crescent, Concordia University and St Catherine’s.
* restaurant attached to the hotel with decent price of breakfast.
* short walk from Guy-​Concordia Metro
* lots of selection of excellent restaurants in the area.
* my one bedroom suite had a fridge which was nice.
* street parking is available if you are lucky and want to avoid the parking charge.
Negatives of the hotel — :
* no pool hot tub or sauna/​steam room. It’s nice at times when hotels have these to kick it back in at night time.
I remember clearly 10 years ago my wife had trouble sleeping because of the loud HVAC system. Amazing that in 10 years they haven’t improved the heating-​A/​C. It sounds like a helicopter or jet engine is running all night.
* parking is expensive at $ 27 for valet with in-​out privelages
* hotel is old. Sure it’s renovated but it does feel a lot like an weathered and worn building which has had minor but not major upgrades.
* very small lobby and not many areas to lounge around. Many exceptional hotel have lots of lounging sections with comfortable chairs.
* elevators are creaky and make some odd sounds going up or down… making you wonder if they are safe?
Overall I’d stay here again if need was to be in the area. If you are a family And like the Starwood hotels. I’d recommend the Sheraton Centre or the Westin.

Our stay was very positive. We had a nice romm on the 14^th floor. TV was not HD but you should go outside to explore the City. The lobby is pretty small but we are not there to stay in the Lobby. The staff was very friendly and professional. We didn’t eat at the Restaurant. Location is good. I would stay there again.

This was my first time in Montréal and I was extremely pleased with the service we were provided at this hotel! They got our bags from the car and brought them to the room so we didn’t have to go through the deep snow. They Valeted our car, and upgraded our room be said we were Starwood Preferred Guests. They called us a cab and took great care of us during our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay close to the Bell Centre!

I spent a night at The Meridien thanks to a free gift certificate I won from the amazing Unilocal team almost a year ago!
I booked it for the night of Friday October 10– we were granted a spacious deluxe room with king bed. The exterior and lobby of the hotel are by no means impressive but the newly renovated rooms are well decorated, modern and bright. We stayed in room 655 which had huge windows overlooking St Mathieu street and corner of Sherbooke.
PROS: centrally located, lots of space, free functional wifi, clean room, great toiletries (shampoo/​conditionner/​lotion/​showergel/​soap bar). I was particularly impressed with the conditionner, having very long hair, I was able to comb through and detangle in a breeze. Plus their products have a light citrusy, exotic smell. My bf said it reminded him of piña colada, so even though we were just on a staycation, I could picture myself somewhere tropical.
LOVE the cotton bathrobe, super comfy and made me feel like a VIP.
Bedsheets and towels were soft and smelled like crisp clean detergent.
CONS: AC automatically turns itself on and off after reaching a certain temperature– we couldn’t keep the room as cool as we would have liked.
Bathroom is tiny, there’s space for just one person to stand at the sink.
Flat screen tv is not HD, most channels appear blurry.
Despite the renovated room, there were cracks in the ceiling and wall (see my attached photos)
And this is the worse — If you’re a fan of firm mattresses, this bed will be a real nightmare. Much too soft, you sink in, almost impossible to sit upright and watch tv or read a book. Pillows were also mush.
Best description would be like sleeping on a huge marshmallow– sounds like fun at first, but it was a restless night as we were constantly tossing and turning. I sleep flat on my back and I kid you not, morning come, my body was bent into a V shape from sinking so deep.
In all, my personal preference for firm mattresses affected the quality of my stay but I would still recommend it for the location — steps from Guy Concordia metro, but not in the busy arteries, away from bars and clubs so it’s a quiet area if you’re looking for something relaxing.

Good location with friendly and helpful employees.
It was my first visit to Montréal and the front desk really made me feel welcome and suggested some good places to check out while in town.
What to Know:
–Just a few minute walk to Saint Catherine and about a 10 – 15 minute walk to Saint Laurent for dinner and nightlife.
–Free Wi-​Fi

The hotel is centrally located downtown Montréal. 5 minutes walk to subway .
We upgrade to junior suite .
Unfortunately the room is dated. The bathroom is really old .
The staffs are friendly. We stayed Le Meridian in Barcelona. It was way nicer
4 stars for location and staffs. 1 star for the room.

There is nothing Grand about Le Meridien Versailles.
The outdated room definitely on the smallish size. The bathroom is so small and closing the door can be quite tricky.
Free Wifi and the staff are all really friendly and helpful!
Location is a little away from the action but I do like to walk off my food and beers.
Staying here on cash and points is an OK deal.
I don’t mind staying at Le Meridien Versailles again if the price is right!

After 25 years of traveling all over the world, experience going back to the 1980’s under Air France with Le Meridien, and 5 years as a hotelier in my past life, never have i ever been more profoundly insulted, disrespected and disappointed by a hotel experience. This hotel is so miserably operated and in such miserable condition, it should not be part of Starwood, and it should not in any way be a hotel of Le Meridien’s supposed caliber. I am in shock at this experience, I’ve had problems in hotels before but nothing ever came close to this. I cannot believe this is not a regular recurrence at this property.
We were offered no assistance on arrival despite a request for help, we were sent off on the side of the hotel so that we «would not be in the way of the busses.» We had to pull two tired kids out of our car and carry five bags around the dark corner, up the ramp, through the double doors which my wife had to do with the stroller and injured my son’s foot in the process. This whole time 5 staff members watched from behind the front desk offering no assistance whatsoever. No greeting was extended, no smile, just what seemed like passive annoyance that has unfortunately so stereotypically been ascribed to my fellow french countrymen. I take offensive when others say it, these people give it truth. I asked the shabby, gruff man who had told my wife to get out of the way of the busses why no one came and helped us, where the valet was, where the bellman was, he rudely responded he would go park my car, turned his back and walked away with the most arrogant demeanor mumbling that «this is the way it is» and i retorted that this is not the way a professional hotelkeeper does their job, he left to go do god knows what because 20 minutes later, my car was still on the side of the hotel. I asked the woman at the front desk why no one helped us, that there should be some sort of welcome, a greeting, you would think after we had just indicated we were arriving that someone would come help us or at least open the doors as we came in. It is absolutely flabbergasting to me that a Le Meridien, a LE MERIDIEN, supposedly an urban, sophisticated hotel, would have such deplorable service. Her response was that we were supposed to leave everything in the car and they would then go get it for us. What? How would they know what to get? I would then have to walk 50 feet back out into the cold night to show these incompetents what i wanted out of the car? I said there was no indication of that and that this was not the level of service of a Le Meridien, her response was that i would «know next time.» So the bellman turns his back on me and tells me he basically doesn’t care, she says she doesn’t care and i should have figured it out like this is some hampton inn, and i’m going to come back? If there IS a next time was my response, she found that amusing and her demeanor made it clear she really just didn’t give a shit. Yes, i chose my words carefully, the woman just didn’t give a shit. I’ve worked with hundreds of hotel employees, these two should be terminated immediately. In fact the general manager should be terminated immediately for running this insane asylum. She kept repeating there was no problem as i questioned the service standards of the hotel, the very problem was that you had a guest that was legitimately upset and was being met with condescension and arrogance.
The physical plant of this property is absolutely horrid, the elevator is a shameful embarrassment, surely the SPG developer for Canada can find another property to flag in Montréal. Surely this isn’t the best we can do in the francophone western hemisphere. Is someone on the take? Whats going on here? It really makes no sense. I’ve already contacted your Development folks, i’ll get to the bottom of it for you.
The room reeks so badly of cigarettes that my wife and my 18 month old son have been coughing throughout the evening. Had we not arrived at 8:30pm, i would have changed rooms on the spot, but more likely gone to another hotel, the room has ripped wallpaper, terrible lighting, a rickety arm chair and just that well worn feeling you would expect in Abidjan, not Montréal.
