Too expensive for the quality of food you receive, I was highly disappointed in the price and quantity of the meal. the gravy was way too much and the fries are not very good BC of the amount of gravy on them, we got the bacon cheeseburger and the Triple pork… all very salty and very poor quality meats.

Amazing poutine. Went on a Saturday night at around 3AM with some friends and enjoyed the poutine thoroughly. Got the medium sized and it was more than enough. Fries were hot and fresh. Had the Fajita steak poutine :) The cook and the cashier were friendly and welcoming.

Really great food. Big portions. I split a meal size with my wife, and we wish we got the smallest size to split.

If you like Poutine you’ll like this little place. We tried the pulled pork poutine and it was delicious. There are at least 15 or 20 versions of Poutine available in 3 sizes. The snack size is certainly enough for one unless you’re really hungry. Would be nice if they had some other items on the menu. With only Fries or Poutine you really want something else as Poutine or fries aren’t really a meal.

So many choices so little time! I would have eaten here daily just to try the different kinds, but then would have needed a major diet. Come get the meal size and split it. Thats plenty. We had the pork and it was fantastic. I wanted to bring some cartons home in the luggage — yes ok thats a bad idea. Service wasnt anything special but you are coming to get amazing poutine so thats ok!

We got the pulled pork poutine and added mushrooms and onions. 12.99 plus an additional dollar to each toppings. We got the large size and was able to split it amongst 4 ppl It was good but almost too much gravy and too little cheese curd. The gravy made the fries soggy and not crispy anymore. Good snack but I am not sure I would come back again

I’m still unsure what«Poutine» is, is it the cheese curd or is it the curd, fries and gravy? Not sure, but In any event, delicious. For anyone who is unsure what«cheese curd» is, simple enough, it’s mozzarella!, that’s it! The only difference(I think) is salt is added to the curd before its called mozzarella, I may be wrong. We walked in to Smokes, looked at the menu, tons of variations, which is what had me confused. To clarify, each dish starts w/fries, curd and gravy, then the toppings are added. I asked the fella behind the counter what he recommends, he said bacon cheeseburger is the #1 seller, we opted for one large and a large pulled pork. Everything is very tasty and enjoyable at first, fries were the right size and cooked great. Toppings were really good. My issue came after we ate through the toppings, below was just fries(which were now soggy), curd(which melted nice) and lots of gravy. All in all, we all enjoyed Poutine and would go back if we found ourselves in the area again… Give it a try.

We were so shocked that no one was in here! I mean, it’s basically french fries in like 20 different ways! I would compare this to the Sweetie Fry that used to be on Lee Road in Cleveland, but that CLOSED. Anyway, we wanted to try something special to Canada and figured this place would be our best bet. Plus, we love french fries so adding any number of toppings to that just makes it oh so much better. After staring at the menu for a good 5 minutes, we ended up just ordering the traditional poutine(french fries with gravy and Quebec cheese curd). Well, we ordered the Wow size, which I definitely said«wow» when we got it. THATTHINGISHUGE. Seriously, we love our fries, but that thing could be split 4 way and all members would be satisfied. With two of us, we ate half of it and brought it back home. Not sure how well it will warm up later, with the fries slathered in that gravy. The food itself was good, a little on the salty side with all the gravy and the fries, but that is kinda expected. Note! They do not offer cups of water on the side if you ask. They only have bottled water and soda that you have to buy. After we ate all the cheese from the top, we got some ketchup to dip in to cut some of the salt for the rest of the fries. Check this place out if you’re in the area! Next time, I would get the snack size traditional poutine, and probably get one of the specialty ones in a bigger size — all to share, of course!

Absolutely wonderful! I’m so glad we stopped here and partook of a local«delicacy » lol. You can’t go wrong with fries, cheese curds, and gravy. And then Smokes adds awesomeness in the forms of meats, cheese, amd veggies… he will even let you build your own if ya have ever a good idea! I got the regular size bacon cheese burger one, but I’m pretty sure the snack size would have filled me up. Definitely would go back and recommend it to my friends!

Great poutine. Skin left on fries, cheese curds chewy and gooey. Gravy tastes homemade. Very amicable service helps describe poutine to the novices. Very cozy place, the hair metal is a nice touch

I demanded that I try some of the Canadian staple while at Niagara Falls. Lots of local chain restaurants had it on the menu, like Hard Rock, but I wanted something at least a little bit authentic. We wandered up Victoria Street past it’s many dining establishments to Smoke’s. Very small inside, but quick turnover rate as people shovel down their poutine and leave. I wanted traditional, but didn’t have enough time to peruse the menu and understand. I thought they only had specialty kinds, so I got Montréal. It had corned beef, mustard, and a pickle on top of the regular cheese curds and gravy. It was quite tasty. My boyfriend had the fajita poutine and enjoyed it also. I think I would’ve enjoyed the traditional style more, as mine had a lot of flavors going on. It was also cool to read the magazine and newspaper clippings about the place hanging on the walla, which apparently is a small local chain including food trucks. I enjoyed the experience overall and the owner was kind and helpful when ordering.

When in Canada, you have to at least try poutine… and it was delicious! I love gravy and I love fries, cheese curds were a new thing to me, but they weren’t too bad. For some reason, I was expecting them to be fried too, but they were soft! I got a build your own, and it was really good. The fries were still crispy and gravy had a good flavor. I got grilled onions which were delicious! I don’t know if there’s another poutine shop in the area, but Smoke’s is definitely good place to stop by! They have so many different combinations and if none of those work, then just build your own!

Really great poutine! Got the bacon cheeseburger and my boyfriend got the double pork. Both were delicious This is not a restaurant with table service. This is a chain restaurant, you go in order at the counter then pick it up when it’s called. Knowing this, we went for lunch before hitting some tourist spots. This review is solely on how good the poutine was. I’ve had poutine the day before too so I did have something to compare it to. The idea of having the meat mixed in took to up a notch. Def recommend

We must have walked by dozens of haunted houses to find this place! The staff was very patient as we decided what to order(ended up with a snack size traditional and a snack size veggie). I wish they’d offered more varieties in the snack size. The poutine was good, but I think in general it is a dish that is too salty for my taste. The location of the shop is great for people watching!

This Smoke’s location is in Clifton Hill and compared to the locations downtown it isn’t crazy busy. We showed up around 2:45am and there was around 5 people in the store. Saying that the poutine was really good, I had the cheeseburger poutine which was really filling but was one of the best poutine I have ever had in my life. So after you win some money at the casino, head over to Smoke’s and get a bite to eat.

Très bonnes poutines. Beaucoup de choix d’ingrédients. La moyenne suffit amplement. Bons formats pour tous les appétits. Prix raisonnable. Service rapide et courtois. Seul pétit bémol, il manquait de fromage en grain dans nos poutines. Je recommande ce restaurant pour diner.

American tourist, first time in Canada, and first time trying poutine ever. The family and I decided to go to Smoke’s because of an advertisement in a coupon book… and I was not disappointed in the food! The cashier was very helpful and patient while my group decided on our orders. I just wish that they could label the boxes somehow when we got our food, because the box is just STUFFED with goodness! After deciphering everyone’s order, we got to eating. Smoke’s poutines are not for anyone on a diet. You get hefty portions for a reasonable price(under $ 10). The fries are thick and drenched in gravy and cheese curds. The gravy could use more flavor, but it’s the toppings give each order a distinct twist to the poutine. I ordered the Hogtown poutine: Double-Smoked Bacon, Italian Sausage, Sautéed Mushrooms, and Caramelized Onions. They do NOT skimp on the toppings, and everything was tasty, even down to the last fry. I finished my food, but if you don’t, it comes served in a convenient take-out box. It may be a fast-food version of a Canadian dish, but I was very satisfied with my Smokes Poutine. Great service, convenient location, and a cozy dine in area that allows for fun people watching while you eat. I wouldn’t hesitate going to other locations, I had an awesome experience during my visit to Niagara!

Poutine is a Canadian dish that is said to have originated in Quebec, Canada. I first learned about it while watching an episode of the Bachelor(yes, I just admitted I watch reality TV). One of the contestants, Ashley Hebert, made such a big deal about this dish that I was inspired to try it at a local Atlanta restaurant named General Muir. The taste was okay, but honestly I didn’t get the hype. So of course I had to give it another try while visiting the Canadian side of Niagara Falls to get a basis for comparison. After asking a few locals where I could find the best poutine, I was directed to Smoke’s. The company was founded and created by owner Ryan Smolkin who describes poutine as being«as authentically Canadian as beavers, maple syrup & hockey.» Poutine is the ONLY thing they serve, so you can rest assure they are aiming to please. The restaurant is small and located on the front side of a motel. There are several types of poutine to choose from and since our family loves stroganoff, that was an easy choice. Generally speaking, poutine looks to me like a regurgitated hot mess. But Smoke’s adds a lot of style to their presentation. They’ve been blazing a strong trail across all of Canada since their debut and currently has U.S. locations in LA and Las Vegas. Hopefully soon they may consider Atlanta, Georgia! FINALTHOUGHT The favor was excellent and for the first time after many tries at other restaurants I finally see what the hype is all about. If you’re American, happen to drift across the border and have any desire to try this dish(maybe for the first time), I highly recommend Smoke’s!

Came here twice to eat Poutine! So, mom looked this chain up while we were still at home(we knew we would be without data and with very limited wifi) and we decided to go to this location. The first day we went, we got the cheeseburger poutine and a chicken with bell pepper poutine. Even though it appeared that there was only one person working, the service was very speedy and quick! I am assuming that everything is on an assembly line where they can quickly put the cheese, fries, gravy and toppings into the containers. The next day, with the sister in tow, we were hungry for a snack and came back for more poutine! We ended up getting the normal poutine and the pork. I would suggest that tourists start with a small regular poutine and the get something else adventurous. That way — you can taste the fries, gravy, and cheese before getting the toppings.

Located by a motel and not far from touristy Clifton Hill(or perhaps this area is still part of Clifton Hill?), we went to Smoke’s Poutinerie for our first taste of Canadian poutine. The staff was friendly, and the wait was not too long. We ordered the triple pork, which comes with pulled pork, bacon, and sausage. It was amazing! Very tasty, and the fries never got soggy even though we took our sweet time eating our order. It was also quite filling. The daughter(who is a big eater) and I split one order, and it was a challenge to finish it. Next time I am in Canada, I think I would opt to go to other places to try some more poutine, preferably from mom-and-pop places. This is not to say I was not happy with Smoke’s. It is only because I do not live in Canada and would like to try as many places as possible. Smoke’s Poutinerie was a great place to try Canada’s specialty for the first time. And now that there is one that opened not too far from me here in California, I would be happy to visit them again.
