The pizza looked great from the window. Nice big slices that looked freshly made. It was strange that once I got my big slice of pepperoni pizza there were only 4 slices of pepperoni in the centre of the slice – none around the edges. Very cheap. Pepperoni pizza should be loaded with pepperoni so that when you slice it, you should accidentally cut through some pepperonis. This was not the case. They were being cheap, and clearly made sure to put pepperoni only in the centre. The rest just had tomato paste smeared on it. Not pizza sauce. Tomato paste. Flavorless, boring, icky tomato paste. No salt. No pepper. I even looked closely to see if there were any specks of Italian seasoning in the sauce. I didn’t see any – I didn’t taste any either. As for the cheese, there was one small clump of cheese on a corner of the pizza slice, and it was flavorless as well, although the texture and color of the cheese were pleasant. The crust was severely flavorless as well. They say it’s made from whole wheat, but it literally tasted like water and whole wheat flour and baking powder. Nothing else. Maybe the pepperoni slices tasted good? I wouldn’t know because I gave my four slices to my toddler, who kept asking for more pepperoni after the four were gone… it wasn’t worth it to go back and get another slice for her, unfortunately. So I was disappointed, and so was she. This experience was such a let down because my daughter and I had been looking forward for quite some time to yummy pizza and ice cream on this rare trip to Lonsdale Quay. I gave two stars simply for the fact that they did have big, fresh slices of pizza; but, I took off three stars because the poor quality of the pizza just killed my desire to ever go back.

It is what it is. Not great pizza, maybe not even average, but it is conveniently located next to the seabus.

I wish my commute home from work would involve taking the Sea Bus from Vancouver because nothing would make my miserable day like catching the smell of Val’s pizza, located several feet away from the terminal. They serve different types of pizza but maintain a consistently good deal of $ 2! Back in Calgary the kind of pizza I get for that price either comes with bland toppings, water instead of tomato sauce, 4 – 5 dots of parm cheese, cardboard spit-sucking dough, and hateful judging looks. The one day I tried Val’s? I had their spinach, garlic, and feta.(WHYDOESN’T EVERYONEPUTGARLICINPIZZA) Sausage, peppers, and mushrooms. But were amazing it awoke the inner ninja turtle in me. My only grip with the place is that it doesn’t exist where I live. Harrrrrummmmphhh.

Great value and very convenient location. It might not have the most amazing storefront, but the pizza sure doesn’t disappoint. The beef with veggies(I forgot the name) is delicious. Pepperoni is alright, the cheese and sauce tasted a little odd. But overall a pretty good place for a quick bite

This little pizza stand seems like your average place to grab a slice before you hop on the seabus, but, the pizza here is surprisingly tasty. I’ve only ever had the vegetarian varieties, but it is a bit spicy and just enough saucy… and since it’s only a couple of dollars, it’s hard to go wrong. Val’s is always fresh, and the service is friendly and warm and feels it feels like a nice little mom and pop shop. So, if you need a bite on your way back to Waterfront Station, stop here!
