Bayview Village has no shortage of high-​end shoe stores. From sporty kicks and sensible crêpe soles at New Balance, to dressy numbers by Davids and Capezio, this mall has something for everyone-​er-​foot.
Ron White positions itself somewhere between fashion and function. Once upon a time, the store seemed to specialize in Mephistos; a clunky rubber-​soled shoe that retailed for $ 300-​$ 400. Pricey, but comfy as hell. A bit of a niche market, though perhaps well-​suited to the older crowd that graces the mall.
In recent years, they’ve expanded their product line to include more trendy brands, like Frye and Cole Haan. They’ve also ramped up production of their private label, which oddly, given their comfort-​based pedigree, is stiff and pinchy.
Limited stock and a more limited ordering policy make it tough to find the right fit, although salespeople are firendly and efficient.
If they have what you’re looking for, it’s a perfectly fine store… there’s just other places down the hall that do the same thing better.
