I thought it must be fate that this place stayed open even though there was a huge sink hole that opened in the ground a few hundred meters away. I had the donair shawarma and it was perfectly spiced, delicate and the wrap was light and crispy. I liked it so much I came back the next day and added a poutine. It was really good too, the gravy was tasty and the cheese curds were delicious. Would recommend, quick and friendly service too. Bravo.

I would never have thought to put these two things together, but somehow it works. Have I had better shawarma? Yes. Have I had better poutine? For sure (although it seems like everywhere in Ottawa & eastwards you can’t actually get BAD poutine whereas the opposite is true west of Ottawa). But these guys manage to do both very well and the sum of the two is more than the parts. Eating good shawarma and good poutine as part of the same meal is an experience that everyone should try at least once!
