This is a wonderful cozy little bookstore. Great selection for what the store sets out to be, and the man with the beard who sits in the window is really helpful. I’ve come in here for some economics and law books, the selection was okay for that, but they have better selection for other topics. You are sure to find something you like amongst the shelves! Decent prices, and hard to find classics, as well!

I started coming here when I was a student at UOttawa over twenty years ago, and have continued shopping for hard-to-find books for many years. The history section is really good, also fiction, Shakespeare studies, art, film and many more. Browsing the shelves here is always a pleasure – just make sure you don’t come when the students crowd the place in early September, otherwise you’ll feel like a sardine in a can.

Benjamin Books contains a lot of books that you won’t find in a regular bookstore. I had to come here many times during university to pick up books for courses. The owner is really knowledgeable and helpful. The bookstore is small, but full and even if you don’t come in looking for something, you will surely leave with at least one book. The clientsl is mainly students, due to the stores proximity to the University of Ottawa. Professors often send students to Benjamin Books in search of course material, so in the first few weeks of classes, it is best to shop early.
