What a great collection of books. As somebody interested in political science and economics, I was happy to find this gem of a bookstore in downtown Ottawa. It has a rich collection of titles. The place is a bit crammed but most independent bookstores are like this especially in downtown where space is premium. I was surprised I didn’t see more customers there. If you love to read and do not want to pay premium prices, this place is worth a visit. It’s like a treasure hunt; you never know what goodies you will come across. Independent bookstores are going the way of the dodo in the age of electronic reading, but I still like physical books.

I love this bookstore. It is crammed full of books, which are well organized considering how packed the place is. If you like a place with distinct charm and a kitty guard you should check it out

Have to agree with Bob T. Take a walk back 50 years to a tiny space crammed with books and a slightly eccentric, but knowledgeable owner. Books are classic and he serves academia, so few current drugstore books here. He can get anything. Traffic is more or less back to normal now(Feb 2014).

My favourite used bookstore, hands down. And only ten minutes brisk walk from my place. It is crammed with new and used books; the casual browser(me) as well as the university student are well served. Strong in philosophy, history, classics, literature, crime, and who knows what else. French books too. Mark will order a book for you if you request it. Summer 2013 finds the north side of Rideau St ripped up for several blocks, so be warned access to any business is difficult.
