This was the perfect setting to have a cup of tea with my bff after she returned home from some travels. True, as Amanda touched on, we didn’t have outstanding service, but I was okay with it since all I wanted was a tea and my friend’s company. I had a really delicious chai tea latte(can you tell it’s my warm beverage of choice?). It was super hot and had a good amount of foam on it, so clearly the barista knew what was up. Kelly G had a lovely-smelling lemongrass tea that she really enjoyed as well. I liked the atmosphere here; it’s very cosy. It really does feel like a neighbourhood coffee shop which I thought was lovely. It was particularly nice on a cold winter night, but perhaps the glow might fade during the daytime. I’ll have to stop by and see how their wifi is(Jana — I’ll score the password for you!). Like all Bridgeheads, I like that they’re socially responsible and how involved they are in the Ottawa community. When possible, I’ll always choose them over Timmies or Starbucks. #30DaysOfYelp 12⁄30

On the upside, I just had a chocolate pecan tart that was to die for good! This cat is definitely in the cream! While waiting for some friends to meet me here, I am having a too expensive iced coffee that’s only so-so, but it’s too hot today to have anymore regular coffee. The one downer is not being able to access their wifi without a password that I don’t know. Pity… !

I met up with a friend at this Bridgehead for some coffee, but once we got there, we decided against the coffee and got lemonade and a chocolate chip cookie instead. The cookie was under $ 2, but the lemonade cost me over $ 3 for what couldn’t have been more than two gulps worth, which I even ended up choking on. The service was so horrendous that we wanted to sit outside, rather than inside and feel awkward. When we ordered the cookie and lemonade, the barista at gave us the dirtiest look, which we assumed was because we weren’t ordering coffee or anything more than a few dollars. To me, business is business, and it wasn’t like it was very packed anyway, so I’m not quite sure what her problem was. All I know is that we really didn’t appreciate getting stared down while we looked at the board for drink options. She was even really rude as she was getting my drink — not so much in words, but definitely in her actions. She was pouting and stomping around like a child being made to do chores. On top of that, there was a guy standing next to her that obviously worked there but did nothing but lean against the counter the entire time, not saying or really doing anything at all. Not the best service! It completely put us off.
