I love a well made panzerotti and I love a well made Greek salad. I am also quite fond of a well made burger. I have tried all three at Southside Pizzeria and found all three sadly lacking. I also love good finger foods like deep fried mushrooms and mozza sticks etc. The finger foods including the onion rings are all very obviously frozen. I can buy the same foods at any local supermarket and heat them up in my oven. The marinara for dipping is canned and generic. The Greek salad that I ordered for takeout was a solid soupy mass of lettuce and the other ingredients. A big lump. The panzerotti was upon first visual inspection… an awesome looking treat. Golden to dark brown crust with a center of bubbling perfectly crusted cheese. My first impression was dashed to pieces as I dived into the mess. The bottom crust was soggy and almost raw dough. The middle was much cooler than the outside and the dough on top was almost burnt. A heavy stodgy mess. The burgers we ordered for takeout were dry and lacked generosity in toppings. The tiniest slices of tomato are used and lettuce is just as spare. In all fairness, I have not tried their breakfast or brunch offerings but I cannot help thinking that they are trying to do too much with too little. Friendly service with decent pricing but overall, I simply cannot recommend that you eat there.

So I’m sitting in the restraint right now and this useless couple is letting their kids run and scream everywhere. Even encouraging playing hide and seek around others people’s tables. The appetizers were good so far but the dinning experience has been ruined. As a restaurant owner. I would politely ask them to even mildly controll their children as they are disturbing everybody else in the establishment

It’s a particular type of pizza. It’s more like cheese with a piece of crust under it. So if you love a thick cheese on your pizza. This is the place for you! Literally like a slab of cheese. So it’s not my thing. But the toppings were fresh, plentiful and actually were made in house! Very impressed. They did on delivery forget our four dipping sauces. :’(but their party platter with 768904 pieces of deep fried goodness helped make up for it. Seriously so good. Super dry wings, my fave. Crisp and golden deep fried cheese, potato and seafood bites. Onion rings that were very greasy spoon delight. And the pizza rolls! Nom nom. Delivery was prompt as well! This is a nutritionists nightmare and after a night of drinking, exactly what a gaggle of drunks require. Would recommend this place over a chain every time while in Peterborough.

Southside pizza has by far the best pazzoroti in the city! Deep fried gooey goodness! Oh man, I want another one now but I’m still full from the one I ate last week! Seriously folks, these are great! The rest of their menu is great too! Would rather support a local business with good food then a chain with mediocre food anyday! Try the panzo… you wont be disappointed!

I’m a tattooist and sometimes I work past places being open except for fast food burger places and pizza places. I don’t overly LOVE chain pizza places, so driving by Southside Pizza on the way home, thought I’d give it a try. Their menu has EVERYthing on it. From a great selection of subs, to Pizza/Panzorotti, Crab bites, Zucchini bites for those Vegitarians, shrimp, steak, chicken, rib or combo dinners, many Salad selections with our without meat, Tacos, nachos, Poutine, SPECIALTY poutine, Sandwiches, Roasts made each morning, and it’s licensed as well. I decided to get the Panzorotti and snagged a shrimp dinner for he who waits at home. The panzo COMES with 6 topping, it’s deep fried, THEN brought out, sauce and cheese are put ONTOP and popped in the oven for a few minutes. It was massive!!! The shrimp dinner had TONS of shrimp, and since I was travelling 45 min from Peterborough to get home, got the baked potato, though I could have chose fries, onion rings, salads. Well THAT was a big as my foot! It was baked beautifully! The guy who served me, Brandon was amazing, witty, funny and friendly as hell and answered all my questions and helped me make selections that would travel well and still hold up, the girl who was cooking in the back kitchen should get kudos as well for cooking everything perfectly! Even the customers were friendly!!! One guys asked me while I was waiting what I was getting, and when I told him, raved on himself about how both choices are great! My visit was a night visit, I assume the standard is kept for the day shift workers as well. Their website shows that they also open at 9 for breakfast and from 9:30 til 1 Kids eat free! For a first visit, I MUST give this place 5 stars, hopefully they keep up the great service. I will be back there often, and have already called a couple people and told them about it even though it was 1 am! If the food continues to be that great, the 5 star choice I made will continue to sit right where it is! Once upon a time, as my Unilocal!review states, I doubt I’ll find a Pizza place again ever as good as GO! Pizza in Oshawa mainly because they taste great and you NEVER need to order extra cheese, it just comes that way… I WAS homesick for Oshawa BECAUSE no place could compare to Go, but sorry Go, you have NOW met your match!!! **** And btw… they deliver to if you are IN Peterborough!!! TONS of pictures of their food on Facebook, here: And you can follow and review them on FB here: UPDATE!!! They also have BuzzTime Trivia!!! And some regulars that play it nightly so you won’t be the only one in playing it!
