Specialties
We begin at 7:30 am every day; slicing, chopping, grinding, marinating, and more. We feel that our efforts make a difference customers can taste.
The daily soup is made every morning from scratch. Our salsa has never seen a can or bottle. Our salad dressings are homemade and virtually all of our meats are hand trimmed and portioned on the premises. Fresh potatoes are peeled every day for mashed potatoes and hand-cut fries. Kaiser buns and Vienna breads are baked for us locally.
Whether you’re looking for a place to host a family gathering, a corporate function, or just somewhere to enjoy a nice meal, Massey’s can accommodate individuals or groups as large as 50. As we work towards our fifth decade in business with three generations working under the same roof, we hope that you enjoy your visit with us.
History
Established in 1964.
Back in the 1960’s two young men, Angelo Argiro and Ted Papatheodorou had a dream to own their own successful restaurant. From the first day in the spring of 1965 when they sold $ 74 worth of hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and pop they proved that with good food, hard work and community support they could make it.
The original take-out lasted until 1984 when the times called for a full service restaurant. We closed our beloved «Burger Joint» & opened «Massey’s» and the partners’ success grew beyond even their wildest hopes. Of course, at some point all things do come to an end. In 1989, after twenty four years in business, «Uncle» Ted was ready to retire and I became my father’s partner.
Fortunately, Massey’s has continued to grow with our community. Throughout the years Pickering has evolved and so have we. And yes, I was one of those «Young» guys who flipped burgers here back in the 70’s.
Thanks for choosing Massey’s,
Don Argiro
