Awsome food. Much better than phở 99 down the street. I had the spicy beef noodle phở. Beef quality is good, and they give u a good amount of meat. Amazing stuff. Combination spring rolls were really good too.

What’s with the generous ratings here at Unilocal? Portion to price ratio definitely does not benefit the clients. The broth tastes like it came from a powder base rather than making it the traditional way. Spring roll is light on the fillings. Won’t be coming back.

Imo, average phở place. Beef are not thin enough and noodle is thicker then average. The large size isn’t that big. Over all, food can have some improvement.

I am a big fan of Phở… so I like it anyway unless if it really gross.

Excellent. They had very generous helping. Love the phở broth. Reasonable price. we had the spicy beef phở, lemongrass chicken, eggrolls and pork vermicelli. The owner even came by and gave us free salad roll for spending over $ 20. Good service. For a Sunday, it was busy. Great menu. Would recommend!

Sometimes these dives do make it out alive lol. actually, it really isnt that at all, just compared to the franchise Pho99 but it’s more than decent. Originally had called in ahead for the ice coffee to go, nice touch when he asked if i wanted sweet, less sweet, etc. so sure, easy on the condensed milk ;) Good coffee flavour. But ended up ordering the lemongrass pork over rice, good taste and good bang for your buck, everything under $ 15. fresh veggies and fish oil sauce. too bad they don’t delivery. accepts typical cards. very busy plaza here, a bit hidden, but if u see Michael’s, right beside it. easy repeat.

Very average IMO. Our usual hangout Phở Phu Thinh a few blocks away beside Coquitlam Center was closed so we decided to try something new. This is where Unilocal is so hit and miss, and in this case it was solid miss. Perhaps we have been spoiled by the quality, ambience, and service at Phở Phu Thinh, but the food was just okay(for some reason my broth and my husband’s was pretty sour – he had the Bun Bo Hue, and I had the regular phở. Usually I cannot stop drinking the broth, but in this case I was happy not to drink it). The meat in mine was pretty abundant, but not in his, and we both had the small. The menu was nice and had a lot of pictures, and the prices are ok and slightly higher than Phở Phu Thinh, but not by much so price is not the issue here. We also ordered two salad rolls which were not too exciting either. I would say everything fell into the«average» category, and the service was just average too. We asked for the bill and they pointed us to the back as if we should have known better. Anyway, I don’t get the rave reviews. Try Phở Phu Thinh if you are looking for Phở in the area and tell me that this place compares!

This is my favorite place for Phở in the TriCities, quality food and great service. Its awesome. I’m there 2 or 3 times a week at least! A quality meal for less than $ 10 and sometimes faster than McDonalds… lol I luv the Phở Tai with lotsa hot sauce and plenty of sliced jalapeño… mmm, mm, good!

Phở Huy changed so much over time. Forced me to re-edit my review on this place. From 4 stars, it has now dropped to 3. It’s just average to me now, it used to have a good phở soup base that complimented the noodles. I usually only came here for phở. Not all phở places are good anymore. Need to look around for another decent place to go to.

I’ve heard the name Phở Huy alot over the last year. Different groups of people have mentioned it as their«go to» hangover spot, the best Phở around, and one of the best places to get phở with egg noodles. Given that its a wet and cold springtime in Vancouver, I decided to finally make the trip out to find this little place and see what the whispers were all about. I have had excellent phở all over BC, so I have become a bit jaded when I hear people say«best Phở!!!» Driving around Port Coquitlam, I found Phở Huy in a little strip mall, right next to an edible flower arrangement place and a educational bookstore awesomely called«SchoolBookxx». This place is such a total hole in the wall… this could be a good sign! I ordered my usual(#29 beef brisket, tripe, and soft tendon), while my friend ordered the egg noodle beef shortrib specialty bowl I had heard so much about(#42b) as well as the shrimp paste cooked on a sugar cane strip. Once the lady brought our bowls to the table, I knew right away this would be a different experience. For one, both our soups had broth that was made that day. How do I know that? Well coming up as a chef and long-time kitchen bish, i would often be the kitchen’s little stock maker, clarifyer, and bored skimmer with a giant spoon. I know that when a broth is freshly made, it is crystal looking, has clear oily bits, and is devoid of the powdery sludge on the bottom of the bowl that comes from constant reboiling or re-using. That doesn’t mean reused stock is bad, its just different. To use a fresh broth means the clarity of flavours are much harder to achieve, and takes much more skill, than letting the flavours develop over days of simmering, but when you have the skill, a fresh stock just cannot be beat. Phở Huy, may need a wiping of its walls(there’s some obvious slurp splatter… I’m like Phở’s Dexter on splatter patterns), but its broth cannot be rivaled. It was outrageously good, I drained my bowl dry, and the egg noodle shortrib bowl was out of this world! I may have a new favorite. The large Vietnamese family in front of us broke into english for just a moment when one of the teens declared«this is really good!» Everyone seemed just as wowed as I was. So far, this is hands down the best Phở I have had in Canada! Try it and tell me if you agree!

If you ever try the Phở in USA or somewhere else not in Vancouver, you will know how bad phở in Van is … none of Phở in Vancouver meets my expectation.

THE best phở in the COQ! When I worked downtown and in Kits, I ate phở at least once a week and I’ve struggled to find somewhere on par with the best little phở shops in the city out here in the ‘burbs. Phở Huy has solved that problem for me. This place was recommended by my brother and I’m so happy I gave it a try. Their broth is delicious, their meat and accoutrements always fresh. I would happily eat here every day if my wallet would allow it.

You can usually find me here the day after I arrive in YVR, for lunch with my family. This is our go-to phở joint. Cheap and good :)

This place and Phở 99 takes the crown for best phở in the Tri Cities. Phở Huy is a recent discovery for me after seeing the line up of people. Using my rational train of thought, i immediately placed the puzzle pieces together. Lots of people=good food. Boy did that rational thinking pay off. This place has great phở, on par with Phở 99 but it’s a bit cheaper. My only beef is that the food took longer to come out compared to Phở 99. Writing reviews at night isn’t a good thing, now i want some phở!
