This is a tough one. 4⁄5 stars for their food but 2⁄5 stars for their waiting service. They have one of the best poutine in town!

My husband and I went to the Rocky Point Taphouse with some friends about a week ago and we all had a great time! The place was clean and had a good atmosphere. The staff and one of the owners went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and there were no complaints about the quality of the food and drinks. Rachel(one of the owners) took the time to chat with our table when she had a minute and she was great at explaining the different appy options(all of the appys we tried were very tasty). She even gave us a heads up to order another round of beers if we wanted before the appy hour ended which saved us a couple bucks. We’ll definitely be visiting again in the near future!

We came in on a Thursday night with an hour to sit and eat before an apt. We thought it would be fine since it was the middle of the week. Walking in we saw only 3 other couples, and the rest of the place was empty. We sat down and was promptly brought menus… Which are really hard to read. They are crappy photocopies on a clipboard and very light and faded. After ordering a couple beers, we sat… And sat. 10 minutes later, we still had not got our drinks or even been able put our food order in. Our waitress had also disappeared. My partner had to call into the kitchen to tell her we now didn’t have enough time to eat. No problem, I guess, since she still had not even poured our drinks. She also seemed insulted that we told her we had to leave. I’m sorry, you can’t even get 2 drinks poured in an empty restaurant you don’t get to be annoyed.

Great house band and the only live music in the area so that works! Taps are okay, not a lot of variety but they have the local breweries and rotating taps. Lots of potential!

The atmosphere here is one of the highlights of the restaurant. Gorgeous wooden panels and high ceilings serve a rustic and nautical feel. I mean, there are wooden pirate ship steering wheels that hang from the ceilings themselves that purpose as chandeliers. Cool! The deals here are incredible. And the food is even better. You would think with such cheap prices comes low quality, but no! $ 2 tacos and $ 4 beers on Tuesdays are what it’s really about for me, but the other food items are tasty too!(PS the tacos are way more than you bargain for. The tortillas are YUM.) On top of all this amazing-ness, you have quality service. Our server was so sweet from our initial entrance. Spectacular. And great location, beautiful scenery, and not too far a walk from the lovely Rocky Point pier. This place is that to come back to, always.

So i went to check out the re-opening of the old POINTPUB — under new management — the Rocky Point Taphouse — for their karaōke night which just started on Wednesday nights. They run a beer and burger special for $ 12. A very good deal for a good burger! Whistler Brewery products are on for under $ 5 — good value. They have a MASSIVE and beautiful patio out back with even an outdoor pool table — looked great though I stayed inside to be part of the karaōke. The service is fast and friendly! This is the best LIVE stage I have heard anywhere in this neighborhood. It looks as if the pub does a lot of live entertainment — as the karaōke utilizes their big stage and even BIGGER built in sound system which simply dwarfs all of the competing areas using those silly little portable Bose systems to power their rooms. A massive collection of songs — that I was able to obtain an updated list on my Iphone — beats the heck out of outdated damaged books with pages missing. Nice sound on stage with stage monitors for the singer — a rarity at most karaōke shows. They even broadcst the show LIVE around the world and record for youtube if requested — a great new option for karaōke! The karaōke is apparently quite recent — and they have a small group of regulars — I assume it will be packed on Wednesdays before long as the word gets out! There are Four big screens near the stage so you can watch sport events while waiting for your turn. I will be back — as the crowd seems energetic and appreciative and the host is fair and produces a great product for the singer and the audience! Combined with great food service — food — and a spacious room — it’s a win win night out!

A little less upscale that the other 2 pubs along St. Johns. The food menu is good with really delicious apples and affordable prices. Local Port Moody microbreweries have some beers listed. Lots of televisions and a big screen. Service is very good with really pleasant staff. Been there a few times and can see myself being a regular. Much improved over the former pub.

Came by to see what this place is all about. Parking is available along St. Johns. The inside looks pretty trendy, with lots of wood, but not that hipster look. Staff were friendly and quick. There is plenty of seating inside, as well as a decent sized patio in the rear. What I liked is that there were only a couple of sections with TVs. Most other places have way too many of them. The RPT burger I had($ 10) was pretty decent. The pickle was served on top. Fries weren’t the crunchiest, but they weren’t too oily either. Pricing here is very reasonable. Definitely a decent place to check out if one is in the neighbourhood.

Burgers good, ribs horrible… Way too over cooked and simply drenched in BBQ sauce in order to compensate… As if you cannot taste charcoal under BBQ sauce. Disappointed as this place just opened and we had such high expectations from when it was the point.

food menu is small but interesting. all items are under $ 15 which is great considering how expensive it is to go out nowadays. staff are friendly and not artificial. their Poutines are one of the best in the tri-cities and they have mostly local brews on tap including the entire moody ales. it is a great outdoor area, half covered and half open. nice pub feel all around
