TL;DR: delicious vegetarian burgers, huge portions of fries, cool environment.
Food: I had the Maghrebin and my date had the nuts and spinach burger. Both were delicious, but the Maghrebin has a jam on it that makes it a little sweeter than your average veggie burger. It is a bean burger, so combined with the sweet jam, it has a soft, savory/​sweet mouthfeel that I personally don’t really like in veggie burgers. I preferred the nut and spinach burger which, on the other hand, has more texture. The patty is a pine nut and spinach blend and topped with some sort of mayo, so the overall effect is savory rather than sweet. We both got tons of fries, and most were crispy and not over salted.
Service was prompt, attentive and also spoke some English.

Visiting Quebec for a few days and we stumbled upon this atmospheric restaurant. Burger list is quite large and the only problem was what to eat… We had a beef burger and a boar burger, both were equally delicious.
Great food, very good service and not that expensive either. Must visit if you are in the neighborhood!

This was a lucky stumble while we were walking up and down Quebec City. We were told to check out the Avenue Cartier for all the good places, but we stopped at Victor’s on Rue Saint-​Jean first and we weren’t sorry.
The place is small, a bit dark (atmosphere is nice tho), but long (you won’t see all the tables when you come in) and they seat you with or without a reservation. There was some confusion since it was obvious we weren’t local and speaking English. :) The waiter tried his best at English though and we appreciated it since the menu was​in​French only.
We came for burgers, so we ordered burgers.​:)​Le Méditerranéen​with​Salade César​and Le Merguez — Boar Burger with a side of Poutine. Both were delicious, flavourful, but a bit soggy from all the melted cheese. I’ve forgotten how it is to order a burger with cheese, since in America, that’s a Cheeseburger and it’s ordered separately.
Anyhow… the salad was a nice side and so was Poutine — that was a first for us. I didn’t really know what to expect. Fries, yes, but had no idea how they’d go with gravy and cheese curds. To be honest, it was okay, but not something I’d order again — my personal preference that has nothing to do with this restaurant. I don’t like soaked fries (with anything, not even with ketchup or mayo), so Poutine is not for me, but my husband loved it.
All in all we were very satisfied with this place. The staff was very kind and helpful, the food was delicious and it wasn’t too pricey. I’d definitely come again if I ever return to Quebec City.

Super good burgers and nice atmosphere. Loved the variety of specialty mayonnaises and micro-​brew beers. I had the Classique burger and a red ale. I would definitely revisit.

Amazing and creative burgers. Highly recommend. Can be a bit hard to find, around the corner from the street address. Well worth the effort.

Le propriétaire est d’une grande gentillesse, un charme fou. Ce sera un rendez-​vous assuré à chacun de mes séjours dans la capitale.

This Chez Victor is an extra 5-​minute walk from the «end» of the bustling Rue Saint Jean (the word end is in quotations because the road quickly stops being filled with tourists after the road meets Rue Saint Clare). Maybe it’s for this reason, but I didn’t see a lot of other tourists in the place when I was there.
After my experience here, I couldn’t grasp why the consistently good ratings and amazing reviews… I guess it just isn’t for me.
They got my order wrong, everything was cold except the fries, and even the patty in my burger was considerably cool by the time it got to me, because the cheese and the other toppings they used were cold. They also left out a topping that was written on the menu… The bun was nothing special, just a regular hamburger bun, and it wasn’t heated. Basically, I’ve had much better burgers before.
I even find their fries very dry. Didn’t find the atmosphere nor the décor special either.
I for one did not have a good experience with service or food (wrong order, cold food). So I’m giving my opinion, and peace-​ing out.

Très bon restaurant !! Bön prix et belle ambiance. J’ai prix la sangria rouge avec ma chum de fille et c’était excellent. La poutine que j’ai commandé était aussi très bonne ! Nous étions sur la terrasse, mais après cinq minutes, il a commencé à venter, nous avons donc demandé à notre serveuse si il y avait une table de libre à l’intérieur. En deux minutes, nous étions au chaud à l’intérieur. Très bon service.

We had the most amazing burger we have ever had in a restaurant. It is an amazing place with fantastic service and style. Just a perfect evening.

Ok, so everyone in Quebec City knows Chez Victor… Not a huge discovery, but whenever I have friends or family in town (carnivores and vegetarians alike!) THIS is where I bring them. Side note: my dad is STILL raving about it!
If you’re in the mood for a selection of exotic, delicious gourmet burgers, look no further. Chez Victor delivers an array of menu items that will convince you there is no way this place could be part of a burger chain. Not to mention their incredible variety of house mayonnaises that would surprise you to learn you can buy at your local supermarket. Yes, this place delivers an experience and price tag that will please all palates and have you coming back for more (or reminiscing about with your daughter over a year later).
A must-​try for anyone visiting Quebec, and for those of you Quebecers who still haven’t taken the plunge — what are you waiting for?!

Had the vegetarian nuts and spinach burger and it was excellent. The ambiance is nice and chill. The dim lighting made it seem like a nice place for a romantic date. In fact, sitting next to me was a couple in their 50s, dressed up very nicely, holding hands across the table, and eating their respective bowls of poutine. It was adorable.
That being said, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so sad while eating before. As I got close to finishing my own bowl of poutine with BBQ sauce, I muttered glumly to myself, «I don’t want this to end…» [sigh]

Wow wow, Chez Victor is vraiment top. The poutine was covered in delicious squeaky cheese curds melting all over the delicious fries in perfect amount of delicious gravy (there’s nothing worse than a poutine with too much gravy). The portion was huge, well worth the extra 2 $ or so that it was. The burger was good, a bit too much bun, not that the bun was bad, it was just bland. I’m a big bun critic, so if your not going to have a mind blowingly good bun, at least make it thin so that the burger can be the real star. Other than that, everything is «maison» home made, local, eco and really tasty.
The atmosphere was 5 stars for sure. Such a beautiful, quaint restaurant, it almost felt like a cozy cave. The service was another 5 stars, very pleasant, attentive and helpful.
All in all, a wonderful experience. Chez Victor was a victorious victory of foodie satisfaction.

Poutine tasted like heaven. The salmon burger was perfection. The nuts and spinach burger with gluten-​free buns was amazing. The duck burger = yummy. And they have a kids meal! Which was a smaller burger and fries combo. Very friendly service and environment.

De passage à Québec, j’ai demandé à un ami où on peut trouver les meilleurs burgers de la ville. Il m’a tout de suite conseillé Chez Victor. J’ai bien fait de l’écouter: j’y ai même été 2 fois en 2 jours.
Burgers variés, il y en a au sanglier, au saumon, végé… ou plus classique au boeuf. J’ai testé celui au sanglier et si ma mémoiré né me fait pas défaut un montagnard. Le mélange des saveurs était pertinent, la viande très bonne et les différents produits qui composent les burgers également.
Les différentes mayos pour les frites étaient top. D’ailleurs c’est sympa de pouvoir choisir le type de mayo. Par contre le pot est un peu petit: P
Le cheesecake à la noix de pécan était merveilleux et est venu parfaitement conclure ce repas.
Etant amateur de bières, j’ai également apprécié pouvoir goûter aux bières provenant des micro-​brasseries du coin.
Service très agréable, mais je pense que c’est en général toujours le cas au Canada car je n’ai pas eu de mauvaise expérience (tips obligent ?).
Parmi les meilleurs burgers que j’ai pu manger. A essayer si vous passez par Québec City.

Ma famille & moi chérissons «Chez Victor» rue Saint-​Jean et ce pour plusieurs raisons:
— Le service: fun et agréable
— Le lieu: propre à la déco soignée
— Les burgers végés …ou pas, juste délicieux, de qualité toujours égale, le choix des sauces Maison, les frites délicieuses
— La terrasse aux beaux jours: avec la couleur, on se croirait à Mexico!
— Pour mon petit garçon: parce qu’il y a toute la collec’ des Tintin ;-)
Bref, pour un repas qui satisfera les petits et les grands, c’est une valeur sûre à Québec City.

Fantastic burgers. I had the lamb and my wife had a veggie burger. The lamb was so juicy and well seasoned. Crazy amount of fries and a good beer menu. It was a great place to finish off our visit to Quebec.

Samedi midi pour un petit resto entre amis.
Nous avons tous commandé la même chose, le burger de la semaine. Le service a été très rapide malgré le fait que le resto était bien rempli.
Les burgers étaient délicieux comme toujours. Nous n’avons jamais été déçus, et pourtant nous les avons presque tous essayés! Les frites sont très bonnes aussi.
Une fois de plus ce fut très agréable. La succursale de Saint Jean est notre préférée, plus conviviale que les autres.
Chaque succursale a une carte commune ainsi que quelques burgers uniques. Il y a aussi un bon choix pour les végétariens. Le burger de la semaine est aussi un bon moyen de varier les plaisirs.
C’est pour le moment notre meilleure place pour manger des burgers. Il nous restera à tester leur poutine!

J’aime Chez Victor beaucoup! Les gens sont sympas. Le prix et le bouffe sont excellent. Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Quebec City, a must go if you are ever there! Portions are huge, food is awesome, and with great service!
I love the atmosphere as well, it is so cozy and comfortable. I lived in Quebec for a few months and this is on the top of my list of restaurants.

Great Vegetarian Burger selection here of the highest quality. Atmosphere and variety of burgers is 2^nd to none. We loved it so much we went a second time during our trip to Quebec. Victor Burger! Great beer selection too. Think of it as a Gastro-​Pub with a burger fetish.

Read the reviews, and based on the menu, we decided to check this place out for a late (ish) dinner. We went to the Rue St.-Jean location. Yes, it was definitely outside the tourist zone, but that was fine — no waiting :)
Food was really good. We both had burgers, one with poutine, one with salad. Both burgers were good, if not perhaps a *touch* overcooked. Mine had goat cheese, which made for a really good taste combination.
The poutine was easily the star of the meal, and so far, the best I’ve had. The gravy was the bomb. The cheese didn’t squeak as much as some others, but it was still awfully tasty, and the fries were hot and crispy, even after a few minutes.
If you get a chance to go, I highly recommend it. Try some of the craft beers, too — some are brewed just for the restaurant, and are very worth trying.
I wanted to go back today for another shot of poutine before leaving QC, but that wasn’t in the cards. Next time …

It is a bit of a walk from the tourist area, but well worth the trip. The burgers were very good, the fries were crispy, and they had beer on draft. The atmosphere was casual and the staff was pleasant. I would definite go back the next time I am in the mood for a burger in Quebec.

Don’t be afraid to go to a burger place in Quebec. Chez Victor is a casual dinner spot, but it is also somewhat of a trendy, local hangout with lots of table seating, good beers, wine, etc. It’s a great spot after spending a full day visiting touristy/​historical spots.
Did I mention that the burgers are great!?! Tons of selection and a highly varied menu in comparison to your standard burger place. The burgers aren’t greasy and the fries are killer. The price is on the high end for a burger, but I don’t mind $ 10+ burger joints as long as they deliver.
The service was slow, but we arrived very late so they might have been off their game at that point. It’s more of a local spot, out of the main tourist area, but that is what we were looking for. As an American who loves burgers, I’d recommend this place to just about anyone.

Interesting menu of different game made as burgers in this hip, out in the burbs joint. It was an interesting modern décor for essentially a burger joint on steriods (well, hip steriods).
I thought the venison burger was tastefully done and you could get different types of mayonaisse and toppings to add to it. However, I really couldn’t tell that much that it was venison and for my money the burger was a bit small. Fries were very average.
Good, but not fantastic. Interesting idea, however.
