Adorabelle Tea Room

Perfect place to celebrate with girlfriends. Their tea selection is unusual, the nibbles delightful, the setting pretty but unpretentious, and service top notch.
A friend arranged for 12 of us to tea together for her birthday and it was delightful. The staff at Adorabelle explained everything to the novices in the group, let us smell teas we were interested in before choosing, and made sure our every need was taken care of.
The traditional 3 tiered tea party selections were fresh and delicious. There were many savory items such as egg salad pinwheel, chicken Waldorf and cucumber cream cheese sandwiches and savory shortbread. The middle tier had two different types of scones to eat with clotted cream and jam. The upper tier held four different and delicious desert bites.
Much less stuffy and pretentious than tea at The Empress, and much more fun!

If you enjoy high tea, you’d know what to expect in terms of service and food. This place is so cute and… yes, adorable! Small but tables don’t crowd, with a Paris theme throughout. A perfect spot for slowing down the pace, and reflect upon whatever you desire while sipping a cup of hot tea and munching on delicious fresh tea sandwiches with truffle chocolates, tea cookies and meringues. The highlight for me were the scones: two flavors, vanilla and orange. They were so delicate and moist, not dry like so many others, and quite fluffy in height, not flat. Served with a whipped sweet butter cream and homemade strawberry preserves. Oh, so yummy. I only wished there was lemon curd also.
Service was impeccable. Attentive but not hovering. You get to smell the tea before committing to selecting one.
There’s a small nook-​like area for a nice private gathering of maybe 10 people. Four seating times, so I’d recommend making a reservation.
Gluten free option available, but must book at least a day in advance.
I’m so glad we didn’t have to ferry out to the Empress in Victoria for high tea. Anyhow, give it a try. I think you, too, will adore this elegant yet unassuming teahouse in Steveston.

Thankfully had the opportunity to visit this stellar tea house. So delighted to see attention was given to every detail. One of the cleanest establishments I have ever visited. The décor was second to none, it felt like a vacation!!!
As for the tea, so many delicious options. Loved that we could smell and see tea as we made our decision. Our server and owner was as sweet as can be. She shared historic facts about her restaurant, which is always a bonus!
The lunch was the most flavourful from start to finish. Perfect amount served and served perfectly.
They make all in house! I will be dreaming about their strawberry preserve… My mom officially has the second best preserve as of this date!
I will be telling everyone I know to treat themselves to a fantastic experience!

Umm You’re freakin Adorabelle!
Located in Steveston Village in a cute little house. Once you enter you’ll feel like a little girl or boy again!
We made reservations highly recommend doing this its a pretty small. We were greeted by the lovely smell of fresh baked goods yummmmm and a friendly lady.
We were seated, we were the first table here, they open at 11am.
Our lovely tea host brought out all the teas and let us smell the ones we were interested in. I generally go for cream earl grey with my high tea unless something sparks my interest. This is always a good choice. When our three tier of treats and sandwiches arrived the smell of all the goodies made me super excited! The table also included cream and fresh jam. Our afternoon tea included several savory sandwiches, savory cookies, 2 scones and several sweets. My absolute favorite was the scones and with cream and jam it was heavenly. Also worth mentioning the shortbread cookies both sweet and savory were delightful.
The service was lovely, I highly recommend this adorable place for afternoon tea.

An adorable establishment with a fitting name.
Adorabelle has a decent selection of loose teas and a limited, but well prepared, menu of sandwiches and treats to choose from.
The seating is very limited and the clientele skews ‘little girls’ tea party’ or senior citizen, so I’m not certain I’d return with a group of grown women as the ambiance didn’t quite fit our group. The limited seating also kept us from lingering.
However, the menu options and prices mean I would come back if I had to find something to amuse little girls. But for a group of adult women, I would suggest a hotel with a tea service instead.

The tiers of food are always well made and often matches the occasion/​theme (if there is one like Christmas or autumn). No matter what the theme is, so far all the ones I’ve tasted are delicious!
The service is wonderful. They are all very sweet and professional. They are attentive but will not hover.
The décor is very beautiful. It feels like a little cozy world of its own. When you are inside, you will not feel like you are in a heritage building that used to be Steveston’s courthouse.
This place is small so if you want an intimate private tea party it would be perfect!

Such a gem of a place in a quaint little town. It’s small but not cramped, plenty of room for guests and servers to move around but still felt very cozy. I loved the Paris theme spread throughout, the China was very cute, and the servers were helpful! Not to mention, the food & tea were great! I will definitely come back :)
Also for OUAT fans, it’s a short walk away from Storybrooke!

This is a cute little place that serves afternoon tea. We stopped by on a weekday and there was ample street parking.
Tea selection is small. We were explained what was in each type of tea, had the chance the smell the tea and then proceeded to make our selection.
Food selection was nice! It was a good selection of savoury and sweet goodies. Again, we were told what each tier consists of.
Service was fast as we were the only customers. It is definitely a different ambiance when we are the only customers.

Amazing. Had a great experience while having high tea with my boyfriend’s mom. Everything was delicious and the service excellent. Very comforting and attractive décor.

Stepped into this adorable little house back in May with a friend. I made a reservation with them a week before, which was easily done through the phone.
Parking is street parking, but it is also easy to find in Steveston Village and is accessible by transit.
Upon entering this old renovated court house, I was greeted by pink and cute decorations. It is very quaint and private, and the whole place can probably seat around 20 people tops.
First thing I noticed besides the clean and pretty cutlery was how quiet it was inside! No music at all. So naturally, you could here the other guests and their conversations with their best friends. There were definitely awkward pauses that screamed at me at times since one was hesitant to break the silence. Wish there was classy background music?
Anyway, the service was impeccable. The server was very professional and knowledgeable about the pastries and sandwiches. Her and her cute (yea, cute again!) apron presented the tea and pastries in an elegant and non-​disruptive manner.
This place was so fancy that their napkins were sitting inside a tea cup poised as a pink rose. The tea selection was varied and had unique flavours to them. My cup was filled with the Paris blend, which I would definitely recommend to those who love their nutty, sweet teas.
One three-​tiered tray was served to my friend and I. There were the usual scones, a truffle, sandwiches and chocolate-​dipped fruits. However, there were interesting pieces such as a bacon muffin (tasty, but not sure if it was appropriate for an afternoon tea) and a gummy candy placed in a tiny cupcake holder.
The end was a bit awkward as I felt like I was being ushered away from my seat. They did their best to suggest that it’s time to go by casually asking us if we needed a box to take everything else to go, etc. I know they were being generous with their time since the tables had an hour allocated per reservation (although I believe the website said 90 minutes?), but I wish that the service lasted a bit longer. Personal preference though.
I would recommend it for the goody $ 25 it was worth. The experience was very adorable and I would consider returning again.

I book marked this place based on some pictures from another review that showed up on the January 28^th front page of Unilocal.
Since this is all the way in Steveston it is almost a 3 hour trek for me one way, therefore, I really had to ensure that there was a special occasion and nice weather for me as this was an all day event.
The first thing you notice when you walk in is that it is a pink overload. Not to mention a cute overload. It reminds me of the little tea parties and tea sets I had as a little girl. It has that little girl charm written all over it. The entire place reminds me of a cute little dollhouse. The pink chairs and the roses in the cup were a nice touch.
The outside looks like a dollhouse, very homely and unassuming.
I appreciate how unlike other tea places that I’ve been to that this is going in the direction of «girls day out» or the adult exploring her inner girl.
I was feeling a little down this week, therefore, a high tea treatment was what the depression doctor perscribed.
I made a reservation on-​line and was called within 20 minutes. She double checked my dietary preference which was appreciated. I came a bit early due to traffic and she seated me none the less.
I appreciated how she allowed me to smell the tea before serving it to me.
The gluten free high tea (to be booked in a day in advance) was very yummy. I loved the lemon cake!
The lady serving me, who owns the place, was very social and sweet. I needed some uplifting conversation given the current circumstances and she made me stop crying inside.
She showed me how to fold my napkin into a rose which was sweet and an extra touch.

We were 20 minutes late but the ladies were very accommodating. The tea was delicious. I ordered the London and loved it. Very similar to earl grey but not as bitter. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her creamy earl grey.
The sandwiches were very tasty! They did an excellent job with this. They had the usual cucumber sandwiches but with cream cheese, egg salad pinwheels and turkey cranberry sandwiches. However what sets them apart are the savoury bacon cupcakes and savoury biscuits. So delicious!
I’m not that impressed with their scones and the clotted cream is not the greatest although kudos for presentation.
The desserts were decent. I liked the chocolate ganache, the strawberry whipped cream and the jelly? The disappointing one was the earl grey biscuit. It didn’t even have a hint of the flavour.
Service was good and I would definitely come back again.

Had a wonderful experience at this charming tea shop today. It’s kid friendly and has gluten free options. Be sure to try the special blends of tea — my favorite is the London tea!

This place is very cute and very girly! I had the jasmine green tea and it was pretty good. The food was OK. First tier was my favorite (the savory). Second tier was going a little disappointing (scones were too dry). Third tier was wayyy to sweet, I only ate the strawberry

I wanted to have a 5-​star review for my 200^th review… Adorabelle Tea Room is definitely worthy of these 5 stars and all the high tea lovers out there!
What used to be an old Courthouse is now a chic, vintage and truly «adorabelle» high tea experience.
Upon entering this quaint little house we are greeted warmly and checked in with our reservation. Instantly my eyes are immersed in a sea of tasteful décor and pretty girlie things to «ooh» and «aww» at. (I really ooh’d and aww’d at everything!) My friend and I arrived a few minutes early so we had time to explore the cozy space, which was carefully arranged with a shabby chic dresser and bench, a wall studded with colourfully vintage tea cups, and handmade olive soups, cute aprons and stationary for you to purchase. You could tell that they took care to make every space pretty and special.
With all my girlfriends finally gathered, we sat at a white table nicely presented with our tea setting — tea cups with pink napkin roses in them! The tea list was just the right size, not too many to overwhelm you but just enough to have variety. Blacks, Decaffeinated, Green & Rooibus. All the teas we chose were aromatic and delicious! Creamy Earl Grey, Paris and Coconut Almond were our favourites! I’d explain how wonderful the teas tasted or how smooth they were or how they perfectly paired with our finger foods but I’ll let you visit and taste for yourself ;)
The tea presentation was so well executed with our hostess Kathy giving us a smell of the teas we could choose from. Once we picked our tea she prepared it in front of us and took care to as if we were right or left handed and placed our tea pot accordingly. They also accommodated for our different tea preparations — soy milk, honey, brown sugar or milk!
Okay, time for the eye and stomach pleasing yumminess. Kathy explained all the handmade and same day made goodies that were bestowed upon our table.
Savoury level: Egg salad roll was light and not overdone with the mayo and the bread was not soggy! Smoked salmon roll you can’t go wrong! Chicken salad sandwich, happy twist on the typical tuna.
The raisin and citrus scone were the best scones I’ve ever had! Really! They didn’t flake and fall apart. They were moist and soft and the texture was just perfect… with or without jam but please EAT THE JAM! By far the best jam because it was lovingly made from scratch — look at those whole strawberries — naturally sweet and thick!
Dessert level: 3 words… Earl Grey Biscuit! The dark chocolate mini cake was every chocolate lovers dream! Moist, soft, rich dark chocolate flavour… I could eat a barrel full!
All of this tea, food, atmosphere a d wonderful service for around $ 30 with tax and tip is a bargain!
As I’m finishing this review, still in my food coma, I enjoyed every moment in that place away from the rainy day outside. Sipping and sharing teas and goodies with friends as you caught up with life. That’s how a 5-​star place should make you feel. I hope you all get the chance to raise your pinky finger and nibble on some yumminess — so visit Adorabelle soon!

I’ve been to almost every tea place in Greater Vancouver, and I was excited to try some place new. This place is super sweet and cute, the service was excellent, the tea was delicious and the food was perfect. Everything about this restaurant was exactly how I like my afternoon tea experience. Plus the price was right!
I’d also like to comment on the vibe — some tea places go for more of a «über modern» feel (like Urban Tea Merchant), or a classic vibe (Fairmont), or a kitschy grandma vibe (the tea places all in Kerrisdale), which are all fine, lovely vibes. But Adorabelle actually felt my age — young, 30 something wanting to enjoy a girls day out. It was a nice change.

I love this little place! Although there is no parking lot, street parking is plentiful, free and easy. Made reservations the day before. The ambiance and décor is gorgeous… starting with the cute little yellow house, then inside with whites, pink, cloud accents and white feather decorations. Its a little princesses dream.
We came on a girls weekend with my baby girl (2yo) and my mom. Our hostess was very friendly, gracious and completely on top of everything. We went past our reserved time but was not rushed out. She got my baby girl in a princess tiara and entertained her with a great little toy so my mom and I can enjoy our tea service.
We got their jasmine and the cream earl grey tea — both were so delicious. I am not a tea expert but I will try to describe them.
cream earl grey — at first I enjoyed it with cream and sugar and it was so delightful — smooth rich, with just the right amount of bergamont. As I moved on to my 4 – 5 cup I started to enjoy the tea as is and it had retained its flavor while keeping its smooth consistency.
Jasmine — beautiful floral scent, clear crisp green tea, and satisfying when paired with the goodies.
The goodies were awesome. Their scones are out of this world, made onsite they come out fresh and hot. Its moist with great flavor even if you don’t use the cream and jam they are served with. We had to take one home because we were so stuffed, but two days later I toasted the scone up and it was still scrumptious!
The savories carried a variety of flavors, delicate beautiful presentation. tea sandwiches were the egg salad sandwich, the herb cheese with asparagus, the chicken salad were clean and tasted fresh, simple, but elegant. There was a very unique savory cupcake, that was made with cheese and bacon — yummo! and also my daughters favorite the open face cucumber cream cheese with radish sandwich.
The sweets were amazing with a very moist petite four chocolate cake, nice big strawberry with cream (not in season so this was not as good i guess they can”t help it), a awesome spiced cookie, and a sweet cupcake — my daughter destroyed both of them so I assume it meets her mark of approval. There was also a lemon pound cake but I couldn’t eat anymore, my mom liked it.

Adorabelle is, frankly, adorable. It is housed in the old Steveston court house, (which once was the local jail, and then the red cross hall during WWII) though you wouldn’t know it from the appearance inside.
Outside the paint is a sunny and cheerful yellow, and it doesn’t obviously look like a tea house. The tearoom signage is easy to miss, and the building itself looks petite. Actually, the building is quite small — there are only five tables available for customers. I suppose they could have crammed another table or two in there, but the way they have it now makes the place seem spacious.
First though, this isn’t a walk in place. This is a, you make a reservation and then come in at a specific time: 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm or 3:30pm. This is because they only offer Afternoon Tea, which is a few sandwiches, scones and desserts. They tea they serve is from Nikaido, a local boutique that blends their own tea.
You have a choice of three black, three green, two rooibos and one tisane. I recommend the Paris Black tea, a black tea with caramel. That or the Earl Grey Cream. Well, really, you can’t go wrong with any blends from Nikaido. Or at least I haven’t had that experience.
The food, while pleasant, isn’t anything to crow over. Nothing terrible, nothing fantastic, just palpable — all of it. They offer both refined white sugar, and honey in a little hard candy-​type package.
One thing I have to highlight is the fact that I was with someone who had a milk and soy allergy. I had let the staff know this when I made the reservations, and they made sure they had coconut milk specifically for her. Usually she has to go without a «creamer» so the fact they went to the extra trouble for us was really appreciated.
The staff, for all the dealings I had with them, have been fantastic. They are attentive, enthusiastic, and very charming in the black and white apron ensemble they wear. I do believe it is the chef herself that comes out with the tiered food dishes, and gives a quick run-​down of the goodies we are about to eat.
I wouldn’t suggest this place for the typical male, as the décor is very pink. I mean, it is tastefully done, but I wouldn’t call it anything other than quite feminine. I am also a fan of their dishes. It isn’t often that a tea house will use something other than mismatched teacups, or the plain white –boring– types. These are fancy little cups that helps set the scene of a very classy tea room.
My only complaint is that the walls are nearly bare and sound bounces around quite clearly. Woe to you if another table there is full of happy and chatty women — their conversation will dominate the entire tea room. If only they had more textiles present, the sound would be dampened and our conversation would be from our own table.
