This is my spot in Steveston, the absolute best prices in this over priced village. The spicy chicken soup is BOMB, bam!!! Bacon burger special great!

Quite overpriced considering the relative small portions you get. Avoid the fish(halibut) and chips, it’s not their signature dish and the portions are pathetic. Staff can be really nice or not so much, it’s ymmv.

This our go to place in Steveston for Sunday brunch especially having a dog. Our family has been coming here for years… it can get quite busy especially on weekends and Sunday brunch. There is a little area where you can tie your dog and keep a close eye on them. The staff is great and they look after you and will also refill your dogs water or just give them a pet :)

Come here often as I work in the village. Great brunch, love the smoked salmon bennies, great omelettes. Good lunch, falafel wrap with yam fries is a go to for me. The service is always on point for me. Sometimes a wait on weekends, mainly in the summer, but it’s too be expected as it is a classic Steveston breakfast place. Also, my son loves the pancakes and french toast.

It’s a pretty decent place for breakfast, and we’ve always wanted to come here for dinner. After a regular stroll through the town we decided that it was time to have a dinner here. Calamari was not bad, the oil was maybe a bit old as the batter was cooked to a very dark hue, but on the plus side it wasn’t greasy and it was tasty. The Tzatziki sauce was a good compliment to it with a lemen wedge on the side. Garnished with red onion slices, for $ 8.00 it was a good middle ground starter to go with my salad. Feta cheese salad, small size was pretty big. Glad I didn’t get the regular size. tomatoes, romaine lettuce, onions and cucumbers, it was essentially a Greek salad with romaine lettuce. The dressing I would have preferred it to be a bit less Greek dressing. KT had a cream of broccoli soup and Feta salad combo. She liked the soup, but her salad seemed to have been drenched in the dressing. What may have happened here is they tossed the salad together and she got the bottom part of the salad from the bowl into her plate. I would have preferred it if they could have offered the dressing on the side. Next time I will remember to ask for that instead. Overall it was A-OK, good enough to return for and try the pasta’s which seem to be popular here. Maybe I’ll do a take out next time around since my Pizza joint with new owners closed down(Mama’s Pizza).

I love this place. I am visiting from Los Angeles and it has been a place of comfort and Bevan has been just the friendliest person. I have been coming here for breakfast and yesterday I ordered a traditional 2 eggs, three sausage, hash browns and English muffin. Everything came out the way that I ordered it. It was beyond yummy. My friends were asking me why I am coming to the same place and I say it is because the customer service is marvelous and the food is so good. When I am in this part of Canada I will stop in.

Terrible service and food. I am lactose intolerant, they don’t offer any alternative for it in their drinks, so went to waves next door while my husband was waiting for the food. In the meantime the waitress told my husband I couldn’t go inside with outside beverage which I just got it because they didn’t have in the first place. We had to order to go and wait a long time for our sandwiches while a lot of people that got there after us was being served same style of sandwich that we ordered. I went to the counter and asked the lady why some people that arrived after us was already eating and she answered: ITDOESN’T MATTER. After a loooong time our food was ready so we went somewhere else to eat. My clubhouse sandwich had A HAIR in it and my husbands wrap was saltier than the dead sea. so we end up throwing the food and 20 bucks shorter is our pockets!

Great breakfast. Friendly staff and nice location. Very clean. Reasonably priced menu. Only complaint was that service was a bit slow.

This place is my favorite place for pastas and burgers and they are reasonably priced for a restaurant located at Fisherman’s Wharf. I’ve had their soup, fries, pastas, burgers, wraps, but not breakfast yet. But they are all great! Whoever I took, they all love the food My conclusion, they make The Old Spaghetti Factory a joke.

I really want to like Cimona’s Café. I’ve tried it numerous times as the location is convenient and it has a nice environment. Unfortunately the service and kitchen kill the experience most times. Service staff is not very pleasent usually. If you get food in any decent amount of time it is good, but you will wait if there are more than a few other tables. Over the weekend we stopped in again, waited 15mins at our table for service but got none. We got up to leave and the ‘friendly’ lady at the front gave us a sort of scowl and gave us a very rude ‘have a nice day’ like we being inconvenient. I think I’m doing giving Cemona’s Café chances.

On Boxing Day, we headed out to Steveston to avoid the crowds(before attempting to dive into them again later in the day). Sure enough, the village was eerily quiet. I felt like I was playing The Walking Dead, but that may have been because I was playing it everyday for the past few days.(It’s a really good game; download it now.) Of course, everything was closed, including Tapenade Bistro. We walked around and ended up at Cimona Café for some brunch. The special of the day sounded interesting — steak omelette($ 9.49). At that price, I couldn’t say no, but I was also a bit hesitant because of the price. I wondered about the quiche-like dishes neighbouring tables were dining upon, only to realize that they were also actually omelettes. I’m not picky on tradition and I do like quiches, so I didn’t mind. This was somewhat disappointing. The steak was probably the worst part of the omelette, since the meat was quite tough and lacked flavour. I also disliked the tomatoes, but that’s just because of my distaste for them. I also contemplated getting the country omelette($ 8.49), filled with bacon, mushroom, and cheese — which Doro ended up getting. This was much better. The bacon had flavour! And bacon and mushroom is always good. The hashbrowns that came with all the dishes were just alright — kind of dry, but lightly seasoned. They reminded me of the ones from SFU Dining, which I’m also unenthusiastic about, unless they’re slathered with gravy and egg. Kem had the old favourite($ 9.99), with choice of meat, eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes. The pancakes were somewhat fluffy, but they weren’t that exciting. It kind of felt like a fancier version of the breakfast at Bob’s Subs, but I actually prefer Bob’s way more. Shredded hashbrowns are so much better. And it’s greasier and cheaper there. Doro also ordered a french toast($ 1) which was also just decent. It seemed like it wanted to be a HK style french toast, but it also wanted to be a bit more traditional as well. Meh. Cimona was okay. I didn’t really enjoy anything particularly, but it wasn’t that bad at all(except for maybe the steak in my omelette). Prices are fairly low, but if I wanted a cheap breakfast, I would just head to Bob’s instead.

Excellent food, reasonable prices, decent(not great) service. I particularly enjoy their falafel wrap! It’s very busy on weekends so be sure to get there early.

A reasonably priced restaurant in Steveston! Friendly staff, good beer specials and their Prawn Pasta is one of my fav’s.

This restaurant definitely benefits from a primo location, as when I got there, the place was packed, and as my Stevestonian friend informed me, it always is. We got there at around 2PM on a sunny Sunday afternoon and were seated within a few minutes. Awesome. They were also still serving breakfast items. Double awesome! Once we ordered, however, the food took a little too long to get there — about twenty to thirty minutes. The restaurant didn’t seem too busy at that point either, but hey, the weather was good and it was a lazy Sunday, so we didn’t let it bother us. I rode it out with some coffee, which tasted watered down. Thumbs down. I then hit a level of obscene hunger, and unfortunately, when the food got there, it was only ok and didn’t really satisfy. I had the Old Favourite(scrambled eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and French Toast — I wasn’t kidding about being hungry) and the best part were the hashbrowns. The eggs and sausage were tough and overcooked, and I could have made better French Toast myself. Double thumbs down! BF’s bacon cheeseburger was really good though! Maybe I should have gotten that instead. Our server was attentive enough and everything, so I might consider giving the place another chance, but with so many dining options in Steveston, I’d like to try something else a little more promising.
