Flat out some of the best Cantonese food I’ve ever had. Eaten all over Vancouver, NYC, HK and many other cities. The lobster sticky rice and razor clams were amazing. Anyone complaining about the«service» obviously just has a grudge to pick or is trying to downplay their quality. They were more than friendly when we walked in, sat us quickly and they had plenty of suggestions on what was fresh. Check all the other people who wrote negative reviews and notice that almost every review is a 1 star. Sounds like expectations are out of whack or other motives.

The most upsetting part of this review is that I can’t give any negative stars. I can only write about the service, which makes this place even more disappointing/upsetting. My fiancé and I walked it, the staff just looked at us. Finally 5 minutes into an on and off awkward staring contest with the staff, she finally asked if its a table for 2; after which she just pointed to a table and said«that table». Didn’t hand us a menu or walk is to the table or anything. We get to our table, wait 10 minutes, when the same worker literally just drops the menu on the table. No words, just dropped the menu on the table and walked away. Another 15 minutes go by, still no one comes to our table to ask if we’re ready to order, or if we needed tea or water or anything. Finally, we just decided to walk out. Too bad I can’t even write a review on the water cause we didn’t even get a chance to taste that. How does this place make money?

If food court Chinese food is a 2 and Kirin is a 5, then this place is a 3.5 The three of us came here for lunch on a Sunday. When we were first walked in, nobody was there to greet us. We stood there for a good minute or two until someone from the back came out to walk us to our table. Off to a not so good start… We ordered hot and sour soup, black bean spare ribs, siu mai, sticky rice, and the house special chow mein. With the exception of the black bean spare ribs that lacked flavour, all dishes were pretty solid. Not blow your socks off good but good enough to give it a pass. We were a bit surprised by the price of the hot and sour soup. It was $ 27 for a large. Yes it came in a GIANT bowl, but IMO it was waaaay overpriced. The other dim sum dishes were $ 5 — $ 10.

Looks like a small restaurant, but there’s a larger area inside. We came with a friend who knew what to order. Food is very good. Dishes included lobster with rice, lobster with yee mein, green beans, fried fish skeleton with fish on bed of greens, soy chicken, peppered onion pork chop, and sweet and sour pork. Dessert was a unique steamed milk custard. Check out the photos, they say a thousand words. Waitress was attentive and changed our used plates.

Cathy is a terrific hostess and greets you at the door. The food is as good as it gets. Their House special Chow Main is loaded with seafood on top of a bed of crispy noodles with their delicious sauce on the side. Fantastic Dish !! Thank you for many wonderful meals in a warm friendly atmosphere. Sandy

Food(Dim Sum) is lousy. Absolutely no comparison to other restaurants in Richmond. Service is just OK.

The have steamed minced pork with salted fish! Probably one of my favourite Chinese dishes growing up as a kid. The ‘ham yee’ salted fish just flavoured the porked nicely. Giving it that added richness and pungent smell that is unique to this dish. Imagine adding anchovies to your hamburger. This is 100 times better. Like smelly cheese on crackers. This dish pairs well with just plain old rice. They have some other Cantonese favourites like sweet and sour pork and snow pea tips with garlic. Food is decent, but this review is for the ham yee yuk beung. One thing we noted was the hot and sour soup. Some have it three and another gave it four, but everyone liked it very much because it had a fresh taste to it, which was unique.

Went there for lunch with my parents and inlaws. Ordered sweet and sour pork. garlic spareribs, mixed veggies with oyster sauce, rice noodle with beef satay, hot and sour soup, general tso chicken. Everything was very good except for the rice noodle beef satay… the noodles were abit too mushy. The waitress brought soup bowls for the soup later, every bowl she put on the table, she put her thumb in it… luckily no soup was in it!!!

East On 1 is Steveston’s newest Chinese restaurant and it is probably the best in the area.(Although there isn’t too much competition…) The prices here are actually quite high when you compare the same menu items to places such as Kirin, Jade, and Sun Sui Wah. Many of the seafood dishes can cost up to $ 26.00, such as a small plate of scallops and vegetables. The majority of their dishes were cooked quite well and tasted authentic, but we just felt that their portions should be a bit bigger. The staff here are very professional and speak English, so you don’t have to worry about communication problems. Their menu is in both English and Chinese, and their servers are very friendly and willing to explain their menu. Both food and service would be 4 stars but unfortunately, I had to dock off a star because of their high prices and small portions.

I went here on a whim, since there aren’t many Chinese restaurants in this part of Richmond other than Timmy Kitchen. I ordered the Curry beef brisket which is pretty standard stuff. The place looked very clean, but the place was empty other than maybe one other table. The staff were just standing around and not very attentive, which for a Chinese restaurant is pretty standard(yes, low standards). The dish arrived, the curry beef brisket was swimming in oil. Not even exaggerating — the sauce was 50% oil and 50% curry. Maybe some of their other dishes are actually good, but I kind of just slogged through my meal. It wasn’t good, but I’ve actually had worse. It wasn’t cheap either, actually it was more on the expensive side. I won’t be coming back.
