Been coming here since 2009 and every 4 weeks after that like clock work and I have never been able to find any where who do Japanese gel nails like Glam. They don’t get booked up months in advance without reasons.
They are simply the best. And when you demand the best you should know it comes with price tag. People who complain about price they should not get so much design on their nails. They charge you for the design you choose. If you have a budget tell them and they can work around it but if you want to have the best and most creative like I do than you’re expected to pay the cost for them. Think of it like this, they last for 4 full weeks, its not that bad considering its on your nails ²⁴⁄₇ a day.
I have my nails done by from owner, Keiko, to my regular Aya and Fumi to other nail tech because my nails are so complicated sometimes they need more help to do my set but it gets done in time and the quality you come to expect. All of the nail techs have won multiple nail competition and they are simply the best and on top of their game. Think of them as the Hermes of Japanese Gel Nails.
People who complain that they «waited» for their appointment obviously don’t understand that sometimes life happens and that other people’s appointment run late but they are not going to rush and finish the job badly because the next appointment is up. They will finish to the highest standard unlike most cheap in and out nail salons. If you want to wave your money around than maybe you should wave it to other nail salon because they take pride in their work and they will take as long of a time to finish their nails like they would of your nail if your appointment run late. They don’t have time to baby you because they are doing their job to finish the nail as fast as possible rather than spend time telling you they are running late.
To sum it up, Best Japanese gel nails salon in BC. Excellent service. Clean tools and work space. And of course the Best nail tech team.

got my nail done here every year and never been disappointed before. Sent them the design that I want before coming in and they did a really good job!!! very happy!!!

WHAT HAPPENED: My appointment was at 1:00pm today. I have been a regular paying customer for quite some time each time paying no less than $ 100 for a fill and nail art. They are extremely anal about having customers confirm via text or phone confirmations for your appointment days in advance; but when it comes to them holding up the respect on the day of your appointment, they fall grossly short. Classic example TODAY.
POORLY RUN BUSINESS: Keeping customers waiting more than 15 minutes past their appointment time WITH NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OR EXPLANATION. It may seem a trivial complaint, but it can cost a business and it did for them today. I walked right out. Hey if you make me wait 15 minutes past my appointment time without acknowledgement, I will assume you couldn’t give a damn about your clientele.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE — The staff blame customers for going past their appointment time if they choose harder nail art: In one visit, my nail tech, blamed me for going past my 2 hour appointment time over what she felt was a harder nail art design and keeping a customer waiting. Then when I went to go pay, she insisted I tell her 5 weeks in advance of my next appointment whether or not I wanted to do a hard nail or easy nail art design. Are you kidding/​serious? How would I know so far in advance? LOL. I just told her I wouldn’t know. Book me for a longer time then just in case. Don’t take your own frustrations out at customers. Another sign of a poorly run business.
Staff always talk in Japanese with one another while services are performed which to some, is seen as very rude.
CONCLUSION: I like most paying customers have little patience for waiting for an appointment that was booked 5 weeks prior. If there’s an unavoidable hold-​up like today, ACKNOWLEDGE CUSTOMERS AND THANK THEM FOR THEIR PATIENCE. DON’T COMPOUND THE PROBLEM BY IGNORING IT. I like most paying customers, will definitely not wait more than 15 minutes for an appointment I diligently show up for without any kind of acknowledgment or explanation. Staff came up regularly to the counter where I was seated and could have offered some type of acknowledgement or explanation and they chose not to. The manager was also present in the salon today and oversaw everything. Clearly, the manager is more concerned in getting the seats filled than acknowledging waiting patrons showing up on time for their appointments. Shame!-Shame!

Got a pedicure and new set of gel nails today and it was a very perfect experience. The secretary and staff are all very polite, kind, and accommodating. The price is a tad higher than other nail salons, but the environment is clean and you definitely get what you pay for. Thank you :)

I’ve been coming to this salon for over 3 years now. It’s hard to get an appointment here on the weekends unless you book in advance. All the technicians here are skillful, although it seems that lately the turnover rate of their staff here is quite high. I used to get my nails done by this one technician, and after a few months she no longer worked here. Same thing happened the year after, another tech that I frequently go for, gone. I have to say the staff here aren’t as great as before. My last couple of visits had been rushed (I always arrive 5 – 10 min early), and I had to ask them to fix my designs because they were trying to rush through everything. My other complain is that the staff are japanese and they will chit chat in japanese amongst themselves. I know a little bit of Japanese and there were a few times where I heard the staff bad mouthing about their customers in front of them, but the customers had no clue because they didn’t understand the language. The price here is higher than other salons out there, but they do have a lot choices with your nail art (stones/​stickers/​3d art). Mind you, the little emblishments/​designs do add up very quickly, especially if you want more than 1 color/​polish. There is extra charge if you want to mix colors. Even a glitter line is another $ 6. If you aren’t going for crazy complicated designs, there are other salons out there which can do the same as here, with a smaller price tag.

This place is adorable! Everyone is so nice and you can watch a movie while you get your nails done. They have magazines that you can choose your nail art from and they provide very high quality service — I’ve never had my gel nails chip off or break from here, and I always get compliments. It’s the best place that I’ve been to in the lower mainland to get my nails done.
It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The only problem you may encounter is that not all the girls speak perfect English, but I have never had any real problems from that!

I’ve been here once, for a promo I saw on their website. I like the fact that you can put your bags in a basket and keep them from getting dirty. Liz was the technician who did my nails, and she really made sure she did a great and thorough job. From what I saw, Liz has gorgeous nails, and if you have the money and time, she’ll even do the same design if you like it! There seemed be to a huge assortment of colors they had at their disposal, and some special glitter. Liz was really easy to talk to, and so was the manager, Keiko. The only thing is that the salon is quite small, and the price is on the higher end. Of course, these ladies do a great job, and I wouldn’t mind returning for a special occasion when I can spend a bit more money. Please, please, PLEASE make sure you book in advance, especially if you’d like to come in during a Saturday, since they can get super busy. It was suggested I book my next appointment a month in advance. Thank you Liz and Keiko for being so friendly and for your great service!

Nail polish was redone for free. They said that the nail polish application was too thick and thus caused a tonne of bubbles. When I re polished I chose a shimmery color though, just to lower the risk of bubbles forming again. Anyhow, very appreciative of glam nail followed up with my review right away and tried to solve the problem ASAP.

This is the best place I’ve gone and I wish I lived in BC! My nail tech was so nice and hand painted the designs herself! It was phenomenal. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely stop by for a nail fix. :)

From the prices and reviews, I expected much, much more from this place. I’m not one to enjoy protruding «art» on my nails. I enjoy simple, good manicures and polish application. It shouldn’t be that hard if you are well-​known for all this complicated nail art. Or so I thought…
It’s true that they have a cute concept going — basket under your chair for bags and other belongings. But, that’s it. That’s about the most impressive thing about this place. The girls don’t speak English very well, so I don’t expect conversation. We were checked in and seated quite promptly. The problem with a language barrier in this business is the failure to communicate your product. She had asked if I wanted hard or soft gel. I said I had the soft, soak-​off gel on my fingers, and that’s what I want today. She brought out a few color wheels and a plastic palette. We examined the colors and chose one from a wheel. She then revealed that the colors on the wheel are for «soft gel», which is an entirely different type of gel polish. Well then… why were we given the color wheels in the first place?
Finally, I said I was only here for the $ 35 gel application — whatever that was. She nodded and took away the color wheels, leaving me with the color palette. It had, maybe, 20 colors on it. I was so disappointed. Most of the colors were also pastel, Spring colors. It’s summer… those just won’t do!
As she was filing my nails, I could tell that she wasn’t very good at it. I ended up with lop-​sided nails. The application wasn’t fantastic either. She remembered to seal the tips of my nails; however, it’s been a few days now and the tips have mostly chipped off.
On top of everything, they charge $ 5 for removal even though you are getting a new gel polish set. Altogether, I paid $ 42 (tax included) for my below-​par gel polish application. On my way out, she offered me a package of 3 visits. NO thank you. I’m already regretting coming here once. Forget 2 more visits.
Perhaps this place is great for nail art and such, but if you are just looking for a clean and simple gel polish application, forget it.

Best nail salon in Vancouver 100% and I can’t wait to go again! I went a month ago and had some really cool 3D art done… All I can say is that I’m in love. They are a bit steep in price, but the job i had done is really one of kind and after being like two weeks overdue for a fill they still get compliments. If anybody reads my previous reviews u can tell I am picky with the work done and customer service. My only wish is that they were downtown. Also that they did eyebrows too. Like to get it all done in one shot… But I am willing to sacrifice!!! Great job glam nails

I was really excited to have my nails done here.
Sadly. It turned out to be quite the disappointment. I had prebooked the promo #7. This took forever and the end result was a nightmare.
–I wasn’t told what the person’s name was, nor was i offered a beverage.
The one thing I did like is that they played movies to watch.
(I was there so long, I sat through almost 2 entire ones!) My neck and back were so sore, I almost couldnt stand the pain.
–I asked the girl to make the stripe silver– she made it gold (as well as all of them way too thin and crooked)
–I asked her to make the bows bigger and she argued with me (so much that someone else came and did them)
I wish the same person would of also completed the hearts– as they turned out very deformed.
–She did not trim down, or push back my cuticles as every other place always has.
They look awful
–Many of my nails are lopsided, misshapen and or deformed. Looks like they were not professionally done at all.
–She also did not clean out the underside of the nails. She left my original nails showing all different lenghts –it looks horrible.
–She also did such a terrible job that after 2 days my thumbnail cracked –then broke right off!
The other thumbnail, and middle nail cracked as well only 4 days after getting them done!
I sent an email about this and have not heard back. After paying 110 $ I am quite upset how horrible of a job this place did, especially since they were supposed to be an «award winning» salon!

They look so bad that i am embarrassed about them — not to mention now I have to pay to get them fixed elsewhere as well as take time out to get them fixed
I will not be returning (since they have not contacted me about the email I sent about the problems I had)
*Update*- a week after getting them done my middle nail broke off so far down the nail bed it is super sore and it was bleeding a lot
This is the second broken nail now, plus the cracked thumb which I am sure will also break off at any time.
I have been getting my nails done for 20 years and never have they cracked and broke off like this — especially in the first week !
I emailed them again but unless they wish to refund a portion of the money I doubt they will be contacting me.
Many nail places to chose from — this certainly won’t be one of them.

I was recommended to go here by a friend. Didn’t have an appointment, but was put in for a slot right away. While the pricing is a bit steep (hence 4 instead of 5 stars), I ended up with the best gel nails I’ve ever had! The technicians are incredibly sweet and skilled. I haven’t found a place like this since!

My friend recommended me this place. At first, i wasn’t sure about the place but after a few times there, i must say «the best service» i ever experienced and the best nail salon. They have a lot of nail magazines there so you can look through or there is a monthly nail design promotion as well so you can decide which nail designs you want to go for. The place is very clean. They have a small basket under the chair for your purse… and a place to hang up your coat… the most thing i’m impressed with is that the swarovski stones on the nails do not come off at all! =)
I am very happy with them and will keep going back monthly.

so far, glam nail salon never fail to disappointment me. they do a SUPERB JOB when it comes to nail designs. wonderful customer service. they don’t push you and their tools are quite sanitized. they also give you a free file for you to file down your nails when they grow out.
of course with all these wonderful things are a bit costly. average would cost you $ 60+ for a new set. most i’ve had was $ 130+.
overall, i would definitely come back and will continue to recommend them to my friends.

best nail place ever.
hitomi is an awesome nail technician. she’s very friendly and isn’t overly talkative but isn’t quiet either. my friend had recommended her and i am so glad she did! i originally came in with a specific nail colour in mind, but after asking some questions, hitomi had brought what i requested along with her recommendation — something unexpected and i totally love it. the colour went well with for my engagement event and it turned out i love the shade hitomi chose more than the one i originally chose. she took care to paint each shade of paint on, one on each nail, to show me the difference before i decided. she was super professional, but made me feel at ease. i don’t usually get my nails done, and was a bit worried at first because of the crazy nail art i had seen on their website. BUT i am so glad i gave them a try.
everything is sanitized here and the place is spotless clean. they make you feel very vip here, compared to some places i’ve been to. they seemed to have thought out everything — where to put your bag, your jacket, your shoes (if you’re going for a pedicure), without it getting in the way.

Here’s the thing. You won’t get this kind of service anywhere else. They really keep their work environment safe and clean for their customers. They really put effort and time into doing your nails, and will go through great lengths to satisfy the customer’s requests.
The huge downside to this is the price. But like they say, you get what you pay for.

Highly recommended this place. The place is clean, and you get a basket to place your handbag (just like Japan)! So you don’t have to put your handbag on the floor or share your seat.
I’m so impressed with my esthetician, she’s Korean– she is gentle and nice; pays attention to details. She checked the length of nails on both of my hands. There’s no bubble, no unfilled spaces on my nails. My mani usually last 5 days max, but this time, it lasted 10 days!!! She’s just perfect. Love this place!!!
