Terrible service, which then didn’t really make the food all that appetizing. There were also several occasions where the food was burnt as well… I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant especially since the waiters don’t seem to attend to your needs and the wait time for food was extremely long, even when the restaurant barely had any customers.

Service is so bad. So bad. I usually write really long reviews. But this is just so, so bad.

You get a ton of food for your money here if you order the combo deals. You get a soup(I usually upgrade to the pork bone for an extra $ 1) and main, plus rice and sides. The soup is a huge portion, and the main is a full size as well — full skillet for the spicy chicken, or the whole fish if you get mackerel. Comes in at around $ 15, which is a crazy deal. Oh and it all tastes great too. Service was kinda slow but not really that bad. On busy nights they seem to have a lot of staff around.

I live around the area so I’ve eaten here a few times and the experience has been consistent. While the food is generally decent, if not straight-up good, the service is very poor. If you decide to eat here, be prepared to be ignored while you wait to have your name written on the wait list, watch the servers fail to do basic multitasking, and listen to the boss occasionally say«clean up table!» while he sits behind the cashier and nothing else. The biggest frustration is the waiting time to do anything, whether it’s to get a table, to order, or to get the bill, which stems from the fact that the servers are just so inefficient with their tasks. Now, I don’t blame them entirely. Perhaps they’re stressed or overworked. But this could be fixed by improved training, more employees, or if the boss helped out or directed his staff instead of sitting at the cashier all day. Here’s some tips for the servers : — if you see dirty dishes as you walk by a table, just pick it up on your way — if you’re directing new customers to a table, might as well put the names of the other waiting customers on the list since you’re already there TL;DR: food is pretty good, service is awful

Most horrible place ever! We got our seat since 6:30pm and we have been waited an hour and only came was side dishes and sauce. They were using a giant pushing car for only 1 or 2 dishes out. Such large pushing only carry 1 dish, what a waste of time and manpower. All they said was sorry sorry and more sorry. By the way, we were having BBQ and i don’t know why it is taking forever just to bring raw food out. The menu says BBQ is limited to 2hrs so i hope they don’t expect us that includes the 1hr15min waiting time. All they did was keep giving us side dishes. I have a 60 yrs old grandma and a 4 yr old child were suffering from hunger. I had to go complain to the manager or boss but he did not know how to speak English so he asked his staff to translate. At 7:45pm, out food had FINALLY came. Overall, this place is completely not acceptable and I would not recommended this place to anyone, unless you like to wait forever and suffer from hunger. The price and time is not worth the wait. I would rather pay more pricey food for a lot shorter waiting time. I would give negative stars i can. This place does not even deserve 1 star…

Love the food here, service not so much. When we used to live around the area we eat here almost every week. We always order Combo E(spicy pork belly, rice & Korean paste soybean soup), Japchae and Seafood pancake. I would have given them 5 stars but their service is usually slow and unattentive. Definitely order Combo E and Seafood pancake here though. My husband and I love Korean food and been to a lot of Korean restaurants in the lower mainland but I think they have the best seafood pancake and spicy pork belly!

The worst Korean all u can eat ever. First: we asked for house salad. But it never came. Can u imagine oil meat without salad to come along is so fatty. Second: they always short cut customer’s order. We ordered 5 items, only 70% came every round. Third: waiters only served their own tables, so when u ask him or her, he or she said” wait” and walked away. Fourth: they don’t ask if they are ok to take the plates away even there were still some food on the plates.

For a quick lunch in a sit-down restaurant, this is a 4! $ 8.50 an entrée — under $ 20 for two. A great deal. And service has improved greatly since being here a few years back.

2 stars for slow service and not bringing extra appetizer. 1 star for minimum 2 persons(or 2 orders) for the AYCE. SMH, might’ve still done this but like others mentioned, service is so slow. Feel bad for the servers. 3 stars for food is not bad. Certainly better then what they pass for Korean in San Francisco. 3 stars for price is reasonable. Overall, IDK if I’d return unless I had company for the AYCE.

Went here with 3 other friends and had bbq combo that comes with soup and seafood pancake. Food was good and price was reasonable. This place is big and can probably serve large groups. They even had a private room in the back for special events/parties. Service could be better, but I have seen worse in other restaurants.

I took my boyfriend out for dinner to this kbbq restaurant cause he wanted to have dinner here. The service was horrible, we sat down and was neglected for a few minutes and the waiter didn’t bother to give us the check list for AYCE. Anyways, the food was alright for the price I paid I could’ve eaten something better. After we finished eating we asked for the bill and the waitress forgot about our bill but made eye contact with us? Like ok. We finally paid after like 10 minutes of waiting. Don’t think we’ll be coming back with this whack of service and mediocre food.

Not worth the money. Ordered spicy pork belly which was mostly fat. I love pork belly. But even I couldn’t eat the chewy fat that the manager seems to think is ok. Soybean soup was way too salty and 3 side dishes for a Korean bbq place is just sad. The service was a joke. Skip this place.

I usually keep an open mind when I go and try out a different restaurant for the first time, but sadly this place was kinda disappointing. I came here with my mom the other day because we were hungry. But sadly, right when we got in and sat down, they didn’t even bothered to give us a menu. We sat there for several minutes, but still no menu from anyone, not even that waitress bothered to come back with any. I’m sorry but you have no excuse to mess that up. And get this, this actually happened when the restaurant was almost emptied… yes folks, almost emptied… at 1:30pm, when it was still considered lunch time for most people. Yet they messed up something as simple as bringing us the menu right away. Anyways, the food came in a relatively decent amount of time, the food was okay enough, and the prices was fair. Though I do have to mention that I had the Marinated sliced beef short rib and while it is decent, but a few of the pieces was half burnt and while there was suppose to be 3 strips which would make it 9 pieces, but I only gotten 8 pieces. Ya, 1 isn’t that big of a deal, but if I have to for over more than $ 15 or more for a meal, I’d expect to get everything I paid for. While my experience isn’t all that horrible, but it was definitely not worth coming back to unless if I had nowhere else to go.

Pretty decent place for lunch specials. Came here after seeing the sign many many times but didn’t ever try it out. I’m glad I did. The food was very tasty and the quality seemed OK. I think the service is a little bit slow but overall not too bad. For $ 8.50 you can’t beat this price for lunch. I ordered the marinated beef with potato noodles and it came with 3 side dishes which are refillable.

It’s a venue with a pretty nice modern interior and an outdoor patio. I’ve had better Korean fare in Downtown, but what I like about this place is that it’s rarely busy(I know I can get a table right away), it’s very spacious, and the staff let you sit for hours. The staff are really slow and you may feel ignored, but if you are looking to bring a group of friends without feeling pressured to leave, this is a great place to sit for hours and socialize to your heart’s content. When I have groups of 4 — 6 friends, this is our to-go-to spot so we can chat all night. I’ve probably come to this place at least 10 — 15 times before I got onto Unilocal! I also like their specials at $ 8.50 for a meal. Seriously, I spend less than $ 10 at this place and sit for 3 hours with my friends everytime. At other restaurants, we would be given glares or hints by staff to leave, or be told that we can only stay for a maximum of two hours. So to avoid any of those situations, we made Kyung Bok our regular group hang out.

I used to go at least twice a month. Let me tell you what: 1) changed owner 2) no more 2 prices of ayce 3) one price $ 21ish 4) huuuge restaurant, only 3 serving. 1 is a rookie 5) ayce menu is at least 50% less. No pancake, no soup, no nothing 6) took 54 min to bring a pathetic miso soup 7) 1s round took 40 min and was not complete 8) wanted to leave and owner argues with you instead of asking their servers why service is so slow Conclusion: worst korean food and service in richmond/vancouver.

My wife and I thought we had some extra time and wanted a good meal. I will never be able to get all the time I wasted here waiting for a server or for delivery of food. 2 hours at the ¾ meal mark. Wow.(Not a good-way wow either) If the food arrives, it is not bad… It is just getting it from the kitchen to the table that is the challenge. In fact, I’m going to recommend this for the next Olympics. Who gets full fastest(confirmed by X-ray). I guess the television stations wouldn’t cover it as it seems 3 hours is too excessive a time. While we were sitting here– there was lots of just sitting here– one girl was trying to clean a table next to us. I thought she was doing a great job. Fast, clean, effective. Apparently, the little manager-lady disagreed with my assessment. She came in and said to the girl, «you go faster. So slow. Ahh yaaa». It took all my willpower to stop from saying«get up off your stool and help her if warp speed isn’t fast enough.» At another point, the lady took the BBQ grate away to bring another. She turned it off. Brought a new grate and didn’t turn it on. Hard to BBQ with cold grate. I know their plan. If we make them age long enough, they’ll either die, or lose their appetite. I. Won’t. Be. Back. (Bah humbug)

No flowery paid review From me. Service is the sheets here. There’s no excuse for it. Part of it appears that the employees are overworked or under stress. Boss is stone faced while he sits at the cashiers desk seemingly always. When he disappears on occasion, say, a smoke break, nobody can leave or pay they’re bill. Only he has that control. Talk abt trust issues and that if think speaks volumes why this place’s service blows. You have to assertive with your direction to food staff. The Location is what keeps this place alive. Food us actually decent. #9 is a one minute walk away. You need to ask employee what the wifi password is. Place is 2.5 stars due to service(many different concerns on different levels) and price increases. It’s also overpriced. Need recommendations on great alternatives close by.

Terrible, simply terrible. This has to be one of the worst offers in the entire city of Richmond. Considering their location I am still surprised that they are still in business. To begin with the customer service is awful. In fact you do not get any customer service at all it is that bad. They will bring you to a table quick but then you will wait for a very very long time before they’ll take your order. My wife and I waited for over 30 minutes before they took our order and do you know what the servers were doing? The servers were walking up and down the store looking down on their phones. They showed no interest in their job which is to serve. Like I said, the service is AWEFUL. So let’s talk about the food. To put in short the food is not worth the price you pay I think this is way overpriced. The portions are small, the food taste like it comes out of the can and there’s still something else. When you go to Korean barbecue you would expect to have fresh meat that has been marinated. It is not that. But you know they worst of it all is? they will actually come by and turn down your flame because they are that cheap. HOWINSULTINGISTHAT??? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else because this place is not worth it. If you want to have meat go to Costco buy some meat and marinade and have a fun time at your own place. Or if you really want to go out skip this place and walk 10 m to another restaurant, #9. You will at least get your money’s worth and no insults.
