Lots of choices in the Aberdeen Centre food court, but this place is one of my faves. I love the congee here! For a food court stall, their congee is actually better than some dim sum restaurant congees. I always get the Preserved egg & lean pork congee with pan fried radish cake combo. It comes up to just under $ 8 all in, which is pretty good value for a set meal. I sometimes add $ 1 for a drink add-on. Taste-wise, the congee is thick, flavourful, and has generous amounts of ingredients. The pan fried radish cake is not bad, although it is rather oily. Overall, a good place to grab lunch or dinner if you are craving some congee!

I ordered a meatball noodle with vegetable as shown on the menu. but what I received was just plain meatball noodle. When I question the clerks, they said the owner decided not to include the vegetables anymore. I said they should have changed the picture or told customer upfront. So that I could have ordered something else. They refused to apologize.

They have the best lemon tea! Other than that I would stick with the porridge/congee/jook with pork and thousand year old eggs. It’s hard to mess up on porridge and it’s a huge serving too. I tried a meatball + noodle soup but the broth was fishy and ruined my meatball flavors. Also tried the carrot cake(turnip cake?) which tasted fine but weren’t crispy.

Lung Kee(not to be confused with Leung Kee) is one of the food court spots at Aberdeen Centre. I had just got into Vancouver after the trip up from Seattle and was starved. After perusing the options at Aberdeen, I decided to give Lung Kee a try. Their offerings consist of congee(rice porridge) and noodle dishes as the name indicates. Pricing here is pretty reasonable. I don’t think any menu item was above $ 7. Though it is cash only and unlike some of the other food court places here, drinks are not included with the meal. I decided to go with the congee combo offering($ 6.75). There are several congees you can pick from as well as a few side dishes to choose from. I went with the fish congee and rice noodle rolls. Since it is a food court, the food is served in plastic containers on food trays and you wait for your number to be called. The fish congee was flavorful, though it seemed like it had MSG in it since I got very thirsty from eating it. The rice noodle rolls are tasty. I would suggest adding the chili oil. Make sure to put sauce on them before taking your meal away as there are no condiments elsewhere. It was not the best congee that I have had, but for the price and portion it was satisfying enough for a mid-afternoon meal. Make sure to drink plenty of water or a buy a drink though if you try it out.

Tried their deep fried dace ball. Taste was pretty good but texture was not. It’s too soft n not chewy enough.

Ordered the dumpling noodle soup and a HK milk tea. The portion is pretty small for $ 7 and the noodles were good but not a fan of the dumpling. I prefer the stuffing of my dumpling minced and mixed. These were large chunks of pork, shrimp, and black root mashed and held together with a won ton cover. IT came with about 4 big dumplings. The broth was pretty good. Their milk tea was a large 24 oz and also very good. I wouldn’t recommend the dumplings, maybe the wonton noodle soup is better.

I was in the Aberdeen Centre food court, and felt like having Congee. I’m no congee expert, but theirs didn’t wow me. Fine, but nothing exceptional. Part of the drawback to having congee in a food court is that there are no condiments at the table for me to try out. I’m not proficient enough to know which ones I want, and use them before leaving the counter. They had a deal for adding a side dish to your congee, but they were all starchy choices, like fried noodles or rice. Really? I would have gone for some pickles or fish balls or something, but the congee is enough carbohydrate for one sitting.

Was craving congee and saw this at the food court of Aberdeen and thought«why not?». Decent congee, well-flavoured(though I suspect MSG), and a good amount of fish pieces for $ 4.25. $ 6.50 gets you a congee with a side dish of stir-fried rice /noodles or or dough fritters or a pan-fried turnip cake. The place seems busy, but the people are friendly and their menu is in both Chinese and English so you don’t feel intimated ordering.

Everytime I visit the food court in Aberdeen, I rotate between 3 different places, –Lung Kee Congee & Noodles being one of them. Their noodles or congee are extremely affordable and it doesn’t take too long to make. I usually order their #18, which is seaweed, fishball soup with vermicilli. It’s a light enough meal that I don’t feel gross after eating it and filling enough that I don’t have to eat 1 hour later.
