If you like hot pot & soy sauce, you will love Posh! A unique spin on hotpot. You will often find yourself fighting with concentrations like a mad chemist attempting to reach the perfect flavour profile. Also unique are the stacked plates that food is served on that makes your table feel more like a cityscape.

Went here last week to enjoy dinner with friends. I don’t know why the name has«charcoal» in it, they use gas for the hot pots. The style here is a cross between hot pot and sukiyaki as they put a soy based broth in the pots. Anyway, the price is good at $ 17.95 for all you can eat, this location seems a bit cramp and hot(it has been hot lately, I guess hot pot wasn’t the best idea). I’m not a big lover of AYCE hot pot, but this place is not too bad, and once in a while is OK.

Service here is so bad. I had to wait 40 mins for a table of 4. And there were only 2 tables taken. The girl told us they were all booked but by the time we could had sat down and ate we could had been finished. It just didnt make sense. I also tried calling to reserve seats for over 30 mins but no one would pick up the phone. The worst is by the time we sat down. We only ate for 15 mins and she told us its their last call. The food and drinks are good but 40 mins is not worth it.

Ive been to all the poshs, and this was the first to open. This posh is very uniquely layout and has 2 floors but very cramped. Expect to wait if you plan to dine here during rush hours. That said, if you been to any other poshs, this one is no exception. Same everywhere you go. For this location, the parking lot is big but be wary of chinese drivers and lack of parking space during rush hour. Sukiyaki is the japanese equivalent to the chinese hotpot except instead of a nice broth, you have soysauce. Traditionally eaten with a raw egg to enhance the flavors and textures of the food. The beef you order is by plate and is subjected to a fee for every unconsumed plate, so be sure of what you order, think of the environment and children without food! The vegetables and extra is quite fresh aswell. Posh used to be good, it still is! Though the quality and dining experience has been on the decline for sometime now. The type of meal is not for everyone but its certainly worth trying.

I love coupons. Bought a $ 25 coupon which translate to dinner for 2AYCE + 2 free virgin drinks. Great deal. Ok so the idea of Japanese Sukiyaki is slightly different than other Chinese AYCE hotpot, there is less selection for sure. It’s suppose to be a healthier alternative with customers ending up eating more veggies and tofu which is fine by me. You have a choice of 2 meats… Beef & pork, both sliced thin. Lots of veggies like shitake mushroom, tofu, corn etc. Again, for $ 12.50 per person you get decent quality AYCE Sukiyaki + 1 free drink. Value can’t be beat. On the down side, it’s hard to call in for a reservation. They don’t always pick up the phone. I ended up emailing the restaurant and they got back to me in 3 hours…

My husband and I went with our coupon tonight to Posh Richmond and were delighted. The service was fabulous and the food was so delicious. There were no dipping sauces or we weren’t aware of it. There was certainly an abundance of food and the drinks were tasty. We were very satisfied and we plan to return for another dinner. My husband is planning to take his friend there for lunch as well. Very good value.

I have always loved Posh since hot pot is amazing. This one was the original and we came here often but it is quite small but they do have an upstairs. Broadways is much bigger but parking sucks and they don’t honour reservations(well not their fault I guess because people don’t leave after 2 hours). I purchased the vouchers which is a great deal(half off) including bottomless drinks… yum. I was so full I couldn’t move and hubby was the same. The service was excellent and the décor is simple yet nice. The service was pretty quick too. Lots of people came without resos even on a weekday, but it’s all you can eat! of course the wait will be late — make resos. Oh and yes the beef is very thin and fatty — just the way i like it. The pork is good too but fatty beef is the best. The veggies is a good selection, but I personally would love to add daikon, winter melon, taro, and bean sprouts.

One of my friend recommended and bought the coupon of it, therefore, we went there and tried for all you can eat hot pot! I personally don’t like all you can eat at all, plus shabu shabu would not be my favour. It only have very limited choice of food and the soup based with Japanese style soy sauce and water. It tasted sweet and funny. Coupled with the poor food, this is not a place I will ever go back to or recommend to anyone.

I just dined at Posh on Richmond less than 30 minutes ago and the service at this place is appalling. The place is tiny and seats around 6 tables, yet there were 3 servers standing around talking amongst one another. At times, one girl was on the phone seemingly having a fun conversation as customers, including myself, were trying to flag down a server for some service. We came in, and no water was even offered to us until 15 minutes later I was fed up and went up to the counter and asked myself. The guy who serves there acts as if he is wearing a hollow tube in front of his face because he lacks ANY kind of peripheral vision whatsoever. For example, he would go to a table to pick up one set of plates, and ignore the other 3 tables who require service. The girl servers are the same, just not as bad. I thought they would come back to service the other tables, but they simply ignored them. Blatantly bad service, you’d have to wonder if they are missing half their brain. Food is OK and it is the ONLY reason it is getting –TWO– stars. I simply happen to enjoy Sukiyaki so I thought the food would not be bad if I had at least HALF decent service. It is better elsewhere, but for AYCE, I cannot complain about the food. I was happy they give you a pot of water so you can refill the sukiyaki yourself, or else my pot would have been left to dry with the quality of service there. Veggies are fresh, and goes well with the sukiyaki. Okay, I’ve saved the BEST for last. You guys will get a kick out of this one. On the menu, it says that starter tea, and dessert is included in the AYCE. This was not the case and it was not mentioned to me whatsoever upon entry. But that’s not the best part. Upon asking if dessert was available(just wondering), the waitress said, «Umm, at this time we do not offer this and it is not included in the price. But, I can get you some black sesame soup though.» I asked, «Oh, is it complimentary?» And she said. «Hold on one second, I will check in the back if we still have any first!». She comes back out to say«No, sorry, we don’t have any today!» LOL? Are you kidding me? What kind of service is this when you offer something that you don’t even have. Utterly useless staff.

I’ve been to Posh Broadway and this one in Richmond. I can say that this one in Richmond is better in terms of quality of food and taste. Service was kind of bad at both places. The restaurant definitely skimps on hiring enough servers, but really puts the money on the amount of food available. Ask about any promotions or special deals when you’re ordering. Our first server didn’t tell us about it, but they were having a special combo for $ 17.95 for both pork and beef, and a virgin cocktail. It was pretty good. Lots and lots of selection for AYCE. This is a different sort of hot pot being ostensibly Japanese. There is also an upstairs seating area which is usually closed until the bottom fills up with people. Richmond is a very competitive market for AYCE hot pot, so Posh really has to push to make any money here.

Never go to this place again. Price increased from $ 13 per person to $ 25. Who ever goes there now is just paying double the price of the value you get

OMG, how does this place make money??? Had the best meal in Vancouver at this location. For $ 20 you have access to unlimited delicious paper thin angus certified beef, veggies(pumpkin, taro, wintermelon, enoki mushrooms, various cabbages and asian greens, etc), dipping sauces(peanut sate was the best), tofu, noodles(get the soba — the regular noodles are just instant noodles), eggs, butter, and probably some other stuff I can’t remember right now. AND you get a fancy virgin drink — I ordered the Lychee Galore; my husband ordered the Kiwi Blush. Mine was better. Although both were kind of artificial tasting. The place is small — maybe only 6 tables? The sign outside is also very small so it would be easy to miss. Service was friendly. Décor is sleek and modern. LOOOOOOOOVE this place!!!

Went there for dinner with a group of 6. Very good service, because the place was empty. The meat was so paper thin — yes, you could see through it! Probably how they keep it tender — slice it THIN! The various mushrooms were yummy, but overall most of the food ended up tasting the same as you cook it all in the same broth. So after awhile, it loses its charm. Don’t think I’d go back.

Came here for lunch and it was delicious. The place wasn’t too busy, but still had customers. Service was unhurried and fast. For lunch, its approx $ 12 and I don’t think the menu is all that different from dinner. Their beef is definitely thin and it does have a lot of fat in it as others pointed out. The selection of veggies is vast and there are lots of noodles to choose from. I enjoyed a leisurely meal and left satisfied. Definitely will be returning.

***½ Sukiyaki restaurants are a pretty rare breed despite the popularity of hot pot in Vancouver area. Posh is a good alternative for those seeking comforting, steaming soups in winter’s dreary nights. What bothered me the most is the quality of meat that you get for $ 15.88 per person. The beef was just too paper thin and too fatty. I much prefer if there’s a leaner option. For $ 7 more you can order the higher quality meat, but for people like me who is not a meatanarian, the vast price difference just doesn’t justify. Other disappointments: The fish cakes were slightly too bland for my liking and the tofu was not silky. The good news: Good selection of vegetables and mushrooms. Sukiyaki base has good flavors and they have spicy sauce. I would be returning but will have to fast for half a day to convince myself to get the more expensive option.

The ultimate cure for snowy, slushy winter nights. This location seems to have a few more options than the Broadway one. First, you can order a better quality beef as a sukiyaki set — not all you can eat. The beef is marbled and thicker, doesn’t come with the big strips of fat like the regular all you can eat. They’ve also got a number of izakaya dishes that I didn’t get to try. way too stuffed from the all you can eat. I love the konjac rolls and the fish cakes, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms. It’s all good. Copied a bunch of kids and ordered a sprite with mango syrup. Not such a good idea, I could barely finish a quarter of it — way too sweet.

i love this place, although they only have 2 kinds of meat, they have tons of veggie to select from and i like more than half of them… i would only suggest 4 people max, because their pots are just suitable for 4, if there’s 6, you’ll still only get 1 pot and that’ll take a long time for everyone to get their share… remember to reserve before going… and even if you do that, you might have to wait a bit…

Just like the other Posh on broadway, though a quite a bit smaller. If you are unaware of what Posh is, it’s an all you can eat Sukiyaki restaurant. It’s Japanese style hot-pot with a sweet soy base for the broth, rare sliced beef and pork and about 25 different vegetables that you can order to cook in the pot. It’s yum. Super yum. I wouldn’t want to go with more than 6 people, most of the tables are built for more intimate dinners. Food is excellent as usual, I went for lunch today and ate too much again. Try the frozen tofu, the black fungus and always order more cabbage.(It soaks up all the broth which makes it super good) Try the taiwanese style hot pot also. It’s freakin good! If you just want a little spice, the side order of hot sauce is the same ingredients as the taiwanese hot pot. Wait staff was good, and nothing beats a wall of Kirin beer cans.
