Spasation Salon & Day Spa

I used a groupon for a haircut and was very pleased with Sheranda. The staff was attentive to my needs and I felt comfortable with the service I received. I would definitely return to this spa!

The facial was quite nice. My sister-​in-​law had her hair color done here and it was horrible. I wouldn’t have come based on her experience but I had a gift card from Christmas to use. I figured I wouldn’t dare get my hair done but face and feet maybe!

I went with a groupon voucher. I am pretty happy with my hair cut. The salon is nice and clean. Appointment was on time so I didn’t wait at all.

My hairdresser Marissa is awesome. She always listens to exactly what I want and then makes recommendations as to what will work for my hair and talking about the newest trends. She is also super friendly, down to earth and very professional. This was my 3^rd haircut and colour with her and she always goes above and beyond.

I don’t typically believe in doing multiple reviews on a business, especially in the same year, but i definitely needed to do an update on my last one.
It took me a full 8 months to go back… I was that irritated by my last visit. But the massage that I ended up getting back then was really good so I knew I’d be back.
I booked a 60 minute relaxation massage with Milos. The first time EVER that I have had the same massage therapist twice in a row. He’s that good.
The only negative that I could say really is that his «bedside manner» (for lack of a better term) could use some improvement. the scrub pants that he wears are just slightly too large so they «swoosh» as he moves around the room. It can be very distracting. And also, and this is going to sound absolutely ridiculous… when he is getting more massage oil, he does it very loudly. The squirting sound is quite unnerving.
But the massage is great. He checks in a couple of times to see how you’re doing.
The main reason for the bump in stars is the AMAZING renovations that they’ve done here. the place looks absolutely incredible. It was cramped before but certainly not now. They’ve opened up the reception area quite a bit and I just can’t get over the changes.

What a great place! When I moved to the area, I was very anxious about finding a new salon. The receptionist was excellent in making me feel comfortable about making an appointment and I was glad I did! Jeff is my stylist and he was beyond wonderful. He consulted me every step of the way. He made me comfortable and did better than excellent work on my cut amd colour! I’ve definitely found my new hair salon!

My husband and I went to Spasation in Sherwood Park when I purchased a 1-​hour couples massage for $ 89 off Groupon. Since I’m pregnant, I was able to get a prenatal massage and my husband went for the deep tissue massage. The guy I had did a very good job with just the right amount of pressure and he worked a lot on my upper back which I told him was the sorest. My husband said the lady he had really seemed to know what she was doing and she worked on his problem shoulder a lot. We were both very happy with the service, the atmosphere, and the price. I would definitely go back, pregnant or not.

Bought a teambuy voucher, and loved it! The seating area was a little chilly but once I was in the massage it was wonderful, they let hubby and I go together even tho we hadn’t scheduled it that way. Tipped big cuz the service was great.

In my second visit back to Spasation in the park, I had a different aesthetician for my signature facial. I can’t remember her name now — but she’s very friendly and had been giving out facials for 3 years. Aside from the great service, I would have liked for her to go over the brand & type of product used like the mask, the exfoliator etc. It’s important for some clients to know the brand and line that will be applied.
I had asked whether the chosen product was suited for my skin type, she assured me that it was. It just would be nice to know what to look for in future visits.

This place is pretty MEH if you ask me. Seems overly hyped up for what it is — I only ever have been in there to get my hair done/​cut though so maybe their other Spa services are where it’s at? Nonetheless, I find this place quite overpriced and I have never felt 100% satisfied when leaving there (actually, now that I think about it there was one time I got an up-​do for a wedding I was attending and I actually really liked what she did).
Last time I was in was with my BFF and we just kind of decided on a whim to go get our hair cut on a holiday Monday (our usual spot — Roxx Salon & Spa was closed :(). We walked in and asked if they would have an opening for the two of us to get our hair cut. Well, it almost seemed like this request bothered the receptionist lady. «I don’t know if we can fit you both in at once.» My friend and I looked at each other questioningly and then back towards the seemingly completely empty store and said yeah, that’s OK — we can go one after the other. So, much to, what seemed to be, her dismay, she booked us in. The lady who cut our hair, although extremely nice, was not one for conversation (seemed English was a bit of a struggle for her — which is totally fine but there was very little effort on her part). I felt OK about my hair cut but my friend was not impressed at all — she had it cut from fairly long to fairly short with strict instructions to the stylist that she DID NOT want a bob… well it turned out quite bob-​y!
On top of it all it was very expensive. I don’t think I would choose to go back here unless EVERYTHING else is closed again.
