Charmingly quirky place. Looks a bit hippy-dippy foo-foo, but the food is incredible, and the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful if they tried. The Pesto Puffs and the Chocolate Croissant were absolutely yummy, and the brekkie bun was amazing

This place is one of a kind. The staff had so much energy singing and dancing — especially the dude making hot drinks. He made the visit very fun and entertaining. Happiness spreads! The food was very delicious, cheap, and fast. Great little location. Definitely recommend this place. Would totally go back.

We went twice in 2 days! The food and coffee were amazing and everyone working was SO friendly! Every time we’re back in the area we’ll be stopping in. I’d highly recommend the conversano(veggie) sandwich and almond milk latte and my boyfriend raved about the turkey/brie/cranberry chutney sandiwch! Oh man and the blueberry granola muffins. amazing!

What an amazing place! I stopped in to grab a coffee and a snack with my friends about 2 months ago. The staff were super friendly and enthusiastic. I am still thinking about the cinnamon twist I had. It was Buttery, flakey goodness. Can’t wait until I can make it up there again and try more of their treats!

My new bride and I found ourselves at this café on the way to Port Renfrew, and from the moment we opened the door, we were simply amazed. We were greeted immediately and ordered some of the best food we have had on this trip. The atmosphere is fun and the food(homemade with love) was perfect. We were dragging a bit after a long hike, but after having a coffee and some sandwiches while the staff sang along with the radio, we perked right up. If you are in the area, you MUST stop in.

Got a tip about a cool little not-to-miss roadside spot out in the trees… Spot on! Great place to grab a sandwich, pastry & coffee and sit out on the lawn or head down to a local beach for a picnic. The veggie sandwich was superb and the owner makes you feel right at home with his welcoming, playful banter. Great turn around spot for a day trip out of Victoria.

We really liked this place. Very charming with great, friendly and fast service. Everyone in our party of 8 enjoyed their food. Also, has a nice selection of gluten free options.

This place is such a gem! I’m still in awe of this place in what seems like the middle of nowhere. Incredible food, wonderful ladies who are so friendly and filled with character & charm. I had the first sandwich on the menu, can’t pronounce it… but A MAZING. Everything is so fresh and homemade. The balance of sweet and spicy between the rustic Dijon and caramelized onion was perfect, along with the ham, smoky havarti, and crusty focaccia. My wife had the sweet potato apple chipotle soup. First few bites were filled with incredible flavor, and then the spicy chipotle hits and you might need a short interlude. Paired with fresh focaccia it is delicious! We also had the herby lemonade with fresh herbs from their garden, not too sweet or sour, just right. Atmosphere is filled with local artists’ work and it is so nice to sit outside and enjoy the lovely weather(mid-70s with a light summer breeze that has hints of salt from the ocean). Another nice touch is the friendly locals and dog-friendly patio. The only thing they need is a hammock for my food-coma.

Ambience was great. I ordered the Shakshuka… The beans were not cooked at all, which made the whole dish inedible. The service was great. I did not try anything from the bakery which did look decent enough. But for $ 10 I expect to be able to eat at least well cooked food… taste would probably cost more I guess!

LOVE it. Come here if you possibly can. Sweet crunchy hippie vibe, delightful people behind the counter both times we have been this week(going back tomorrow for another GREAT and artistic latte and GF treats — more choices than anywhere I’ve been in the North Bay CA, where we are from). Small and delightful. Have only done coffee &GF pastries but the vegan soups and other food look delicious as well.

Stopped for lunch today, around 1:30. It was still quite busy. The staff was very friendly and apologetic about the wait, which wasn’t a problem. Sandwich and soup costed $ 14 and was good value for the money. The food was very good and the people were even better. They delivery your food by calling out your name as they walk through the building and into the outdoor eating area. You could eat off the floor except the cook grabbed it first, and ate it(the sausage roll). The gentleman really was a treat to watch as he is quite animated. Worth the stop.

We came in while it was rainy and grey and we were immediately greeted by a cozy atmosphere and a smiling pretty girl by the cash register. We shared a turkey sandwich and cheesecake, and each had a latte. The coffee was delicious, as expected from a coffee house. But what isn’t a usual is the very friendly service. Even the cook(and owner I think) came out and asked how everything was. He even gives a friendly farewell to everyone as they leave. And oh my God, the orange and raspberry cheesecake was SOGOOD! You must have it. I’m not a huge cheesecake fan and I could have eaten the entire thing(the cake I mean, all of it). This place was the utmost top of our coffee/snack experiences on our vacation. Thank you very much!

I love these kind of places. out in the middle of nowhere and you have organic, fresh, healthy and yes. delicious food right there off this lovely highway. It just appears out of nowhere and viola! Got in line and waited patiently while right in front of you are these fresh baked goods that just want to get up and bite you. Oh wait, I think that’s the other way around yes? We were trying to not overdo it on our eating everything in sight vacay mode because, well, it just bums out your tummy which does not make for good company. I STILL had to buy one cherry and chocolate scone for later… We split their vegetarian hash with a side of focacia and sat ourselves outside surrounded by their flowery garden nearby. You also meet the nicest people in places like this and found ourselves chatting up with this sweet young couple, a french woman and California surfer hippie. Just lovely. And so was that scone sigh.

Really friendly folks work here — the owner introduces himself to everyone as they order food at the counter. Plus, the food was delicious. I will definitely return if I’m in the area again!

We suspected some ballot-box stuffing because so many reviews were over the top. Well, they’re probably all true. We’re staying at Point No Point which is a couple minutes up the road(also a great restaurant) so we stopped by to see what all the fuss was about. Mostly organic, and completely made with love, the offering are rustic and homemade but still blend in elegant refinements when necessary. It’s our anniversary today so we were feeling like trying something new together and we’re glad we did. I wonder what we’ll have for lunch/brunch tomorrow on our way back to the city.

Well my wife’s name is Shirley … so I am IMMEDIATELY in love with this place. Upon entering on Valentine’s Day, Feb 14, 2014 … I announce … «SHIRLEY’S INTHEHOUSE!» The guy at counter immeditely gives my wife a big hug … and Welcomes us.(You see … most Shirley’s you meet are at least 65 years old! I have never met a younger Shirley than my own wife … and neither has this guy. Turns out he is the owner … and he’s a big voice … just LOVING his day. He greets each client warmly … and makes the best special coffee’s. The muffins were simply to die for!
