Jonker Honda

Lost the trust I placed on them… specially they want to do differential oil change again (Chris and service team) furthermore, I am going to report to honda canada on service department business practices.
I don’t even know these guys are doing the service we customers are paying.
Not sure what kind of organization these guys are running.
I am extremely disappointed.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! DISHONEST AT EVERY LEVEL AND OR DONT KNOW THEIR OWN BUISNESS.
I purchased a van from these guys, originally from the US. When I arrived to purchase I was given the figures for the van plus the standerd admin /​transfer fee of 500.00 (or there about) plus a 400.00 wheel /​rim warranty cost. I saw the financing people and discussed the extended warranty and was offered the ultimate package for a bit less than 3000.00.
I had a different used vehicle I bought some time before from a different seller and I had purchased extended, 3^rd party warranty. I had some issues after the fact with the warranty company honoring the warranty because I use the vehicle for my business.
Based on that experience I asked the woman who was recommending this warranty if there are any issues with the warranty given that the van will be used for my buisness. I was assured that absolutely not, not an issue at all. Their 3^rd party warranty company is the best.
Ok, I was on a tight schedule, gave them a 2000 deposit and told them I would return for the vehicle the following day.
That evening as I thought about it I was wondering why I was being made to purchase a wheel /​rim warranty. It was clearly An additional cost of purchasing the vehicle as implied by the salesman (Monster) but if it’s the cost of a warranty, for 1 year I might add. Why, if it’s a warranty premium, is it a mandatory cost above the the purchase price? It didn’t make sence.
The next day I called the salesman and asked him about it and if it’s a warranty premium is it not optional? His answer, «oh, no we always just add it» like he’s doing me a courtesy, doing me a favor. Of course I opted out of it. When I returned later to pick up the van he told me, «so sorry for the confusion» like there was any. The simple fact is he thought he could get away with slipping an additional few hundred in commission and I would not be the wiser.
It does not end there.
My wife and I are there the next day to pay for the vehicle. We are in the finance office.
Again the woman is advising us on the warranty. I’m interested in the warranty but I want to have a look at the contract. I ask to see a copy, a copy of a contract that these people probably sell on a daily basis but for some reason she does not have a copy on hand for me to review.
I ask how long I have to purchase the warrenty?. She tells me that she can actually offer it to me for 2700 if I get back to her within the week. I’ve told her I want to have alook at the contract and will look online. AGAIN I ASK ABOUT THE USE OF THE VAN FOR MY BUSINESS, HER RESPONCE «NO PROBLEM, NOT AN ISSUE.»
I am told that it’s not a problem not to buy warranty today as we have BUMPER TO BUMPER on the vehicle for 3 months /​3000 km.
Ok, that leaves me protected while I research the warranty for myself, and although i have every intention of purchasing their warranty (I personally would not buy a vehicle without it) I just want to read the contract and see what the price may be if I purchase it privately, I understand I don’t need to buy it from the dealership.
We pay for the van and leave.
It was impossible to find a copy of the contract online for this particular warranty company. I call honkers again, speak to someone else in finance dept and finally they fax over a copy of the agreement.
I read the agreement and what do I find? right ere in black and white it states restrictions on vehicles used for BUISNESS. I call honkers and ask them about what I’ve read. They tell me they are going to have to get back to me.
When they do finally get back to me I’m told that first it can’t be warrentied because it’s being used for BUISNESS and secondly because it’s from the states.
Now I have a vehicle for which Ive got a measly 3 mos 3000 bumper to bumper. A van for which there is no option to purchase an extended warranty.
I take the van to my mechanic to have a look at and though all looks well the front ball joints need replacing.
I call honkers to book an appointment to repair and I’m told their 3mos, 3000 km warranty is not bumper to bumper but drive train. So for the few hundred dollars it would have taken to at least satisfy me after all that’s happened, they decline to replace the ball joints.
had I known that my option not to purchase additional warranty was not available I would not have purchased the van. I would have bought new.
They were decietfull when they tried to sell me the wheel warranty.
They were deceitful about the 3^rd party warranty. Had I not decided to have a look before I purchased it they would have almost 3000.00 of my dollars and I would not know any better of my not being eligible for the warranty until I tried to use it and got declined.
What a tremendous surprise that would have been. Would honkers have given a damn when that scenario unfolded? I think not.
They were deceitful when they told me BUMPER TO BUMPER for 3 mos, 3000 km.

My faith in Honda is restored! This dealership (which I purchased my used car from) completely went above and beyond extraordinary service levels. My block cracked and my 7 year old car that needed a new engine was replaced with no warranty :) thank you Jonker Honda. Without you my car was on its way to the scrap yard to be stripped for parts. Or alternatively a $ 2000 engine was needed to fix this one in a million issue. These guys care.

Called for to book an appointment for regular maintenance service. Customer service was pretty abismal.

Booked an appointment for an oil change and it took 2 hours. They estimated jt would take 50 mins and they knew I was waiting. Totally unacceptable, will not be back.
Updated. They continue to call me to remind me to service my car. I tell them every time I will not be bringing my car in ever but they keep calling.

This place gives dealerships a bad name!!! Earlier in the summer went in for an oil change (not my usual place but out of convenience), and the guy starts to list all this stuff which is wrong with my car. Then he went on to say how the last oil change was not done properly and could have caused my car major damage.
Hmmm thats funny because my last oil change was at Richmond Honda, the guy did not respond to this and then I asked if their information did not cross reference to which he told me they are independant. Needless to say I got just the oil change since I had done a full check of my car at Richmond Honda not too long ago.
For my peace of mind I called up Richmond Honda made an appointment, and got them to check my car over, particularily items that Jonker Honda had said were wrong. Richmond Honda stated that the car was fine, and that they fully stood behind their last check up. To boot, they did not even charge me for the check up, once I told them why I was back after such a short time.
Would never deal with Jonker Honda !!!
