Life Skills Therapy was founded in 2011 by Amit Kumar, Occupational Therapist, and Lakshmi Gupta, Occupational Therapist.

Meet the Business Owner

Amit K.

Business Owner

Amit has been practicing occupational therapy for over 14 years. He has extensive experience in providing community based occupational therapy to clients with brain injuries and orthopaedic conditions. Amit has had a variety of international experiences which include establishment of two occupational therapy departments. He has worked extensively with clients with brain injuries and orthopaedic conditions in various countries including Canada, Ireland, Kuwait, and India. This has prepared him to work with a diversity of cultures in the Greater Vancouver area. Amit’s past occupational therapy experience includes work in neurology, orthopaedics, eldercare, wheelchair and seating prescription, vocational rehabilitation, and chronic pain management.

Amit is certified in Neuro Developmental Therapy from NDTA, USA; and trained in Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) from the University of Bradford, UK. He is also trained in seating and complex postural management from the UK.
