Great shop, a mainstay of Bloor for well over a decade. Still the best for power cords, adapters and wall warts of every description, and also speaker wire, resistors, capacitors, fuses, hackable parts, reclaimed computer parts, cheap batteries, and occasional audio components. Prices are reasonable, the owner somehow always knows what he has and where it is, I’m probably in there every couple weeks for something or other. Highly recommended!

This place is my go-to for electronic bits. The owner is really knowledgeable, and the quality is always good. Not to mention the very fair prices. I recommend this place to all my friends, and typically try here first before going anywhere else for my cable/electronic piece needs.

Petit magasin de quartier où vous trouverez tous les articles electroniques afin de configurer votre ordinateur/TV ou sound system. Le proprio est très sympa et reprendra volontiers un article s’il n’est pas compatible avec votre installation. Nice little shop where you can find all the regular electronics article to setup your laptop/TV/sound system installation. The owner is very helpful and will gladly take back an article if it is not compatible with your system.

ABOVEALLISSTILLOPEN! It did not close it moved west about two blocks. It is now on the south side of the street. I forget the number but it’s about 650. I was in there today and found just the part I was looking for.

Though maybe not as big as that other electronics surplus store on Queen Street, this is my place to hit up for random cables and gadgets. I never seem to spend more than 20 bucks at a time here and can find basically anything I am looking for. It’s one of those shops where you might come in for some batteries or some kind of adapter and you will find other little knick-knacks that you can use or have been meaning to get. The prices are dirt cheap but some of the products are flimsy so beware. You are best just sticking to the sort of things you can’t lose with, such as stereo cables, extensions, splitters and other fool-proof gadgets. Staff is always nice and helpful. You would have to be a fool to choose a store like Best Buy over this when it comes to the little things.

While big box electronic stores aren’t the worst thing ever, it’s really too bad that a by-product of their existence is that more places like this don’t exist. Above All is computer and electronic surplus store, not unlike Active Surplus, but specializing in, you guessed it, computer and electronics parts. You can pretty much find everything of this nature in here. Batteries. Computer cables. TV cables. Used monitors. Cable adaptors. Pretty much everything down this vein. And it’s all extremely cheap, which again makes me sad that big box stores have stomped most places like this out of existence. I’ve only ever seen one guy behind the desk here, and he’s always been very helpful to me. I’d recommend having at least an idea of what you’re looking for before going in, but if you don’t, the shop owner will help you out as much as he can.
