As a criminal defence lawyer in Ontario, Richard Aitken gained experience in his early legal career. He was approached by the local Crown Attorney to assist as a part-time Assistant Crown Attorney. He focused more on a criminal practice. Over the years this focus shifted increasingly to include cases involving Impaired Driving, DUI, and Criminal Charges the area that now forms the basis of his practice. Mr. Aitken’s experience prosecuting provides a considerable advantage in defending, having learned prosecutorial tactics and strategies.
In 1999, he acquired the practices of Harry Robertson and John Robertson Q.C. and founded Aitken Robertson Barristers & Solicitors, eventually bringing in 6 other lawyers to assist him in building a successful firm.
