Amego Electric Vehicles retails and distributes electric bicycles, electric scooters and e-​bikes. At its dealership downtown Toronto, you can rent, test, service, and purchase electric bikes.

Amego EV carries Bionx, Stromer, A2B, Evo, E-​Prodigy, Haibike, iZip, and Daymak e-​bikes.

History

Established in 2011.

Amego Electric Vehicles designs and distributes its own like of scooter and bicycle style e-​bikes. Amego was launched at the 2011 International Car Show in Toronto. Opened its first retail store on Queen St. W. in May 2011 and sold A2B electric bicycles and its own electric scooters. In April 2012 Amego moved to Portland and Richmond St. W. where they sell Amego, A2B, Toba, Bionx, E-​Prodigy, and Velec electric bikes. Along with a large selection of accessories and parts. In May 2014 Amego expanded its retail space and now has a dedicated service and rental space for ebikes.

Business Owner

Virginia Block is the owner and founder of Amego Electric Vehicles. While consulting in the energy industry she was asked to evaluate an electric motorcycle company from Switzerland. While performing the due diligence, she discovered e-​bikes in North America that require no insurance, no licence and free parking. Thought it would be a revolutionary way to change the way people transport themselves around cities and get more cars off the road. She then went to China, visited multiple manufactures of batteries, controllers, motors, frames, and fairings; hired an R&D team lead by a Canadian who converted 4 stylish gas models to electric and has not looked back since. She loves the industry and the impact electric bikes are making on the environment.
