The class was fine, but the porch of the house is dark — the only lighting being the one that falls through the door — and the porch itself is one step lower than the hallway area. There is no warning notice on the door, either. I lost my balance, twisted my ankle and(as confirmed later in a hospital) torn a ligament. When, doubled over in pain, I hobbled back to the reception area and told the staff what happened, they responded, or rather not responded, with total indifference. No one said they were sorry that it happened, and no one as much as offered me a glass of water. I sat there for a while and then took myself away — luckily, my car was parked not too far from the facility. To add insult to injury, a few days later I received a letter from Red Tree Yoga management, expressing a hope that I liked the class and urging me to come back. I responded by describing what had happened. I was expecting an apology and maybe an extension of my membership by the time I have lost because of the injury, as simple human decency dictates. However, my e-mail was completely ignored — not even a simple«We are sorry this happened to you». So, to sum it up, the facility itself is fine, but be careful around it because the staff is definitely not going to care about your well-being, one way or the other.

My first Bikram experience was at Red Tree Yoga when I bought a groupon for 10 classes. I noticed a change in my body right away after doing two classes a week for a few weeks. I also notice an improvement in my focus outside the yoga studio. Needless to say I bought a 20 class package. Red Tree is a clean facility with knowledgeable staff. The studio is big enough for over twenty people, and there are windows, which I like. The change room is always clean, there is communal liquid soap in the showers. There are mats and towels for rent, and water for purchase. The prices are reasonable. The package prices are also reasonable. The reason this isn’t a five star review is because I have no other Bikram studio to compare it to, but I highly recommend Red Tree Yoga.

A great yoga studio in South Etobicoke. It was completely renovated and has a large practice room with 4 big windows. As an interior designer, I appreciate the design aspects that were incorporated into the studio(heating through the floor, lighting hidden behind the bulkhead in order to not blind you while you are lying in savasana and staring straight up, plenty of storage space downstairs, etc). It can be busy on weekends, as is true with most good yoga studios. I tend to go on weeknights and early on the weekends, and find there is always enough space. I’ve tried Moksha and many other hot yoga studios, but find Bikram at Red Tree to be the most challenging and rewarding — exactly what I was looking for. Teachers are also great and helpful, too.
