History

Established in 2012.

Cloakroom started with a variety of online and in-​store pop-​up shops and then settled comfortably in their current location in the Summerhill area, as well as online at www​.shop​cloak​room​.com.

In 2011, Cloakroom’s buyers worked closely with Californian brands that had a huge Canadian following on their own e-​commerce sites. The brands felt bad that their Canadian Customers had to pay high rates for duties and shipping, but sadly couldn’t find a way around it as they were smaller designers. Then Cloakroom entered the picture. They brought these Californian brands closer to the Canadians that love them and ordered them straight from Cali. Now, they don’t have to worry about duties and shipping! Majority of the clothes are the same price that they are sold for in the US!

With over 15 combined years of experience in the fashion industry, sisters Meira and Tamara have been at the forefront of what’s happening in fashion!

Meira moved back to Toronto after working for many years in the fashion industry in LA and went in search of the amazing Californian designers she wore only to come up empty handed. Begging her sister to come with her to LA fashion market week to come see new designers, the two begrudgingly flew to the state of sun and surf and a couple of beach soaked hours later Cloakroom was born.
