Spoke with a knowledgeable and friendly staff member today as I had called beforehand asking for painters pants. Being a newbie to the business itself, he was really helpful with answering questions that I had. I only give 4 stars because I have yet to try any of the services offered.

I can’t seem to find the Dulux paints I visited in Hamilton near Stoney creek — a shame really because the service I received was far from friendly. I bought wallpaper but had to return unused rolls. the store manager volunteered his advice at the time of purchase that I would have no problem returning my unused-unopened rolls so of course I relied on his statement and purchased more than I should to be on the safe side. in any event when I returned two weeks later with the 2 rolls, receipt and the original bag the overly zealous store clerk who looked all of about 15 years of age questioned my purchase in such a way that she made me feel like a criminal. she looked over the receipt, the wallpaper and then turned to the manager indicating that she wasn’t sure if she could make the return?! I told her that the manager — who made the original purchase who was also in the store assured me that I could indeed return the rolls. after a huff under her breath she asked for my phone number, address, etc. what the heck? I paid cash for this paper and had plenty of identification so why must she be like this? mi purchased this on my debit card so all I wanted was a credit back on my debit card. is that so difficult? needless to say I gave a bogus phone number and a Manitoba address. that ought to teach them!!! I will never ever go there again and I advise anyone to check their return policy and ask for complete details. and I also suggest they hire someone with a little more enthusiasm and personality.

Okay, not the cheapest paint store in the world, but very helpful friendly service. I’m one of those annoying people who asks a lot of questions, particularly when repairs or something like that is involved. The sales guy was very informative of the kind of paint we should get,(we were covering a dark/deep colour with another deep colour), how much we should buy, and didn’t even try to oversell us on more paint. The prices are pretty high, $ 68 for a large can of their diamond level paint, but they have a 2 for 1 sale until the end of this week, I believe. I’m hoping the paint is really good, I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. They also offer free coffee, but it wasn’t very good. I think they need to give their coffee maker a deep clean.
