Kelsie is a star! I had chemical damage from a bad highlight experience and over a year Kelsie helped get my hair back to heathy! She gave me realistic expectations about what we could do considering the damage my hair endured, was very knowledgable about what products could help and cut my hair in a way that managed the breakage. I’m so impressed by her and would highly recommend her!

So after many times having hair cut with Kay, I noticed a pattern in how successful the cut will be. Book her for early hours at the beginning of the day. You will get good results.

I went to see Kay a few days ago. I have unruly curly hair that I smooth out. I knew immediately that she was listening well. She understood what I was dealing with and what I wanted and needed. I have wound up with a super haircut. I have been in Canada for 12 years, having come from London, U. K and never found a hair stylist as good. Kay has literally transformed me.

We have recently moved in to the area. When I saw this place, I thought it would be nice to have a hairstylist close by so one Saturday morning I popped in to look around. While looking around the store I have noticed on one of the shelves plastic brushes that resembled exactly a brush I have for detangling my hair. I wanted to buy this brush for my daughter. I couldn’t find the price on the package so I went to the lady(short, medium long dark hair) at the cash register to ask how much it was. «The price is there!», she said rudely and went to the shelve to show me. She grabbed the brush and pointed her finger at the price label I was guilty of not noticing earlier. Wow, I’m sorry lady I have offended you in any way on this beautiful Saturday morning! I don’t think I will ever go back there. I am positive, I will not go back there ever again. If they treat potential customers like that right in the beginning, the service must suck there too. By the way, the plastic brush was $ 26 and it looked exactly like the one I bought for myself a few months earlier somewhere else and paid $ 6.

Had my hair highlighted and balayaged with Kelsie — she was amazing! Listened to what I wanted but also gave realistic expectations and advice on what she thinks would work best, which is exactly what I want from someone who should be an expert at what they do. She walked me through the entire process and the end results were great. Although she ran a bit behind, and was unable to complete my blowout, she handed me over to Xiao who gave me the best blowout I’ve ever had. seriously I didn’t want to wash my hair knowing I wouldn’t be able to ever get those same results myself. Customer service was overall great, with the multiple offers of a beverage including wine! I will definitely be back!

I come to Flaunt on a regular basis(every two weeks) and they never seem to fail. From the front desk service by Amanda and the reminder calls by Mitchell. Andrea is my stylist and she rocks it every time. She comes up with creative looks and gives me her recommendations on new trends and styles. I would recommend Flaunt as it gives you a piece of flare to your dull life.

The first time I went to this place, I loved it. Ivan gave me an amazing cut. Walked out feeling like a new person. Couldn’t wait to go back for a followup. I was a couple of weeks later than the 8 weeks I usually do it so my hair had grown out quite a bit. I basically told him I wanted the same thing as last time and Im not sure who he thought I was but the cut was nothing like the last time. It was so boring. Its way too expensive to walk out with boring hair. Kind of turned me off and I’ve made my way back to Fiorio on cumberland.

I have been at Flaunt Boutique for over a year now, I have gotten great haircuts and recently great dye job. The studio is easy to get to, the inside is very warm and welcoming and has this cool industrial feel and look to it. It’s like… a mix of industrial chic. The receptionist are always kind and offer to take your coat right away. They then always ask if you want something to drink(coffee, tea, water…) while you wait(I usually get there 10 – 15 min early). My favourite stylist is Laura! Perhaps because she was the first person I saw there, but I have always been very happy with the way she cuts and dyes my hair. I have had to sit with other stylist as well whom were very very competent and skilled while Laura was on holidays. When you first sit in the chair, it is very important for them to learn more about you, and what your vision of your new hairdo. It’s usually a good 5 – 10 min talk to make sure that they recreate what you want. They give really useful tips and great advice to how to shape hair, etc. I hope this review helps someone who is debating to try the salon or not! Very friendly environment and talented staff! :)

Had my hair styled here two months ago from Adriana. I am still getting compliments on this cut. I can’t wait until I’m back in town so I can go back!

Oh well, i got really surprised to get what I’ve got after all the reviews I read about this place. The welcoming part was nice, and the master was nice and friendly also, but unfortunately the haircut itself didn’t meet my expectations at all. The most important thing that at the salon my haircut looked fine even though I didn’t have«the wow» feeling. You know, the feeling when you are so happy with your new haircut and you checking every single mirror, window and mirrored surface. It was an OK haircut so far. But after I got home, I washed my hair and I tried to style them. God.that s when I realized that it was just awful. It seemed like it was just chopped bluntly and rough, the back was very uneven. I asked for a longbob, so I knew, that on the back it will be an inverted semi-circle, but it looked more, like somebody grabbed my hair from the back and just chopped a chuck off. Also I had some strands that were longer that the whole haircut, as it was just left unnoticed. The haircut was made by Kelsey, I guess it was a mistake to go to the colorist to get a haircut. After all I had to go to another salon to fix my hair. I received a very nice haircut, which looks very nice even if without styling.

Just received an amazing cut, colour, highlights and style by Laura. It is refreshing to receive such personalized service. Laura consulted with me, giving me wonderful styling tips and made sure I loved my new style. I cannot praise enough this delightful service and experience. Thank you

Visited Flaunt yesterday and the lovely Kelsey took remarkable care of me. It’s the first REAL consult I have had about my hair. She took me carefully through her reasoning for the recommendations she was making. And when I had questions about colour treatment(even though I was only in for a cut) she took the time to explain ALL the options and broke it all down to what was the best for me considering my hair and my budget. Wow. Then she started cutting. She stayed engaged in the conversation we were having(not all stylists do that) and, when she needed to, she drew my attention to things she was doing with my hair. She totally understands that her clients want a cut that will look the same when styled at home as it does when you walk out of the salon. And I can tell you, I also got a cut that didn’t need to be re-styled when I got home. It was perfection. And today, it looks just like it did yesterday. She recommended a product that would benefit my hair and there was no overt sales pitch. But I was happy to buy it. And talk about reasonable prices — wow wow wow. Will keep on going back. What a fabulous experience.

OMG! amazing. i had an appointment with Adriana today. i’m so glad i waited a month for an appointment with her, coz it was totally worth it. i showed her a pic, asked her opinion, she concurred and voila! my makeover was done. she makes it look so effortless, but the precision of her cut shows her true genuis. i have never been one of those«i only trust xxx with my hair», but i just got converted. Not using any other salon from now on.

I stopped by this über-hip locale on my way to the climbing gym one evening and booked a haircut. I was in need of a trim, the vibe was cool and reviews great. Several years later this is still my go-to. Laura is awesome. I’m adding myself to the list of Unilocalers who are totally in love with this place.

I highly recommend this salon. Tamara(the esthetician) and Ivan are simply two magicians. Tamara has very gentle hands and her manicure is the best one I have ever had. She is a perfectionist. Ivan is a true artist, he will transform you into a different person right in front of your eyes. If you let him, he will take you out of your limits of what you thought can be done with your hair. The atmosphere is very cool and everyone is super friendly. A+!

I have a new favourite salon! I’ve been searching for a new salon for a while, and after a few OK experiences with group buy website coupons and seemingly pricey, yet mediocre salons, I was ready to pay a bit more to get a good haircut. My hair is very temperamental, it’s fine and prone to breakage, so I cannot overestimate the importance of a hair stylist that knows how to cut and style it properly. I made an appointment with Kay at Flaunt after much consideration and I am happy to say I’m sold on the salon. It’s a very trendy place, which may scare away some people who are looking for a simple experience, but look beyond it because it will be worth your money. When I walked in, I was promptly greeted by the girl at the counter. She offered to take my jacket and then proceeded to ask me if I wanted water, coffee, tea or wine! I was so surprised that I didn’t take advantage of the wine offer. Next time! I waited only about 5 minutes to be approached by Kay. Very friendly, easy to talk to girl, with a passion for art in many forms. I usually don’t talk to my hair stylists but I spent the entire time she was cutting my hair talking to her. She asked me what haircut I wanted and after I explained it to her, she gave me her own opinion and suggested a style she thought would work for my hair. It was very nice to hear because far too often stylists go with what you ask for and don’t question it and you end up with a less than perfect hairstyle. The haircut itself took a very short time(in total, I was there about 30 min., that’s including the wait and blow drying), and Kay did an amazing job! Not only did she do exactly what she promised — gave my hair some layers, cut it exactly to the length that I wanted(no more telling the stylist to cut my hair an inch longer just so I can get the length I actually want) and it looked amazing! I’m still doing a little happy dance every time I end up in front of a mirror because I love my haircut. The best thing is(and that to me is a sign of a good haircut), I can let it dry naturally and it still looks great! Low effort, high satisfaction. I would recommend the salon. Bear with the trendiness, drink your complimentary wine and get the haircut you deserve. It’s worth the money, and it’s cheaper than some lower quality, pricier salons.

Just visited this salon today — I’ve been bouncing around salons in the area a little since I moved here. First I want to say that I have«easy» hair and am usually pretty happy with my haircuts. The receptionist was a very sweet guy who made me feel instantly welcomed, which is an impressive feat at such a trendy salon. This continued when I met my hairdresser, who was also friendly and made me feel at ease. We talked about my hair plans a little and she was very thorough. Actually, she was thorough the whole way through, asking what my preferences were each step of the way and telling me about what she was doing and the products she was using. I’m planning on growing out a pixie cut and she made it sound like it would be something fun and exciting rather than something I’d have to put up with for a year or so. So far, this has been true: I am happy with the haircut I got and plan on going back.

This place was simply one of the best hair salons I’ve been to. Having many, many(which is an understatement) bad experiences with hair dressers, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service, style and most importantly, the price. I had a blow out done with a glass of wine in hand and it was the perfect start to a very eventful day — all for $ 40!

My hair cut appointment was set for 12 Noon… I finally sat in the chair for the cut around 12:45. Waiting 45 minutes is not cool. Not sure if the stylist was slow, or overbooked, or was just running late. Either way, I was planning on leaving the place by 12:45 so that I could get my kids to the dentist appointment.(Which I was subsequently late for by 15 minutes… domino effect!) The place is nice though. Well decorated. Staff all seemed friendly. Shampoo girl was really nice and the receptionist was nice too. Music /ambiance was good. I was in such a rush I really didn’t have time to really look at the haircut. Had to go to my local salon to get it touched up the next day as there was some noticeable differences between the right and left side of my head :-) I probably will not be back.

Hallelujah!!! I have found a stylist with whom I can form a committed relationship. I am tempted to buy a dress and throw a party with cake… for serious… this took a long time. Flaunt is for most(overly westside oriented) Torontonians a little out of the way, but holy mother, the place is worth the trek(I actually have a friend in Roncey that does just this). It’s an industrial space that offers a great, non-stuffy atmosphere and as one should expect from any stylist, an amazing cut that is what I asked for and grows with me. I love that I can indulge in my perfect version of what a trip to the salon should be: a glass of wine and girl talk, followed by me walking out beautifully tussled and ready for whatever the city has in store for me. It’s therapy on so many levels… affordable therapy! Ditch your overpriced Yorkville snobfest and try my girl Kay on:)
