You know you have a good hair dresser when they genuinely care about you. I ALWAYS go wherever my hair dresser goes. Natasha, wonderful caring Natasha is absolute AMAZING!!! I messaged her couple days ago requesting if she can redo (color) my hair. Not only she went above and beyond, but she had also move her schedule around just so she can make time for me. As always, she knows what exactly to do, and reassured me that it will come out fantastic. I’ve been her loyal customer for over 3 years and I refuse to go to anyone else. She’s absolute divine!!! I commend Natasha for her customer service, her amazing talent, and her amazing personality. I wish Natasha and the whole gang a wonderful new year and more business your way! Rest assured that you will get more clients from me 100% guaranteed.

Grayce did our consultations to begin with– which she gave a lot of helpful information. She picked wonderful Colors and a great cut!
The assistant (Kira I think her name was) took so much time into styling our hair which was nice!

I wrote a review on google reviews and I see today that they had it removed! I know bad reviews aren’t good for business, but it’s only fair that people know as much information about a place as they can before they trust themselves to your care!
So here I go again, letting my experience be known to others. I’m not saying all their services are bad, I just had a bad experience myself.
I walked in and they were very pleasant, I told Grace that I wanted my bright blonde hair dulled a bit at the top to a kind of dirty blonde. She proceeded to haphazardly take bits of my hair, tease it, and then put the dye and foil on. She didn’t even section my hair into parts. She then left me with that heat thing spinning around my head and went to attend to another customer, leaving me there with my scalp burning. This just made me feel rather neglected.
When the foil was taken off, I was in shock… my hair was DARK brown! I hoped that when they washed it it would be lighter, but as they starting blow drying it I realized that wasn’t going to happen and I started crying. They then proceeded to try and fix it by putting bleach in my hair and washing it again, but this did not help at all, and some of the blondes parts looked sightly green.
I let them blow dry it out, and didn’t say anything, I payed them and left. i’m not one to confront people, but I was really mad about the job they did. I then proceeded to the McDonalds on the corner and went to the bathroom stall to cry. I was sobbing. This was by far the worst hair experience I have ever had!!! And I can’t believe they removed my other review!!!
DO NOT GO HERE FOR COLOUR!!!

I think I have found my new hair dresser! First off, I love that it’s located in Queen West’s fabric and beads district. I now have an excuse to go down there. — I can get my haircut and then splurge on sewing materials or jewelry supplies. (Perfect for those fashion/​crafty people)
I got my hair cut today by Sebastian. He’s a sweet young guy who makes you feel super comfortable as you get your hair carefully disheveled (I loved talking to him about fashion in particular). I loved that Sebastian cut and styled my hair exactly the way I wanted. He listened to what I wanted and wasn’t afraid to ask me questions to clarify. I felt amazing leaving the salon. Definitely worth a $ 60 haircut.
One final note: the entire staff makes you feel so welcome. Most of the hairdressers say hello to you when you come in (in particular, Mario, Dante, and Grace are quite friendly).

Got a gloss color by Hanah — she did a great job, the color was exactly what I wanted, the style was done very well (my hair is insanely difficult to deal with) and it was just an enjoyable salon experience overall — everyone was so friendly and the place itself is beautiful. I’ll be coming back for sure!

Went recently and while I would probably go back, I wasn’t 100% satisfied with my hair. I booked Grace for a colour and didn’t get what I wanted. I tried to go back to get it fixed but she still didn’t quite get what I was trying to go for. Even though I made it perfectly clear what the style was, she kept trying to convince me it wouldn’t work, it would be «too bold» and my hair was too short (guess how many people with hair my length I see rocking this style on a DAILY basis?). I didn’t want to rock the boat so I just let her do what she wanted but as SOON as my hair grows out a little I’m gonna see about getting it fixed elsewhere.
Like I said, I’d probably go back (for literally anything else) as in every other aspect the service was good and I do blame myself on some level for not standing firm in what I wanted (it WAS my first time, and her role on City TV kind of intimidating me tbh).
Ah well, shit happens.

This review is for the amazing Perla who does my Brazilian waxing. (Fun Fact: She’s from Brazil!)
It’s nearly impossible to get a good Brazilian wax in Toronto if you’re a male. The place I used to go did an awful job and charged nearly double what I pay with Perla. The process began by undressing my cold shivering body in a cavernous room and climbing onto an autopsy table. Then my waxer (a new one each time) would place a napkin on my penis as to preserve my decency — oh the shame and embarrassment at the inevitable ‘tip slip.’ Naturally, since they refused to look at what it was they were waxing I was always left with hairy patches that just looked stupid. Talk about being «ripped off.»
But then I found Perla! ZERO attitude, really thorough and communicative. Her small intimate room feels warm and comfortable which is important for those sensitive areas cause you will want some distractions. Waxing down there inevitably hurts but not nearly as much as the last place — seriously, no big deal guys — she takes the time to trim if need be (which makes it hurt less) and she’s really experienced — the last place made me bleed quite often. Ultimately I go back not because how much fun it is to get waxed but because the results are perfect. ZERO attitude means no napkin or concealing of any kind: you can point and describe the amount of manscaping you want and where you want it and she wont miss a spot. I love that Perla is so comfortable with herself that theres no tension when I’m sitting there exposed — I’d like her to continue feeling comfortable waxing men so PLEASE: no creeps, perverts or disrespectful people.
Highly recommended.

I had my make-​up done twice here by Grace for two weddings and was quite happy! Both times I wanted a «natural» look but it was slightly different each time. I just let her do her magic.
She’s patient and friendly. I explained that I had sensitive skin and wanted to use my own concealer and foundation and it wasn’t a problem. She’s also really fast and finished my make-​up in less than 15 minutes. I also thought $ 38 was a good price.
The only thing that really disappointed me was the up-​do. When I called, I was quoted $ 75 and was given a woman’s name. However, when I showed up, they assigned me Mario.
I didn’t think much of it but when I started talking to him and showing him a photo of the updo I wanted, I thought he was condescending and indirectly made fun of me. It was a «messy/​elegant» style.
He also blamed my hair saying that it wasn’t long enough and it was too layered but was going to «try» anyway. You know what? I didn’t say it at the time but I looked hideous! No way I was going to walk around like that!
I took a deep breath and politely said, «This wasn’t what I expected» and kindly asked him to do another updo; something more simple and would «work» with my hair. So at the end, I ended up getting a simple «tucked» chignon. It was OK but not what I had originally wanted. Then I was charged $ 95!
Anyway, even if my hair wasn’t «suitable» for that updo, at least say it politely. I just thought he had an attitude and I would never recommend him to my friends.
I still love Grace though. She’s great! I’m just going to stick with the make-​up.

This review is just for the waxing service by Perla. I’ve never had my hair cut here.
I’m hesitant to write this review because I don’t want her to get any more popular. I actually followed her here from another salon. Seriously, she is the shit. The shit. Fast, not crazy painful, clean and I don’t leave with any of that red, inflamed skin that happens at other places. Plus, she’s comfortable, you know? No awkwardness here.

I’ve been going to see Mario (the owner) for close to ten years now — he’s a genuinely great guy and he knows his way your head. He’s so good, I sent my mother his way and now she drives 70 km to see him each time.
The rest of the staff is good too. Grace, the other co-​owner, is a Revlon colour educator and appeared on CityLine on a weekly basis. For one of the girls, I was her first haircut. Mario watched her like a hawk. You should have seen her sweat! But with what she’s learned there, she did a great job.
The shop is beautiful and always changing. The new façade looks fantastic. Beautiful work, Mario.

I have been back several times to Image makeover. The last time I went I wasn’t really happy with my hair but it worked. This last week I went back hoping to give it another go. I have the stylist specific directions which she ignored, she actually did the exact opposite. I am extremely unhappy with my hair cut. Not to mention she lectured me for dying my hair at home only to give me hot roots! Isn’t that ironic. I refuse to go back to have them fix it because don’t want to have to see her. I can’t wait for my hair to grow out so it can be fixed!

I’ve been going to Grace at IMO for as long as I can remember. Never has she given me a bad haircut and I always enjoy my salon visits.
They’ve become like an extended family to me over the years and I’ve referred many people here.
Hannah is an up and coming stylist — don’t hesitate to let her give you a new style or cut. She may be a Junior but she won’t do you wrong!
Grace is always my go to girl. Both she and Mario are experts in their field — I would recommend both — she just knows my hair best.
Grace is a Revlon Canada stylist so she fills up fast. Book your appointment ahead of time. Prices reflect her expertise, so expect to pay a premium for a cut, colour and style with her. As I said above, if you’d like to try IMO — which I recommend — give Hannah a call. Her rates are slightly cheaper and you will get maximum value for your dollar.
I’m excited to have Grace and Mario complete the hair and makeup for my wedding party in August.
