Don’t let the name fool you, they don’t sell any real or decent PC products and their Apple products are grossly overpriced.
I walked in here by accident once, after asking a few questions I noticed how computer illiterate these people are. This is just a glorified apple fanboy shop, really cringy and embarrassing to be inside.

My laptop died. I don’t quibble with their diagnosis at CSS — now also branded as «Jump» according to their business card — but the customer service is abominable. When I took the machine in on a Saturday, a staff member plugged my computer in with my power cord (to confirm I wasn’t an idiot, apparently) and then after agreeing it wasn’t working he gave me a receipt which I didn’t bother to review and said their service staff is not in on weekends. When told it was dead, I came to pick it up with my receipt but the power cord was not given and the receipt didn’t specifically say they took it! The staff member remembered me, tried to apss off an older bulkier model then said service dept is locked and he cannot even get it to look for it. Over the next few days their manager lied about what staff told me saying I brought no power cord. After threatening to sue, the manager reviewed his surveillance tapes and finally couriered me MY power cord. Review all their paperwork and for service — only weekdays!

I came here to have the battery replaced on my MacBook Pro (13-​inch, Early 2011) after reading decent reviews. They are also Apple-​certified, which helped to influence my decision.
I brought my laptop in to CSC’s temporary pop-​up location (just west of the College & Spadina store) around noon, and the work was completed by 5pm the same day. Not the cheapest service, but you get what you pay for — and the new battery works great.
Apple followed up with a service questionnaire a few days later, which was reassuring. It’s nice to know Cupertino has its eyes on its authorized resellers.
Overall, I’d return to have all of my future Apple products serviced — it beats waiting in line at the Genius Bar any day.

Came here for service on my Mac, after being quoted a two week turnaround time at the Apple store. I was told four days for the repair here, and it was complete the morning of the third day. Couldn’t be happier, and would highly recommend it over nearby Apple stores where you require an appointment.

I went here looking to buy some RAM. The salesperson checked the computer, confirmed they had the kind I was looking for, and quoted me a price more than 50% higher than what they were charging at another shop across the street. When I pointed this out, he claimed the other shop sold refurbished RAM that would probably fail — I am 95% sure this is not true. In any case, I will not be returning.

Like most of us, I cringe at the mere thought of having to make my way into the crowded and fluorescent Apple Store at the Eaton’s Centre, and when all three of my Apple products decided to crap out within two weeks of eachother, I thought all was lost. Then I found this gem of an establishment, and my stresses were finally relieved. Sam, the tech support gent, is amazing — he doesn’t scam and does everything he can to find a manageable solution for his customers. I love this place, I can’t stress enough how incredibly helpful they proved to be. Don’t go to the Apple Store, go here!

One of my iPhone chargers died and I happened to be walking past this store so I went in. They had a few customer service staff on hand and no other customers in the store so I quickly had a few options in my hand. There was a little pressure to buy a more expensive option but I stuck to my guns and only got what I really needed and saved myself the $ 5.
The store is clean and spacious and offers a wide range of products for your Apple products. I didn’t have a good enough look around to comment on prices, but based on the charger I bought I would say they’re a little pricier than the big box guys.

I am astonished at how long it took to manage a simple exchange. The staff were fine but it shouldn’t take thirty minutes, when there is no one else in the store, to swap an item, even if that item is on order. This place needs to seriously rethink its return protocols — this multi-​page order/​refund form they are filling out is completely excessive. I don’t have the time to shop here again.
Furthermore, be warned that they don’t refund your $$, even if you come back to exchange for a slightly different version of the same product (they wouldn’t credit me the $ 20 dollar difference but gave me store credit). Also you have to return within SEVEN days, or you’re out of luck. Not a store interested in customer service or repeat business.
Note: this experience is only with respect to their retail business, I don’t know one way or the other about their service business.

I had purchased products from CSC before, so I thought, «Hey, I’ll give their service department a try.» Shop local, support local biz, etc etc and so on. I needed a fan replaced on my laptop and when I called they said it would take approximately 2 – 5 days. That sounded reasonable.
So, now it’s been 15 days and I’m still without a laptop. Using my skills called «math», this sounded bad.
Over the course I had also lost two contracts because I would need said laptop to do the work. So, I tried talking to a manager about this. Left three messages asking for the manager to call me back. My phone remained silent. On a whim I called again, got put on hold to God-​awful hold music, and the manager finally got tracked down. Gosh, I hope everything was okay. I explained that I had lost revenue, I’m still without my laptop, and in talking to him, this all seemed to be working within well-​defined business parameters. I explained that I was without a laptop for two weeks and isn’t this slightly unacceptable? He seemed to think not. This is a standard service call, in his eyes. So I asked, «So there’s absolutely nothing you can do for me at this point? No dropping the cost of the parts, no reimbursement for the diagnostic, no discount at all.»
«No.»
So, congrats, CSC. You have won. Your prize? I’ll never darken your door again. I still don’t have my laptop.

My loose affiliation with CSC began in the summer of 2006 when I decided to purchase a Toshiba Satellite ’17 inch Laptop-​a beast of a machine that I have been more than happy with for the better part of our five year relationship. Not once did I stray or even consider straying until about a week ago when I got the dreaded «Blue Screen Of Death,» as a friend of mine so eloquently informed me, or a B-​SOD for those in the know.
I took my machine in to get diagnosed and easily forked over the initial hundred and change assessment fee, I expected this. I was then informed a few days later that parts of my Hard Drive had been corrupted and that to essentially get the computer back up and running would be approx. $ 500.00 and that I might consider purchasing a plot for my Toshiba. Possessing only a base knowledge of Hard Drives, RAM etc. I concluded that I may simply be better off to purchase a new machine from CSC. When I stated my intentions to the Tech, he then told me that he «may be able to get the machine back up for a limited time,» so that I could manually transfer my data to my external Hard Drive. I found this a tad strange considering that I had just been told to essentially abandon all hope, but I asked him politely if this may be done. I picked up the computer the following day and low and behold I no longer had the B-​SOD problem-​my Laptop had new life thanks to CSC. I was now able to transfer what data I needed to an external HD and decided that I may as well pony up for a new Laptop, seeing that my machine was living on borrowed time. Enter the MacBook Pro saga.
I decided to take the plunge and shift alliances from my beloved PC to a Mac, I guess all those Mac commercials with Justin Long had subconsciously struck a chord or was it a need to be seen as hip and relevant by my peers again that had truly prompted this purchase? Yet whatever may have been the root cause, I did end up purchasing a display model ’15 MacBook Pro for $ 1,600 and change which I was happy with UNTIL a friend of mine that is for more tech savvy than I scoffed at the notion of abandoning a Laptop for simply having sectors of a Hard Drive corrupted. He would be willing to show me how to not only restore but to upgrade for under $ 200.00. Needless to say I gladly took him up on this generous offer and he more than came through.
Here is where it gets interesting. I attempted to return my unopened MacBook after four days time and immediately upon entering CSC was told that I would only be able to get store credit and that there would be an automatic 10% restocking fee, so about $ 160.00 to simply return an unopened product that their technician (through ineptitude on his diagnosis) had essentially pushed me into purchasing. This fee was quoted to me before I had even been asked why I was returning the MacBook in the first place. At this point I saw the salesperson who had sold me the MacBook and caught his attention. He was exceptional and took over. I told him why I was bringing the MacBook back and he agreed-​I told him that the Technician had failed to mention that I could simply swap out my Hard Drive and that $ 500.00 was exorbitant and almost criminal. I asked him if he knew that the Techs were quoting at these astronomical prices and he essentially told me that I wasn’t the first to complain and that he would direct me to the manager «Tim.»
I was directed to «Tim» who started the refund, yet the card inexplicably wasn’t being refunded properly. This could have been a magnetic problem, a problem with global payments or a problem with the in-​house terminal so I’m not going to fault them here, But after trying and failing twice to refund my card he abruptly turned the task over to another employee.
She was fantastic and assured me that she would solve the situation, which she did. So in finally ending there were two bright spots at CSC, yet overall the experience was daunting and DO NOT TRUST THE DIAGNOSTIC ABILITIES OF THEIR SO CALLED TECHNICIANS.
They will tell you half truths, will not offer alternative solutions and the so-​called restocking fee is ridiculous-​especially for an unopened product.
I do apologize for the length of this review and know I kind of went on a tirade here, but definitely do not want others to find themselves in a similar state.

Well, it’s Sunday and I need to buy a new Mac. CSC is closed, so I guess they don’t get my business. Too bad! Off to the Apple Store I go.
I’ve been dealing with CSC for years, and I find them much better on the service side than in sales. The sales reps are hit-​and-​miss. Some know what they’re talking about, others are really just interested in up-​selling and collecting their commission. For that, I can go to the Future Shop.

Computer Systems Centre (AKA JumpIT) is the worst customer experience I have ever had. The complete lack service cannot be understated. Out of loyalty for having made previous purchases there before, I contacted them about buying a new Mac Pro workstation (major purchase). The rep Alex, did not want to even look into options I requested. He was not knowledgeable about the products. In fact, he was more worried about his commission than fulfilling my requests. There were unnecessary delays in my order. They refused my preferred form of payment so inconvenienced me by making me show up in person. Finally they held my system hostage even though I was on a corporate account with previous history and a substantial deposit. I have no faith in their post sale service either. I would complain to Apple Canada if I had an e-​mail address. Go somewhere else, they do not deserve business!

I can’t say enough good things about the lads who work at the service office of this combined computer retail/​service centre. We purchased an iMac from the retail shop on College and asked if their service shop (on the corner) could transfer everything from our old eMac onto the new machine. For a nominal fee, they did exactly that, but not before encountering a major configuration problem on the eMac that meant many hours spent rescuing thousands of corrupted files. They were brilliant at taking care of the problem (black magic as far as I can tell) and most importantly rescuing all of our family photos from the last 7 years. I recommend this shop for their outstanding service, prompt notification (when things hit the fan) and honesty. They have wonderful, caring staff that I will return to again and again, whenever I have a computer problem I can’t resolve myself.

i have passed by this place a billion times over the years on my way to many a meal of chinese food and i have wondered and wondered and wondered.
i have thought, that because of the general flotsam and jetsam that chinatowns the world over are famous are for, that this place too, would be seedy and filled with pirated software or dvds. (not that im averse to that, by the by), but no sirree.
within the otherwise bland exterior of this place and its massive red lettering lining the upper floors outside, lies an inner structure that is more akin to something of a modern palace. palace might be too strong a word perhaps, but its the arches that separate room from room and the ceilings that they reach that give you this impression. these arches are adorned in wood or something that looks like real wood, with dashes of metal and a marble table to support fancy amps.
i perused different sections of the store with some future purchases in mind. as a mac user i found out that i cannot use a regular stereo set of headphones (for things like skype, for example) and instead need a set of headphones that connect via usb. these are the types of items you could find here. it seems that its stock veers towards the professional versus the consumer.
they also had neat and useful add-​ons for your computer as well as the regular stuff like laptop cases, hard drives, etc. for example, there was a revolving attachment that you could slide onto your iMac so thats it could revolve at its base 360 degrees, which could prove quite useful in a communal work environment.
im glad to have found this place as a resource for mac items and other more specialized computer related products.
