Ok let me start off by saying that the Knights inn and downtown Toronto is a one star hotel… so my expectations were fairly low to begin with. I’ve stayed at my fair share of cheap hotel without issue. I booked this hotel through Priceline despite the ominous reviews because the pictures made the hotel look perfectly doable. Let me just say that this place is a total crap hole! The first night we checked in was the worst. There is no parking lot for hotel guests and street parking was permit only — so we had to park about 2 blocks away and paid $ 15/night to park. The Asian guy at the front desk was useless and rude! The first hotel room we stayed in smelled bad and was roughly the size of a closet(seriously!) There were holes in the wall and the floor board had fallen off the wall completely. There was a small fridge in the room that was unplugged(useless) and there was a trash bag taped over the air conditioner. Worst of all were the fact that the walls are paper thin. We had some rowdy neighbors in the room next to us. I asked the Indian guy at the reception desk to ask them to be quieter. Surprisingly our neighbors did quite down — but again the walls are so paper thin that even when they talked at a normal volume I could still hear every word — and they didn’t stop talking until 3AM! We asked to be moved to a new room the next day. The second room we moved to was a little bigger than the first, but still in rough condition. The blinds were broken letting all the light in from the windows. Luckily our new neighbors were much quieter. However the second night there was zero hot water to take a shower — so I had to wait til the next morning for the hotel to get the heat back on. Bring your own blankets as there is almost no heat in the hotel. The morning breakfast is a complete joke so you’ll wanna bring your own food or find a good breakfast place.

Really nice place to stay for cheap. there is some food you can purchase at the front desk there is a common room where you can heat up food or eat your take out. wifi is free as well as cable the rooms have a nice big Sony TV a clock radio, a clean bathroom with lots of water pressure and a very reasonable rate

This place is disgusting. There was definitely a mouse or something in my room which was bad enough. I was there for two nights and saw it on the second night, just the tail as it scampered off. The Saturday morning of my stay last week there had been the lightest dusting of snow, it literally melted away a couple hours later, and a hotel employee was actually shovelling at 7:30 in the morning. With a metal shovel on pavement. Scrape scrape scrape at seven-thirty. In. The. Morning. This is the morning after I didn’t sleep because a car sat outside idling for over 20 minutes at 1 Am… My room was at the front of the hotel so it’s all I could hear for the time the car sat on the road in front of the hotel, dropping people off. After 7 minutes I called the front desk to ask them to request the car turn the engine off because it was disruptive and they did nothing. So if you don’t want any sleep and are comfortable with mice, stay at this place.

For the price and location, you definitely win. $ 80 for a queen bed room more or less in the center of downtown Toronto, it’s plain, no tv remote but we had the phone app to change channels. There is definitely a light smell of smoke throughout the halls and in the room. The shower looks questionable, parking is $ 10 for the night and just on the street. Kind of has the feel of a hostel to be honest. Breakfast was nice, self serve waffle maker, coffee, juice, toast and cereal. They could have given more than a sheet to sleep with, not really warm enough. Overall, I’d stay here if it was literally only one night to crash and you wanted something cheap and in the center of Toronto.

Blood on wall. Previous guests hair and dirt in shower. Noisy a/c that doesn’t work. Interior and exterior falling apart. Housekeeping never showed up to clean the room. Very small room. Crappy free breakfast, they don’t even serve orange juice instead it’s Tang. And the worst for last, no ice machine! Couldn’t even quickly get drunk to try to forget where I was staying without walking blocks to purchase ice.

RATSINTHEROOM! My fiancé and I woke up 2AM to a sound in our room. As we turned on the light, we saw a RAT on the small table in the room. We screamed and the rat ran under the bed. I immediately went to the night manager. The Night Manager seems uncaring and calm which had me worried that this was a ‘regular occurrence’. I was ready to leave ASAP but at this point it was around 2:30AM and had nowhere to go. The night manager offered to change our room and we did as we had no choice. We had to move ALL ours stuff into the other room. They put us in a extremely filthy room and we could not sleep the entire night fearing any more ‘visitors’. When the sun came out, we left early and never looked back. We spend the rest of our vacation instead of visiting Toronto doing laundry(as our suitcase was opened) and being extremely upset from that night and lack of sleep. I had to keep on calling and calling and calling for a resolution. At first he offered one night free(as we stayed three nights) then I said that was not the point. Then they offered me 50% off. Again, I said that was not the point but they refunded me the money anyways. I made a call to the hotel customer service line directly and all I got after countless phone calls was their ‘apologies’. This place needs to be checked to make sure it is sanitary and clean. IFYOUVALUEYOURHEALTHDONOTSTAYHERE!
