I’ve never paid what Vivek paid. I stop there many mornings and get the two toasted westerns on a kaiser and it comes to just over $ 8. The stuff they prepare is really good and the couple who run it are overly nice. I often see the lady shrug off taking change(watched her give back $ 2 from a $ 10 when it cost someone $ 8.25 for their meal) because she knows the clientèle for the most part are students from the local art college.

The long and short of it is, I paid $ 7.25 for a club sandwich made with cold cut chicken on grocery-store whole wheat bread.(It wasn’t even cut in quarters!) That said, it wasn’t TERRIBLE and the lady behind the counter was super nice, but isn’t this a bit expensive for lunch? I should have opted for a bagel or one of the salads. Was I hoping deep down that my sandwich would(somehow) come with a side? All I know is that I got was a sandwich smaller than my hand, Saran-wrapped to a styrofoam plate. I gotta get something cheaper next time. Or never visit again. Obligatory Title Pun: I think they made a MONKey out of me. Menu Readability: The daily specials are printed on three highly-visible chalkboards. Need to mention: They don’t take debit or credit. What this place teaches me about myself: Call me old-fashioned, but a true club has bacon, lettuce, and toothpicks. AMIRIGHT?
