Pack of Paws

I just moved to the area and got a new puppy, she’s only 5 months and I was worried about bringing her to daycare. This place really made me feel comfortable, and my dog loves it here! She’s so excited to hang out with all the other dogs! The best part is that it’s walking distance from my building and they have great hours.

My dog Oliver is difficult and not welcoming to strangers or larger dogs. Since we adopted him he’s tried attacking anything he’s scared of. I was not even able to bring him to the grommer and we had to start trimming him ourselves. I tried training at Pet Smart and it was not helpful at all. We needed to start socializing him and correcting his behavior. I was so worried about finding a daycare that would accept him. Jeff knew how to handle him, make him submissive, and correct his behavior. He was like a dog whisperer. He took all our worries away. Oliver doesn’t attack any other dogs at the daycare and spends the day playing. Oliver is improving. We have been so impressed over the last year that we are going to start private training sessions with Jeff.

My dog has never been happier, granted the place is a tad small but the staff is just mind blowing, they have knowledgeable people playing with the dogs and have their best interest in mind.
I was walking my dog across the street and he started smelling something, the person inside the daycare walked out and told me to move my dog away from the spot because there was a dead rat there. Talk about above and beyond.

I have not used the doggy daycare business, but can recommend Jeff Barnes as a wonderful dog trainer. I approached Jeff after spending 3 years trying to fix a behavioural problem (I tried three different dog trainers!) with limited success. I asked him, «Do you think you can fix it in a month?» He said, «I’ll fix it in an hour». And what do you know, he was right. If you have ever watched the amazed looks on owners’ faces when Cesar Millan (on the TV show Dog Whisperer) works his magic, you will understand my own reaction to Jeff’s handiwork. He was actually trained by Cesar himself, and it shows. His techniques and results are very similar. Besides that, he’s an incredibly nice guy, and though he could easily charge double — triple — his rate, he keeps his prices really modest. I have only gratitude in my heart for the great gift that he has given me: a peaceful life with my beautiful dog. Thanks Jeff!

My insanely hyper dog started off here once a week over a year ago… it soon turned into twice a week and now it is full time 5 days a week…
Roo used to suffer from severe separation anxiety (he chewed through a door at home before), was insanely hyper, and had territorial issues. Since going to Pack of Paws he is a different dog. Everyone at Pack of Paws has spent a lot of time working on him while he is there, and it has definitely showed. Roo absolutely adores them and this is always such a great feeling. I have to admit, I think I adore them more. I now have a dog who isn’t insanely attached to me, is nice and calm and above all else well behaved.
Definitely worth every penny.

All of the other reviews for POP are bang on– this dog centre is amazing! We’ve been taking our high energy mutt here for almost a year now, and have never been less than %200 happy! I would say this is the best pet service in the city, however to call it a «service» doesn’t seem right. For our dog Ellie, Pack of Paws is like a second family. Jeff and Diana and their growing team treat the dogs in their care as if they are their own. Their training tips and pointers have helped us curb Ellie’s separation anxiety, which had her literally destroying everything in our apartment. Most importantly, POP has taught our girl how to interact with other animals, both friendly pups who want to play or aggressive strangers. If you are considering other doggy day cares in Toronto– DON’T! Pack of Paws is puppy heaven!

Hands down the best pet service I have ever come across!
I have two dogs and i have gone to obedience training, trainers and various other pet services and pack of paws takes the cake.
Jeff is an amazing trainer who really loves dogs and having my dogs spend time at Pack of Paws is the best treat I have ever given them. (Molly not only comes back visibly happier with a very calm satified energy, Jeff takes his time explaning training methods and gives tips and pointers on what I can do on my own time Molly)
So far only one of my dogs have spent time there and the change I saw in her was immediate (positive changes). She always comes back super content, a little tired (from the exercise and playing) and ready to nap and cuddle.
I am going to start sending my other dog to the day care so she can enjoy the benefits of working with Jeff and his pack.
I very much recommend this if you need training or if you simply want a good place for your pooch to hang out during the day when you’re at work (or even if you simply want your pup to play with other dogs and go for an amazing group walk with Jeff on his rollerblades)
This is the most satisfied I’ve ever been with ANY service I have come across in all my life.
update: both my dogs have now been going to pack of paws for a month now and they are so well behaved and so happy. my finicky little one is a lot more respectful and actually comes when we call her. She also had fear of stairs which is now gone. my bigger dog who loves to jump on people and is super high energy is so much more well adjusted and calm :)

My one year old chocolate lab LOVES this place! I live close by and walk by on occasion and he pulls to go in– even when they are closed. They are friendly, experienced, and very knowledgeable. They even have been providing tips on training and exercise that on my dog while they watch him for the day. I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with them. I couldn’t ask for better people! If you are leaving your dog with anyone else– you’re nuts, and wasting your money. I’d leave my dog here everyday if I could. My dog comes home TIRED — and a tired dog is a happy dog– and my little guy is ecstatic! 5+++ stars!
