Not sure about this place. Nachos were OK, but felt like the server remembered/knew everyone else on the patio, so I got ignored once my food arrived as a result. Will probably give it another try and see how it goes. Kingston Rd is a busy street for a patio, but not a ton of options in the area.

Great family run neighborhood bar and restaurant. Food is always good, an impressive feat considering the tiny kitchen! Prices are affordable, service friendly.

Fourth or fifth visit here. I had the lamb shanks, she had the chicken. It’s not a large place, the kitchen is tiny. The food, on the other hand, is really good. Haven’t had a bad meal there yet. Price is reasonable for the location. The two young lads who run it are friendly and attentive to their guest. All in all, a great place for a meal in that part of town. The menu is basic, but well executed. I would say«Pub Food», but that doesn’t quite cover it. Lamb shanks aren’t generic to pubs. And, the lack of fries on every menu item is another good thing.

My partner and I live a few doors down from this place and visit regularly. It was one of the first places we tried when we moved into the neighborhood and we are still impressed every time we go. Great service, wonderful food from Chef Deen, some recent updates to the beer menu(Blanche de Chambly on tap? Yes, please!) and a great summer patio.

Great little restaurant and bar with an unassuming appearance. The menu has a nice diversity of selection with the right amount of items. I had the lamb burger and was pleasantly surprised as I’ve struggled to find a good lamb burger in Ontario ever since I lived in Australia. Service was excellent from Peter and he checked on our table regularly and was very friendly accommodating any of our needs. As for the restaurant itself it is quite small inside but a nice combination of decoration and design turns a small interior space into a cozy sports bar environment. Their is rather comfortable patio out front of the restaurant with nice seating. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would eat there again.

We went to The Loop for the first patio day during the summer. I had not tried it before and was open to it as it was the only patio on this part of the street, and we hadn’t been there before. Service was very slow, they told us after 60 minutes of waiting that they were really busy and they had 2 groups inside. After 75 minutes, they offered to cancel our order, before coming right back with our food — which was cold and mediocre. Even worse, they brought out the appetizer 10 minutes after they served us the main course(which was now over an hour and a half after we had ordered). Food was a 3⁄5 for the burger and the avocado dip. The service was a −2÷5. Yes — negative. No attention, no prompt service, no offer to waive the appetizer or ask if we still wanted it. Waste of money — will not return. Not when there are 2 other pubs across the street that are head and shoulders above this one. Try the Dragon for traditional fare and Feathers for something a tiny bit cozier.

We were looking at the daily special menu in front of The Loop, and a woman who just came out of restaurant insisted that we have dinner there. Solid recommendation. The specials that were being served to the table next to us looked really nice and were tempted to order the chicken breast dish. But, the items on the regular menu were also very attractive. We ordered the burger and lamb curry from the regular menu. For the burger, you have a choice between fries or salad. Salad was a good choice; very fresh with cucumber, tomato and so on. The burger was nice and thick and juicy. The bun was a bit different too. It was a very tasty burger. The lamb curry was unreal. Not overly spicy; just right for my taste. Nice veggies like egg plant are found in the curry. I am definitely having this dish again. The server was very tentative. No complaints there. As for the bar, we did not find any cocktails. Stick to the basic. We are going back.

Pretty much the only patio on that section of Kingston Road. Service is pretty good, not much selection in the way of beer or food. That being said, the few things on the menu they do have are enjoyable. Been a few times, will likely go back… But really the biggest draw is that it’s the only place close-ish to me that has a patio on which I can smoke. The inside is super teeny, wouldn’t really bother going if it’s not an outside day. Also, I know this is weird, but I love the faucets they have in their bathrooms.

Their food selection is very limited, when ordering their pizza on a week night at 5ish the waiter informed us there was no dough left, but the chef obliged us and made the pizza on a flour tortilla. Creative but not the same. It was good but not a meal, the service was great and the patio is awesome on a great weather day. Come quick as the patio fills fast. Fine for drinks but food is appetizers at best, grab the takeout at tropical Thai cuisine.

the Loop is pretty good Been there for brunch Somewhat limited options, but what you get you get it good. Omelettes have more than enough cheese and the homefries are tasty. Tough options if you cant have eggs ort gluten. Special shout-out to the French toast. Also been there for pints. Premium brands(Mill St, etc). The place is formerly a coffee house, and is laid out as such.

My husband and I went to the loop to try their weekend breakfast. Overall, it was quite good. The waitress was attentive and refilled our coffee often. It is quite small in this restaurant though. If you are looking for something with a private space to talk it is not possible here. The food was served on fancy square plates and more elegant presentation than you would normally expect at a pub. The food was hot, and our order came out the way we had asked for it. However, I would forgo the fancy for a good comfort food home-style breakfast similar to what you would get at Mars Diner.

A great bar. Best patio on Kingston Road with a cozy bar with great food and service.
