The Source Shop sells Lighting & Grip Equipment, Expendable Supplies and Accessories to the Entertainment Industry and has been doing so since 1993. We are also promotional product specialist and can provide incentives and gifts with your logo on them.

History

Established in 1993.

The Source Shop was created to fill a void in the Toronto Production Industry back in 1993. Pulling together the supplies required, often meant going to a lot of places. We spoke to crews, found out what was missing, and brought in a lot of the products that were used on a regular basis, but not carried at the equipment houses. We then created our own line of personal gear, tool belts and accessories, so that no longer did people have to modify existing police and army pouches.

This product line became Authentic Crew Gear.

To further support our industries, we sell Canada Goose Parkas, and have for 20 years, because they are simply the best for working outdoors.

Finally, at the end of a show, producers often thank the crew with a gift. Dealing with a supplier who knows their business is a big plus. So, we do that too.

Business Owner

I was first an employee of the original owner, starting 6 months after the company was opened in 1993 and completely new to the industry.

In 2000, with the owner being a Lighting Designer, Event Coordinator and Pyrotechnician, as well as trying to manage us, I took the company over for him.

I love the people that I do business, who come into the store and am so thankful to be in the position I am today. Plus, I get to bring my dog to work.
