Wind Mobile

Great location. Very easy to access by ttc by dundas streetcar or going to dundas subway and walking east along dundas. They have good deals especially for people who love unlimited data for fair pricing. Only thing I found odd was my boyfriend got a new phone and no sim worked in the phone. It was probably a bad egg in the bunch of new moto x phones. However it really shouldn’t take 3 visits one hour and a half each to get a phone up and running. Service was 4 stars they were very kind and friendly, the only thing im commenting on is how my bf had to:
a-​change his number when he shouldnt have had to even the saleswoman was saying this is ridiculous,
b-​wait a solid three days to have a working phone
c– and this is the icing on the cake, they charge him over 100 for the THREE DAYS OF A NON WORKING PHONE.
the funny part was they used the discount they gave him for him having to wait for three days on paying the charge they applied for three days of NOT having a phone.
ADVICE– Only go to wind if you drain data fast other wise try elsewhere bc there so called «growing pains» are ridiculous.

Wind mobile is ok as long as nothing goes wrong with your phone. If it does watch out! it is a mickey mouse organization with zero customer service! My 6 month old galaxy iii is having trouble. i went in to get it fixed. After disabling my sim card t hey could not enable the new one so I was told I would be with out a phone for 5 days and there was «nothing they could do» Nothing as in no replacement phone, no credit to my account nothing. I am so disappointed with wind, the big 3 are looking better sigh

My experiences with WIND have been so horrible I cant believe I live in a society that allows companies like WIND to be legal. I purchased a phone from them over a year ago and when I got home I discovered the phone didn’t receive reception anywhere within my building or even within a few hundred yards of the building, (condo in Etobicoke). Because I was past the 30 min of talk time before getting home, they said tough your stuck in the CONTRACT for the next 3 years!!! I cant say enough about the non existent customer service since I got locked into a CONTRACT with them. You have been warned. Good luck to all who hold a cell in Canada, none of us have it easy.

This store has become my preferred location. They have some level of professionalism which most of the Wind stores are lacking. The first time I walked in all the associates were busy in the front and somebody came from the back to help me. Much better than the usual store where the employees are huddled in a corner chatting and can’t be bothered to help a customer. Being next to a subway station is nice too. The store up the road constantly says I can’t pay my bill because their system is on hold. Whatever that means. I haven’t had a problem at this location.
In terms of my Wind plan, I’m fully satisfied. I traveled all over southern Ontario last year with a job. It worked everywhere. I live in a basement and signal is fine. I’ve never been capped for data. I’ve never had a billing issue. The only problem is at huge events like Pride, then its impossible to get a signal but my Rogers friends had the same issue, so I don’t think it’s just Wind.

This is an overall review of Wind Mobile.

I was sick of Rogers and Wind plans seemed great! They weren’t as big of a corporate body, they were less expensive and they had impressive phones! After a week I had to return my phone and cancel my plan.
Wind works on a higher frequency called ASW. This is why they don’t have the iPhone as the iPhone works on lower frequencies. Any time I was in my home I had no signal at all. BTW I live in downtown Toronto. When I Googled this I learned that it is a fairly common issue with Wind.
I picked up the LG Optimus 2x. My first Android phone! To make a long story short there’s a class action lawsuit in California over this phone. You can Google it for yourself.
It was an entire afternoon with three visits to 2 separate Wind locations to get my money back and get away from Wind. I will finish as I started

To clarify, this is a review of WIND Mobile services, not a specific store location. I have both a cell phone and a laptop data plan with WIND.
Pros:
— fantastic pricing — my unlimited cell phone plan cost $ 25/​mo. another $ 10/​mo. allows me unlimited calls to the US as well. no restrictions. my wifi also costs $ 25/​mo. and is technically unlimited (but with some restrictions, more below).
— good reception
— good roaming — i’ve used my phone in the US and haven’t had any problem. roaming charges are reasonable.
— fast data speed — i use the service for my laptop. initially very fast. downloads clocked in at 500 kbps. faster in my experience than rogers cable.
— convenient hardware — for the data plan i had to buy a WIND wifi card (a portable hotspot device smaller than an iPod that does not have to be plugged into my laptop and can sit on a shelf or tucked in my bag). in terms of getting wireless internet connected and working i can’t really think of any setup that would be more convenient. the device cost $ 120 which is not cheap but is reasonable considering the performance and the low cost of the monthly service.
Cons:
— poor inventory in stores — the data stick i originally wanted to buy was out of stock in every toronto area store for at least three weeks.
— terrible customer service — my phone mysteriously got disconnected from their network resulting in about 2 hrs. of infuriating interactions (or lack thereof) with customer service. the online chat wasn’t working. emails are answered «in a couple of days». operators don’t seem to be able to answer any but the most basic questions. basically, don’t expect any customer service at all.
— the bandwidth limitations. after exceeding their «fair usage» limit of 5GB (pretty easy if you download any large files) they slow down the connection speed. this is stated in their terms and no surprise. but while their terms say the bandwidth will be limited to 512kbps, the reality is more like 60kbps. BIG difference.
Despite those limitations my final verdict is that they still offer a better value than their competitors and for now I’m a pretty satisfied customer.

I had a great experience at the Wind store today.
Honestly, the store was a madhouse when I got in. There were over a dozen customers inside and 4 – 5 customer service agents in the store.
But, I waited only around five minutes to talk to someone, and in a little over 15 minutes I was set up with a new account, with the plan I wanted (at 50% off for 6 months) and a new phone (on WindTab).
Daniel S was super helpful, gave me all the pertinent info I needed, answered my questions, and hooked me up with a phone number I might actually be able to remember. Everyone working in there seemed friendly and approachable, so that’s a plus.
That is what customer service should be like.
Overall, I was really satisfied with the customer service I recieved, and so far the coverage has not been an issue (for me). I haven’t seen «Wind AWAY» at all yet. Surprisingly enough, I can use my new phone in places I couldn’t use my Rogers phone (like… the elevator in my office building…)
