Accent Cruises

The boat we were on was the oldest of the fleet and showed its age onboard. This wasn’t a problem, but the lack of space on board was ridiculous as we had to ask the next table to kindly move their tables back so that we could pull out our chairs from under the table far enough to sit down. We are slim but could not even step into our seats. The table was low and small, so flimsy, that a slight bump sent cups wobbling violently.
The main event was called the parade of lights, but the most lights we saw were before we boarded the cruise ship. Most of the trip consisted of pure darkness outside, and even included an hour of horrendous yelling from other guests in a contest for a $ 7 bottle of wine. Speaking of the wine, the $ 7 bottle from BC Liquor retailed for $ 35 on board the ship; not even the finest restaurants have this ridiculous of a markup. This didn’t even include gratuity for the apparent lack of service, which Accent Cruises had already collected prior to boarding, but which the onboard waitress insisted was extra. It was truly eye opening how a business could be so caught on making money and being deceiving to its customers.
In conclusion, I would hope that management revamp their approach and treat customers with respect as a normal business would, and not rely on making quick cash off of one time groupon customers who will not return due to a horrendous experience.

Recently did a Carol Ship cruise along with my in-​laws. Getting to the ship was treacherous as there were no lights along the pier, and for older people it was a little rough to get to the vessel. Once onboard, it was very cold. When we departed we hit the ship next to us not once, but twice. Sailed down towards Science World and then out to the edge of Second Beach and back to Science World before returning to the pier. Left at 1930 and returned at 2200 on the dot with no collision upon our return. Food was ok, however alcohol was way over priced. All in all, not sure if we would do it again. Also, cruise director was very hard to her and understand. One server, Jaime from Australia was excellent, however the other one we had was not personable and walked by us numerous times before we called her back to serve us.

We did the Carol Ship Dinner. We bought through Groupon and felt it was a good value for the money. Food was average but everyone at my table went back for seconds. Great atmosphere and friendly staff made for an enjoyable memorable evening.

If we paid entirely with groupons, I think I could have given the experience perhaps a 3 stars, but since we didn’t … 2 it is. The ship is a bit old. The windows need a good cleaning. The bathrooms needs a good revamping. The fact that we had to pay $ 25 extra to try 7 really average wine/​beer in small quantities is a bit of a sham. Everything was not explained very well/​they seemed sort of disorganized… The fact that they hid the bottles with a cover but didn’t reveal to the guest what the wines were in the end, sort of defeats the whole purpose of tasting the wines without seeing what we’re drinking. It’s a neat concept that should be carried through. There’s no form of entertainment or explanations throughout the 2.5 hr boat ride. The food was average. I did not enjoy the chicken one bit. When the best thing about the meal is the Caesar Salad, you know something is horribly wrong. The view from the ship was nice. And I can see how this could be a romantic ride with a significant other when your glasses are rose coloured, but honestly … Don’t think I’d pay to go again.

The «buffet» was sad. Their website states there is a vegetarian option (there wasn’t). The coffee and tea are very light. My piece of chocolate cake was tiny. The receptionist who answers the phone was a little rude. There was no entertainment. After dinner, guests put their coats on and we’re ready to leave. My recommendation is to go with Harbour Cruises (best food and entertainment).

No Star if possible.
Disgusting smell on the boat.
Unfriendly bartender.
Most yucky food I’ve ever eaten.
Spent $ 4500 for renting for our whole staff.
Probably spend $ 1500 for open bar.
For the last hour, stay in Granville island loading deck… Charging extra $ 350 for that???

I had a fabulous wedding on the Burrard Queen, the staff were very polite and helpful. The boat came with table cloths and chair covers along with the beautifully decorated roof. The boat looked magical! The chicken dinner and salmon dinner was excellent! The timing of the cruise was perfectly on shcedule. Overall an excellent expereince!

My wife and I did the Christmas cruise that includes a full course turkey dinner and desert, singing songs, and contests. They gave away cruise packages for the winners. It was a great night out and would recommend it.

They have a nice boat

We bought a Social Shopper for the high tea cruise. What a huge disappointment! The food was absolutely aweful. The bread on the sandwiches was hard, one of the sandwiches we couldn’t even figure out if if was tuna or chicken (even by tasting it), the pastries were hard as a rock and stale and there were no desserts on the tray unless you include hard crumbling mini muffins. They did give you lots of food though.
The tea was tazo and the tea pots were tiny. One pot filled to small cups. Other than the initial fill no one refilled our pot I was getting up and doing it myself. They had the hot water in big urns that weren’t plugged in! An hour into the experience the water was lukewarm.
The weather was beautiful and unfortunately I can’t think of anything else nice to say about this. Highly disappointing and I feel like it was a complete waste of money.

Old boats but maintained ok. Never pay full price as its never worth it. They always have Groupons etc. I left a water bottle which may seem insignificant but valuable to me nonetheless they don’t care about it. Text book bad customer service for you dealing with this co.

Me and 3 of my friends got living social deals for the high tea cruise. Two of us are vegetarian so I called couple of days ahead to let them know. Man told me there was nothing they could do since the food was «premade» and we should be ok. More than half the sandwiches had some sort of meat or fish in them so we couldn’t eat them. There was notning high about this high tea. The tea was tazo brand with couple of flavour choices at the table. The food was bought baked goods. We had ¼ of a muffin on the stand with half a croissant mixed with other random baked stuff. We barely ate the food and went upstairs to enjoy the view from the cruise. Without a voucher this is almost $ 90 per person which is ridiculous. This is not a high tea! If you are willing to spend good $ go to the fairmont for a real high tea experience.

If you pay $ 40 per person, then it is ok. Anything more would be a rip off.
The food was average — the pastries is IGA market quality. They probably bought it there and load it up on the three-​tier tray. The tea is tazo tea. You get a selection and you pick. The hot water was a bit sad. They fill the tea pot with half hot water. Not sure if this was by accident or not. Feel like they were rationing the hot water. They did gave us more hot water when we asked.
The women washroom was good. Clean and nice and there are two stalls. Men has 4 stalls, but they are downstairs and awful. I heard it has flies.
The sun deck was nice. The cruise last for two hours. After-​ward you can stroll around Granville island. Overall, if you pay $ 40 per person, then it’s fine and is a decent experience. In BC, the best Afternoon tea is at the Empress Hotel in Victoria which cost about $ 60 per person. So… if the men washroom was clean and the food is the same IGA quality, I would say $ 60 person is ok because it’s a boat cruise. However, if it is like what I experienced, then anything more than $ 40 person a rip-​off.

Had a chance for the 1^st time to get on one of these harbour cruises yesterday and it was fantastic! I think the weather also played a big part but the service was very professional and they definitely cared about your safety. The food was fresh and served hot with a great selection buffet. I wish we were on the water longer. Great place to enjoy a different side of vancouver.

Read the 31 «filtered» reviews and all the 1 and 2 star ratings. A girlfriend purchased a living social voucher for a dinner inclusive cruise and was kind enough to invite me. The original price they advertised as $ 90 for two people, but after the discount it was $ 45, then she realized after she made the payment that a 17% gratuity fee was taken without her previously knowing, which was a sneaky tactic of them. Still, we were both stoked for this marvellous experience for a discounted price.
Burrard Queen boat:
–Very outdated. Something reminiscent from the 1980’s
–Everyone was sitting by the windows which were dirty, and during dinner the waitresses and the engineer started wiping the windows with scented chemical cleaner (perhaps someone complained?)
The cruise:
–when we went upstairs to the deck we got to see some beautiful scenery of Vancouver (the best part but not in accent cruises control) as the boat was circling around aimlessly. Was hoping to see west vancouver !!
Food (The engineer said the food is «absolutely delicious» with emphasis added and in a reassuring tone)
–The «absolutely delicious» food was from Costco!
–To ration the food a graceless cafeteria man wearing blue surgical gloves serving chicken and salmon was present
–The tea was tasteless
–for dessert it was some tiny piece of previously frozen cake with just a teaspoon of «real» whipped cream
–Drinks cost extra and overpriced, so didn’t bother
The crowd:
–Around 30 people altogether
–Attire: very casual
–No one looked super thrilled
–Throughout the entire cruise the engineer guy or the director as he called himself stood around doing nothing except when he wiped the windows
Overall: 2.5 stars. Definitely glad it wasn’t full price, had a great laugh, lots of food and a great conversation with my gf Thank you for taking me :). Do not pay full price!!!

. This company needs;
1. to come under new management with a different business philosophy.
2. Train the crew and give them a raise to encourage them. There was a shell-​shocked-​ness about them.
A waitress dumped coffee on a table and she brought back napkins to wipe the mess.
No one asked how we were doing during dinner.
Misspelled our name on our table.
How were we to know that you don’t merit service if you don’t hand in your credit card at the bar for drinks? No one told us about this procedure.
3. A major cash infusion.
The Burrard _​_​_​_​_​or whatever it was called needs clean up. Rust steaks and cracks in some windows. Only 2 stalls in lady’s room. 6 in men’s which is good but washroom (the head) looked like what you’d expect if you were sailing in some rusted out freighter. Arrgh matey!
Good points;
Most of the other customers were in good spirits. The water was calm. The salmon and dessert were tasty.
Bad points re, food.
Cheap cutlery; Reminded me of what you’d expect in a typical church kitchen.
Sticky plastic table covers.
Potatoes not cooked through.
Carrots not cooked enough. No alternate for veggis.
Chicken; just chicken cooked in canned crushed tomatoes.
Definitely a budget supper cruise. We used a half price coupon and that was what it was worth. Bottom line, ask lots of questions before signing up.

Good value and highly enjoyable dinner cruise through False Creek, English Bay and Burrard Inlet. Cruise could not have been nicer. Buffet good quality and crew friendly and helpful. No complaints and highly recommend.

I got the Social-​life groupons for the 3 hours wine flight cruise.
Just one word … Disappointment !!!
I brought my BF and wanted to make him a nice surprise.
We were both happy about the idea but it turns to be a disappointment.
It was like a cafeteria on a boat.
You have to get up to pick up your wine for tasting (8 tiny glasses and we were upstairs), what a workout to drink few sip of wine.
The cheese and appetizers were ridiculous. A self service of a blend cheddar and brie with greasy quiches.
No nice music at all, sometimes we could hear some, but most of the time, nothing.
We didn’t go very far for a 3 hours cruises, from Granville Island to False Creek to Kitsilano and back… great ;-(
It was around 100 CAD for the both of us, having a discount of 50%.
Definitely don’t buy it for the full price, really not worth it.

Three hour cruise turned out to be really a two hour one so that was a disappointment. The boat is nothing too fancy with plastic picnic chairs on the deck. However, if you’re there just for the beautiful views of the harbor you won’t be disappointed in spending the $ for this cruise. Be sure to bring a jacket as it gets pretty cool when the sun sets. Also get to Granville Island early to account for the time to find parking and the possible line up to get on the boat.
5 stars for the scenery. 1 star for the boat itself.
