Beasley’s Fishing Charters

Make sure you print your day passes before you go as there isnt anywhere near the pier to print, other than that this is the perfect place for a small group to go fishing. We went out later in the morning and got skunked until out last hour, then out of no where the salmon started biting. We had an amazing time. Darren is a cool dude, definitely an experienced captain, and fisherman.

As my wife was in a conference, I was able to go play all by myself. I booked 2 days in advance with Beazley’s, BEST CHOICE EVER! Started off at 7am, had both lines in the water right away. 5 minutes after the lines were in, bang! Reeled in a beauty salmon. Not 2 minutes later, bang! Number 2. Darren is a great host, we had lot of laughs. Not very often you limit out less than an hour into the trip! Book with Beazley’s, you won’t regret it!

We went for a staff day out on the water with 8 of us and had a great time. Beasley’s has two seriously equipped fishing boats so this was no problem for Darren’s company.
It was an absolutely beautiful day but a little slow for fishing. Luckily we caught a couple of salmon, but it was the other boat!
For my part, I was in the boat with Darren (the owner) which was great fun. First off, he was working it as hard as he could to catch fish. Since my brother is an avid fisherman, I know what this looks like. He was trying everything: leader length, flasher colour, lures, bait, depth, speed, and different areas. Despite the lack of results, Darren was very upbeat and engaging with the seasoned attitude of an experience fisherman: «That’s why they call it ‘fishing’ and not ‘catching’». I would not hesitate to recommend Beasley’s — it’s your best chance to catch fish.

All I can say is – WOW.
While on a cruise to Canada from Seattle, none of the shore excursions offered by the ship interested me, so I decided that I wanted to go sport fishing — FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!!
Finding Beasley’s online was quite fortuitous! After having contacted MANY MANY other charter companies, Beasley’s was available for a 5 hour charter beginning at 10 a.m., rather than a full day charter that began at 6 or 7! I’m telling you, when you’re on a cruise sleeping in just a little is absolutely necessary! Besides, our ship didn’t get into port until 8 that morning.
I knew that Beasley’s was the «one» to book with because I received a very detailed response to my request for information VERY quickly. After a number of emails with Darren’s wife, I knew that if their customer service was this good over the web, it was going to be spectacular in person.
There isn’t ever a guarantee that you’re going to catch anything on a charter, but Darren really went out of his way to ensure that we had the best possible opportunities to reel something in! He even set out crab pots for us the night before, so we could bring those in before we went out into the bay. Long story short, we had 8 opportunities to reel something substantial in, but only managed to reel in one salmon… and like 3 or 4 undesireable fish that we didn’t count in that 8 opportunities. I’m sure the result had more to do with my lack of expertise in the realm of sport fishing, than it did with Darren and his boat! He’s equipped with two down-​riggers and has two 200 hp outboard motors for his 33 footer…(I think that’s what it was). Darren trawled in accordance with the tides and the winds… now, if that’s not a good fisherman, I really don’t know what is!
In sum, if you and up to three friends want to go out into the Bay to fish for Halibut and Salmon, see Darren! If you’re interested in Dungies (as he calls them), he’ll even set the traps out for you. Darren really knows his stuff, and knows how to treat his clients! He even did what he could to help me figure out how to get our crab back to San Francisco!!! Getting the crab here, is a whole different story!
