We’ve taken our dog there 3 or 4 times. It doesn’t look like much and it’s a bit smelly, but there are always lots of dogs running around who seem to be very happy and it’s all very visible. The cuts are always great. Michelle isn’t the warmest or cheeriest person, but she’s always professional and clearly knows what she’s doing. I can see why some reviewers are a bit put off, but we will keep taking our dog there since they do the best job of the several groomers we’ve tried in Vancouver.

Michelle and her staff are AMAZING.
They don’t waste their time making the reception area pleasing to the owners eyes, it really is very simple and basic. However your dog will come home looking like they’ve spent the day in the highest end spa you could imagine.
My dogs always come home smelling and looking perfect, and very tired. Unlike other groomers they aren’t kept in a kennel when they are waiting for their treatment — they get to run around and play with the other dogs!

Be warned!
Good hair cuts but the owner is jaded and quite abrasive, I first suspected it when my westie started becoming quite frightened any time we would get close to this place but had never been afraid of bathes and grooming before. Over the summer I was walking by quietly to see if my dog was done and I caught a visual of someone hitting a dog with a pair of scissors whom I was sure was the owner. I also later found out that this shop has had multiple reports of abuse to the SPCA and have even been investigated. Though the owner seems to have her favourites and those particular few get treated quite well I hope to see this gal move on to something that makes her happier instead of torturing peoples pets.

Michele seems to be pretty good at what she does except for getting talent in her shop. I can tell when she does the cut because its usually good but when she has her people do the cut its hit and miss. One time the hair was 4 inches long on one side and one inch long on the other (flank). She did promptly take him back and fixed it but it was stunning how bad it was. Not sure how she could let something like that out of her shop. Some times the belly gets shaved and some times it doesnt. Not real consistent. The wife likes her but I think I’ll find somewhere else to bring him next time.
Oh ya, when I picked him up last time drank a bowl of water when he got home. Because this is out of character for him I would look for a bowl of water before you drop your loved one off.

We use Michelle for grooming and she does a great job. Our dog came back looking wonderful, and at a really good price. It really didn’t take very long, so I can’t say I have any experience with (or concerns about) his welfare while he’s there.

I have been sending my dogs to Artistic Styling for years. Michelle, the owner, is great with dogs! My dogs always looked great. They always enjoyed their time there!

Michelle has been grooming our dog Sam for several years now and each time he comes home with a perfect puppy-​cut. Sam is a long haired dog (pomeranian with a «big bark») and we have taken him to two other local groomers (before Michelle) and his gorgeous coat was butchered. Only at Michelle’s does he come home happy and looking fabulous. Sam’s coat is «scissored» if that helps any Unilocalers out there.
One of the biggest decisions we had to make was where to «kennel» Sam during the final stages our house construction as it would have been too traumatic for dog to be thrown in the midst of hardhats and constuction, not to mention unsafe. Michelle has boarded him before, during long weekends trips away and such. Sam always has such a great time, is MORE than well cared for — we know he has a «human» to sleep with and not a metal cage like many kennels in Vancouver.
Michelle and her staff truly care about the well being of the dogs. For 4 months Michelle «kenneled» Sam, we’d go in a few times a week and take him for runs and walks and he was always very happy, clean and obviously well loved. We almost thought he forgot about us! We couldn’t be luckier to have her and her fantastic staff in the area. Sam knows when we say «michelle» — he gets crazy-​excited and for any dog-​parents out there — it is a relief to have a superior caregiver for your dog. Michelle is it.
Michelle’s is in high demand — the chances of a drop in cut are unlikely. Make sure to call ahead to book! Your dog will be beautifully groomed, happy and excited to go back!

This Dunbar Street doggy daycare and grooming salon isn’t much to look at, but the woman who runs the shop is quite serious about dogs and about the cuts she gives them.
I’ve taken Wally here quite a few times to have his coat trimmed and nails clipped and, while he comes back looking and smelling clean and fresh, he never seems too happy with me for having made him endure a day at Artistic Styling for pets.
An appointment is necessary, so call ahead of time.
