Pets Beautiful

I brought my Puggle Layla in for nail clipping based on the recommendation of a dog park friend. Nail clipping makes my dog extremely anxious because when I first got her I (after some success) cut her nail to the quick. The owner was incredibly patient and took a lot of time with her and then charged me only a quarter of what I expected. She obviously has a lot of experience and concern with animals.
I wish I had brought Layla here first rather than trying to clip her nails myself. I will bring her back in the future.

Brought my dog here. The haircut was nice but pretty much immediately once we left he started to show signs of discomfort in his right eye. Turns out he had a scratched cornea which we were thankfully able to resolve after multiple expensive vet appointments. I don’t really feel comfortable with the idea of taking my dog here again.

Brought my matted cat and my sheltie there once, people works there are nice and helpful, price is reasonable. They took good care of my cat&dog, they looks great after.

Never again– after taking five dogs to April over the last 20 years, had a clipping disaster. My dog is clipped so close to the skin he’s cried for 2 days– and all I got was lip service and an implication it was our fault. We will NEVER be back. Not impressed with new owner. Bad customer service.

Many years ago (when I was just a little kid!), we had a cocker spaniel named Rusty. Contrary to his name, he was actually blonde. He was a sweet dog, except when my mum tried to brush him. Growls! Rumbling groans! And then … A nip. That was it — mum refused to groom him again and instead dumped him at the «beauty parlor,» aka Pets Beautiful. She left and cringed to think what they would say when she picked him up, so imagine her surprise when they announced that he was their model customer, so well-​mannered and sweet and patient and tolerant … Needless to say, mum checked carefully to make sure she was getting the right dog back. But actually, Rusty loved going to Pets Beautiful, and he was a repeat customer there for the rest of his life.
Fast-​forward to the present, and I now have Fluffy Dog. She is really fluffy. Like as in, imagine a 24 lb Pomeranian. Right after sticking its paw into a light socket (not in real life — just imagine — no pets were harmed in the production of this review). I have already put in my time grooming fluffier dogs than she for the show ring, and one of them was invited to Crufts, so I feel no need to prove anything by continuing to groom dogs myself, and here is where Pets Beautiful re-​enters the story. We moved away from my old groomer (Ladner Dog & Cat Grooming), and eventually I got tired of brushing, brushing, brushing (or sweeping, vacuuming, sweeping if I avoided the brushing, brushing, brushing) and I’m about to decide to once again take Fluffy Dog somewhere to get her groomed. I’m in the neighbourhood quite a bit and see nice-​looking dogs coming out of there, so here’s hoping that next time Fluffy Dog will be one of those smart-​looking dogs.
I’ve often stopped in to by a new toy (Fluffy Dog and siblings are very spoiled) and they have a decent selection of aquarium supplies as well.
