Bosman’s Hotel

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I booked the trip thru Expedia on my canada post visa. When i got to the hotel the hotel manager almost didn’t give me the room even though it had been paid for, simply because my visa was a reload able pre paid card. He treated me like I was the scum of the earth. I showed him the paperwork and said if he refused to give me the room then i wanted my money back. He said to get it back from Expedia. Expedia doesn’t give refunds which I told the manager that he was likely aware of and what he was doing was blatant fraud and criminal. I told him I used to work in the hotel business and I knew the issue was insurance for the room. I told him I could either give him cash or the insurance could be charged on my visa and he really didn’t have a leg to stand on. Thankfully my friend was with me. She had a capital one mastercard and said an imprint of her card could be taken. The manager agreed and treated her like a queen and gave her card back as if it was a platinum Amex. She told him her card has a limit of 300, it was maxed out, and I was the one who had all the money not her. The room itself was disgusting, the toilet didn’t flush well, light bulbs were burnt out, the room hadn’t been cleaned, the ac didn’t work, it was summer and hot as hell. Oh and the room had silver fish and possibly cocroaches.
I never stayed at that hotel again. It’s really true that you get what you pay for. No one has ever treated me like that before. I stayed at the Sheraton waterfront using a prepaid card. I was treated very well at that hotel and many others. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THE BOSMAN HOTEL. Pay an extra $ 30 or more. Your hotel and service will be better at any hotel other than the BOSMAN HOTEL IN VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA.

I chose the hotel because it was located downtown, within walking distance of some big attractions, and offered free parking. But these conveniences did NOT make up for the absolutely awful service and poor room conditions. The front desk clerks were rude and aloof. The floorlamp wouldn’t turn on (the bulb was covered in melted plastic.) The table in our room was broken; it rocked back and forth and was missing part of the its lining so that the particleboard was showing through. When I called down to the front desk asking for a replacement, and noting that we were afraid to place our wine glasses on the table, I was told that he was the only person on duty and couldn’t do anything about it. Could I maybe use the nightstand instead? There was also a lightbulb missing above the vanity in the bathroom, and the shower curtain reeked of mildew.

Ah the Bosman. I have stayed here 4 or 5 times and each time i do i think, i really need to find a better place to stay.
The Bosman gets one star for being a such a great central location. The parking is free and easily accessible. That is worth a second star.
The price, although a less then other hotels in the area, is far overpriced for what you’re getting. $ 80 for a dirty hotel room.
The floor often has a greasy feel as you walk on it. It has the bare bones of amenities in the bathroom. Soap, towel, shampoo.
The last time i stayed there, housekeeping walked right in without even knocking. Very rude. After that i don’t think i’ll be going back.
Although i have stayed here a few times. I do not recommend it. Spend the extra $ 10-​$ 20 and stay somewhere clean.
