Great experience from chef Roger Ma. Everything was made with finesse and the tastes all tied in together. Top recommendations for the octopus appetizer. I never had it so tender or soft before. Chicken wings lived up to the hype also. Anything on the menu is really a sure thing.

This place is one of my favourite seafood joints in town and here’s the reason why.
First off the décor is very tasteful, high end chair and table settings without it looking to flashy. Even the patio furniture is tasteful where it reminds me of patio settings in Paris.
The service is always on time, friendly and very useful when it comes to adding items to an existing order.
I have eaten here on numerous occasions so this review is not for one particular visit: the fresh oysters are the best in the city. They also have a burger that you can order which is not on the menu; which is unbelievably delicious. I also always asked for the smoked mayo which is a great condiment for any meal.
Needless to say I’m a regular here and can’t get enough of the fresh seafood here.

Great oysters. Wonderful staff. I wore jeans and did not feel out of place. My entire meal was excellent.

Great for happy hour after work!
We had their $ 1 oysters… seeing the reviews thought they were great but they didn’t seem that fresh, it was really fishy and salty today, but what I also really didn’t like was how it has so much shell bites in the oyster.
The chicken wings were good, a bit on the sweeter side, Korean dog, was alright, we think it needed a kick to it.
Great for drinks if you like ginger beer, try the ginger mule that was worth it.
Giving it 3 stars cause of the oysters. — service was great, friendly server, we were greated right away.

1) Crispy chicken wings ($ 10) — super delicious sweet and sour sauce. crispiness level — deep fryer. Portions could stand to be a bit bigger (only came with 4 pieces).
2) Oyster ($ 1!) — the oysters were quite fresh. Big and meaty. I prefer smaller ones, but that’s just me.
3) Stanley park brewery tasters ($ 5) — what more do i need to say.
When: Friday — 5:30pm. No wait for patio but indoors was packed.
Where: The inside had an classic bistro vibe. The patio was quite empty as it was a bit chilly outside but it was heated.
One thing worth mentioning — it took a while for the food to come out — but our nice waitress checked in on it for us several times!

I had a rather disappointing experience here yesterday afternoon (Sunday). I decided to stop in for a quick happy hour snack before my appointment nearby. I was seated quickly and I ordered a half dozen oysters. A few minutes after me, a few more tables of two-​tops were seated nearby. 20 minutes later my oysters still hadn’t come yet and frustrating enough the tables that were seated after me had already received their food. This was at 3 – 3:30pm and it wasn’t busy yet. Worried about running late for my appointment, I managed to flag my server down and explained to her the situation. She did apologize and went to go check on my order and brought them out. By now I was running really tight on time so I had to hastily suck them back, settle up and make a mad dash to my appointment. This is the second time the service has been a bit shoddy and because of that, I don’t see myself returning again. Some other great buck a shuck options in the downtown area: Oyster Express, Coast, Joe Fortes, Chewies, Rodney’s ($ 1.5/oyster).

I went to dinner at boulevard while I was in town and had an absolutely spectacular experience! The restaurant itself is lovely and the service is super quick, nice, and accommodating.
I got the clockwork orange cocktail, which was very sweet (and just my style). We split the mussels appetizer. The mussels were so fresh. The sauce was a bit garlicky, but still tasty. I got the spaghetti entrée with clams and shrimp. It was delicious! The clams and shrimp were so tasty, while the spaghetti and tomato sauce tasted so fresh with the perfect amount of basil. My boyfriend got the sablefish, which is probably my new favorite kind of fish. It’s so light, doesn’t taste fishy at all, and has the most pleasant texture. I understand why it’s often called a butterfish! We split the chocolate soufflé for dessert and it made my life. It was so rich and moist and wonderful!
I honestly don’t have a single complaint about this dining experience. Every aspect of it was wonderful. I would highly recommend for anyone to give this place a shot!

I went for the Happy Hour.
Raw Oyster is $ 1 each (must try), it’s sooo fresh & delicious.
The clam chowder ($ 9) was amazing and it’s worth the price. It has been the best Chowder I had from the past.
I didn’t really like the hot dog ($ 10)…didn’t like the special ‘beef”…
Service is good, it’s worth to try if you haven’t been to this restaurant before as the decorations look beautiful~~~

Okay… the food definitely deserves four maybe even 5 on a good day. BUT. I’m rating the overall experience as well as food. The food was good! Great choices for happy hour. However, the service could have been a lot better. The hostess greeted us and tell us to seat ourselves anywhere (she pointed in like 3 different directions)…umm okay it was a big dining area with multiple rooms. After picking out our table, we were told to move because apparently it was a reserved table but there was no sign saying it was reserved or anything… it was just so annoying how unhelpful the hostess was. There was just a stuck up vibe radiating from the hostess. I won’t be back.

The happy hour was great but the lady who were waiting at the door were so rude it really just made me want to leave as soon as we got our food which is exactly what we did. I watched as the ladies were sweet and smiley to the white people who walked in dressed fancy and literally just pointed at open seats and told the Asian families they can seat themselves without a single smile or glance. They were incredibly stuck up I could not believe it.
The server was great but the hostess ruined the whole thing for me.
An establishment should be treating all customers equally.

Went during lunch with colleagues. Easy parking as they provide valet service just up front. The décor was beautiful with a nice ambiance. A lot of options on the lunch menu that I wanted to try but I got the spaghetti alle vongole which was delicious! The bite size corn bread they give you in the beginning was really good! We ordered bottles of wine and oysters to share. The servers are really good about refilling your glasses without needing to ask each time ;) However, the crème brûlée was disappointing and we asked them to take it back.
Overall experience, I would go back again and definitely recommend others to go.

Came down town for the evening with friends and started at the Boulevard for Happy Hour before moving on the our next location. It was a Sunday evening and the place was very busy. Love the way the place has been decorated, really has a nice ambience and feel to it. The selection of drinks and food for the happy hour is very good.
Will definitely be coming back to stay for dinner next time. If we didn’t have reservations already booked, we would have stayed longer.

Over the holidays, I had a chance to try this snazzy, chic restaurant in downtown. Boulevard is located inside the Sutton Place Hotel right across from the theater. Valet parking is available for $ 18 or you can find street parking around the area. Though I had so much trouble finding a parking space on the street so I ended up having to Valet… bleh
The décor is sleek and modern with a very spacious layout. Service was on & off, the lady who served us was awkward at times.
Food was wonderful here and presented very nicely, though a little pricey for what you get that’s for sure. We had the Crispy Chicken Wings — very crispy with a light fish caramel sauce. Seafood tower for two $ 60 — fresh oysters, snow crab legs, shrimp (pretty big), chilled mussels, small portions of: tuna tataki, shrimp ceviche, and a crab louie salad (which was quite delicious) and a basket or random crackers and chips. Good amount of seafood in the tower and filling for two small girls as an «entrée».
For dessert we had affogato parfait which was surprisingly delicious and very flavourful with a bitter and sweet taste! Our bill ended up being pretty pricey… $ 250 for two people, but we also slinged back a handful of shots and had a few drinks each. probably not the best idea but, hey it was a celebration!

Great for happy hour!
I was having oyster cravings (I know, oyster cravings in the middle of winter). My friend recommended this place. I was very impressed by the quality of the cocktails and how affordable they are. Oysters were served fast, in comparisons to other buck a shuck places. I will definitely go back!

Pretty good! For a table of 5, we started off with the seafood tower for 4 people which was definitely enough food for all of us. Compared to other towers (Blue Water, Joe Fortes, etc.) this tower was definitely comparable in the amount of food and for the price. Highly recommended!
Dragonboy and I weren’t very hungry (it was an early dinner) so we ordered the beef carpaccio and mussels to share. Beef Carpaccio was good — nothing to write home about. But OMG, the mussels delicious. We had over a dozen mussels which was pretty good considering it was off the appetizer menu. But the broth… wow. Good thing they give you complimentary bread. The broth was so rich and buttery. Definitely the best we’ve had in a while.
Overall a great experience. Sometimes restaurants associated with hotels don’t get the best rep, but Boulevard has proven to stand out on it’s own. Will definitely be coming back.

Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar features a 3pm-​6pm happy hour with a $ 6-​$ 10 lounge menu.
Space and ambiance is nice and bright. Like many restaurants, happy hour means you are banished to the bar and high top bar seating area, which always annoys me when the rest of the restaurant is empty. Humph.
Totally forgot to check my friend’s Unilocal review first, or I would have avoided the olives. Price for portion is of course atrocious, but when you walk into hotel dining pretty much anywhere you can always expect that.
Crispy Chicken Wings ($ 10 for 4 during happy hour; normally $ 16) fish sauce caramel, sambal chili, pickled vegetables
–You can see the token pickled vegetables, but they do help with the unrelenting sweetness here.
–Generously coated with sauce.
–Not spicy-​hot at all despite the mention of chili.
–Whatever the interesting ingredients, these are basically wings in sweet sauce. Not significantly better than, say, honey garlic wings to be worth $ 2.50 per wing. Other than that, crispiness was good, taste is excellent — enough to save their rating despite the olives.
–Decent sized wings, unlike many places where «wings» means really tiny wings chopped off baby pigeons or something. These aren’t huge either, but at least respectably sized. Therefore, the price is more like $ 1.25 per wing. Which is still atrocious.
Crispy Stuffed Olives ($ 6 for 10 olives during happy hour; normally $ 8) anchovies, ricotta, spiced citrus aioli
–Not as sour as «regular» olives, if you are worried about that.
–Total fail. Anchovies? Ricotta? Citrus? Spice? Where was all that?
Service felt efficient but cold. Maybe it’s because I was just there for happy hour and didn’t order drinks (non-​alcohol drinkers are always second-​class citizens in bars and restaurants, I guess).

When we saw the offer for the Southern-​style Sunday Boil, we enthusiastically snatched the tickets online. On the day-​of, we arrived early and was mesmerized with beautiful long-​table patio set-​up and soft Mediterranean music in the background.
«The Bub» from Haywire set us off to a good start, and with it as social lubricate, socializing with our fellow dinner mates was very pleasant.
We enjoyed the iceburg wedge salad with crumbled blue cheese, chives, pickled cherry tomatoes. It was almost a ¼ of a slice of an entire ice berg and we quite enjoyed the salad dressing.
Given the rest of the meal is served family-​style, of course everybody was secretly and openly assessing «how-​much-​can-​my-​neighbor-​eat» and «therefore-​am-​I-​at-​an-​advantage/​disadvantage» LOL. But when the big pot came pouring food down the plate, we were sure everyone will be well fed and full. The main course consisted of: crawfish, jumbo prawns, clams, mussles, dungeness crab, potatoes, corn drawn garlic butter, crumbled chorizo sofrito, spicy remoulade and green goddess sauce bacon and jalapeño jack cheese cornbread skillet.
Everything tasted fresh, and the sauce was so delicious that I couldn’t stop sucking my fingers. My favorites were the crab and the prawn and I find the crawfish extremely difficult to eat and they seemed hard to clean as well (there were some dirt on the legs).
Dessert was simple but delicious: BC blueberry crumble and elderflower ice cream which elegantly draw a close to this dining experience.
Given such great turnout and good feedback, it’s likely that Boulevard might offer this again next year. I might come back to try the happy hour menu as well!

Came here for a business lunch, and was quite excited to give it a try. I left really pleased with the food, the service, the atmosphere.
Finding the «front door» to the restaurant is a bit tricky. My boss and I walked to the back alley, then back through the hotel into a lounge before we awkwardly stumbled into the restaurant, but when we did I was instantly pleased. The room is so bright and airy, and the small attention to details was impressive to me. Boulevard reminded me of a luxe european café, with the soft colour palette, the wallpaper, and the oversized upholstered booths. So comforting.
The service was impeccable when we walked in — a lady came up and immediately checked my coat and scarf. We found part of our lunch group and settled into the booth. Again, lets talk about how huge these booths are. We were having lunch for 4 and we could have easily fit another 4 people in the booth. We had so much space between us, it was mildly comedic but also a nice refreshing change from being squished into a small space.
The menu looked phenomenal and I was having the hardest time choosing what to eat. I was torn between the Banh Mi and the Poached Salmon salad, and after visualizing myself attempting to eat a crusty sandwich and flaking crumbs all over my dress, I went for the poached salmon salad. This may not have been a wise choice. No — this was not a wise choice.
My salad arrived and my boss looked at me and started laughing. The salad presentation was stunning — a jenga block of romaine hearts, encircled with rounds of olive oil poached wild salmon in a light crusting of fresh dill. A romaine leaf balanced on the top of the jenga stack, filled with a maple oat crumb. Staggered between the poached salmon rounds were perfectly sliced baby potatoes, and the whole beautiful creation was doused in a light saucy dijon salad dressing. I tried to dig in and the jenga block of salad teetered. I just started to laugh.
To get to the point — the salad was DELICIOUS. That olive oil poached salmon was phenomenal, and texturally with the oat crumb, the fresh romaine leaves and those starchy potatoes, it was a perfectly balanced (jenga pun intended) dish. The awkward ability to eat it may have resulted in a splatter of salad dressing on my colleague’s pants which I awkwardly pretended I did not see, and feigned innocence when said colleague discovered it. …Oops.
Regardless — the food was divine, the space is stunning, and the large booths allow for a nice amount of privacy for business meetings. I would definitely recommend this spot for a business lunch, and can see it being a nice romantic spot for a date as well.
Just make sure you practice proper napkin placement.

This place, is, first of all, very beautiful inside. I felt like I had stepped back in time to a swanky club where Dick Tracy would go to investigate mobsters. It is clean and whitewashed inside and you can see the lights of the pretty hotel entrance flickering on outside through the large windows.
We both started out with the clam chowder, which was very fresh and infused with dill — a spice I’ve never encountered in clam chowder before. It was delicious and with the dill, strangely light feeling.
For the mains: my husband got a delicious scallop dish and I ordered a spaghetti vongole dish with shrimp, in addition to the usual clams, that was in the most incredible tomato sauce I’ve probably ever eaten. If you like pasta a la vongole, this is definitely a version to try.
We finished with the tiny pastries plate and it was a great way to cap the meal.

Walked in at noon on a Saturday with no wait. This place was fancier than I thought. We glanced at the menu and immediately wanted everything! I ordered the grilled duck sausage pizza. It was thin, smeared with carbonara sauce and topped with sausage, kale, parmesan, and two eggs. This was so good! The sausage was very flavorful.
I wanted to try my friend’s burger, but it was too messy. So i just tried a French fry and it was really good! It was hand cut with the skin left on, and sprinkled with salt. It was tasty.
