I’ve been here twice already but haven’t had the Phở yet. Perhaps next time. I’ve had the House special sandwich — wish it had more… meat? or filling in the sandwich. I’ve tried the shrimp salad rolls, which is ok — wish it has a little more greens than vermicelli and sprouts in the roll. Due to the lack of other greens in the salad roll, I really noticed the mint leaf up in there. Great service with a smile though.

I like phở. A lot. The only soup-based noodle dish that I prefer is ramen and that’s only by a little bit. I’m not sure if it’s because I was a bit under the weather from traveling for almost 24 hours, but eating at CPT was almost impossible. My boyfriend got the rare beef phở and I got a meatball phở. They both came out pretty quickly and I noticed that the phở looked different than what I was used to. It was darker, murky, and had more oil spots. That didn’t sit well with me. I’ve read about phở enough to know that it should be pretty clear. It’s a part of the whole«skimming and simmering» process. If you don’t skim off the excess gunk in your broth it winds up tasting weird. I took my chances and taste-wise the phở was fine. Not bad or good, but eventually that oiliness got to me and I had to quit with about 75% of my dish remaining. The bf didn’t mind it though and wound up eating more than half of his fairly large serving. For a place that was only 16CAD total it could definitely could’ve been worse, and maybe if I’d been feeling better I could’ve eaten more, but for now I can’t see myself coming back here.

I ordered #12 Rare Beef with tendon and tripe(small $ 7.50) it tasted alright. Soup was too oily in my opinion. Rare beef slices and tripe were good. I could hardly find some tendon in it maybe tiny pieces. Fast and friendly service. You need to walk from the counter to kitchen to use bathroom if needed. They do have wifi and their phone number 6045599293 is the password.(It’s posted on the wall by the counter) They only accept cash and debit.

I’ve eaten here twice and I’ll be visiting weekly if not maybe twice a week! I echo the same statements that many have already made. I can’t get the butter beef off of my mind– I want to live off of just eating that! The sauce is tangy and addictive and the beef is soft and melts in your mouth. I had a small rare beef phở and it could’ve been a large if I didn’t know any better. The portions are generous and everything on the menu is under $ 10. I’ve gone only for dinner and the server/owner is wonderful and so friendly. He hums along with the music(he asked me if I liked the music and I said yes and I also told him that I enjoyed that he sang and hummed along, too!) and he takes pride in the food that they make. Simply put, the food is delicious and affordable, the service is absolutely friendly, and the environment is clean and tidy. This is a welcomed addition(and a nice break from all of the hipstery stuff) to Mt Pleasant and I hope they will stay.

Originally liked this spot a lot. The following two experiences change my mind. First time I had the subs and thought okay I’ll try this place again. Second time I tried the vermicelli with spring rolls to go because I’m on my lunch break. When I opened it there was HAIR on the spring roll. A second HAIR I found after eating half the bowl. I still had hope this place could be good and went a third time. Ordered the vermicelli with veggie spring rolls, opened it at the office and there was a long HAIR in the whole spring roll! Cut up so there was a hair deep fried into each piece. The ladies don’t wear hair nets there and are constantly touching their faces. I watched after I found the original hairs. HAIR is the most unpleasant thing to find while eating. Will not return.

I got the spicy noodle soup. So much flavour and it’s extremely affordable! Good go-to food for rainy, gloomy days.

The happiest restaurant owner I have ever met just delivered rare beef phở, on this cold and rainy night, to this sick girl’s door. How can I not give this place 5 stars?! We also got some lemongrass chicken and a banh mi. All thumbs up and all generous sizes and such great prices.

4.5 stars without a doubt. This is a fabulous family owned joint and I would recommend it to anyone. I ordered the bun bo hue and it was priced very fairly compared to other places(I think it was $ 7.50 for a small, and even that portion size was very generous). The taste was very nice and clean and it totally satisfied my cravings. My boyfriend ordered a vermicelli bowl and was stuffed. The portion was huge and there was plenty of variety in the dish. The place is small but turnover is fairly quick among tables. We had a wonderful and satisfying meal, and our bill came to LESS than $ 20WITH tax and tip. Definitely one of our new go to’s in the area — not to mention they also do free delivery with a minimum $ 25 order(cash only).

Boom! Officially bumped my rating up to 5 stars… here’s why. Now that I’ve frequented a handful of other Vietnamese restaurants, I feel that I can make a more objective review of this place. It’s time for a phở-down(…get it?). The quality of phở and banh mi is similar to other places I’ve tried around town. Maybe a bit better, but pretty similar. The real kicker here is the value for your money, and the super friendly staff. I love these people . It only took us about 10 minutes to drive here out of the CBD and find free parking, always a bonus. I usually get a small phở($ 7.5) and add extra veg for $ 1.5. I’m always stuffed and have a small bowl to take home for a snack later. The Banh Mi is only $ 3.5, and its killer! Very aromatic, and the meat is nicely marinated. The buns were also super fresh, hopefully they are always like that. This is definitely my go to Vietnamese place, and I’m stoked to come back.

We enjoyed a late night meal with family. There were seven of us and we lucked out with the two tables of 4 being empty when we stepped in. Our server rearranged the tables for us to be seated as a group. I ordered the Vietnamese style staking beef with rice. The portion size was large for the price. However, I wished there was a tad more sauce on the beef so that I can mix the sauce with the rice. I also tried some of the appetizers. The deep fried spring rolls were perfection. I like how rice paper wrappers was used instead of the Chinese style spring roll wrappers. The filling was tasty. The salad roll was good as well and there was plenty of peanut sauce. The marinated butter beef also very good. Service was great. Our server brought over sharing plates and refilled tea promptly. Food arrived in reasonable time.

I ordered a few things and they delivered it to me an hour late. Not only that, their phở wasn’t amazing and their spring roll was burnt. That’s all i’m gonna say.

Had the #27BBQ chicken & spring roll on vermicelli. Had raw veggies on side. Though i think cucumbers were pickled already. Was impressed with the bean sprouts. Possibly one of the freshest i ever had. Though not busy, kitchen quite slow. Points for being tasty & filling. Will return.

Very affordable and incredibly kind service. 3 Stars for me just because I’m not a phở fan. But 4 Stars likely for anyone else.

Little phở place off Broadway just past MEC. The place isn’t small but there’s only 2 tables that can accommodate a party of 4. We had friendly service and the food was really good. My favorite was the butter beef with fried garlic and peanuts. I could have that again and again. The peanut sauce they had for salad roll was a real peanutty sauce, not hoisin sauce which we all appreciated. We will be back.

Awesome authentic Vietnamese restaurant! The flavours were on point and took me back to Hanoi. The owner is super friendly and prices very reasonable. I recommend #9, the phở with rare beef. I usually pay a couple dollars for extra vegetables in my phở, well worth it. My friend ordered the chicken curry which smelled fantastic! The owner is super friendly and always has he biggest smile! I love supporting such passionate and friendly restauranters– We will be back! Update: I have come back to try the bahn mi– which is only $ 3.50 for your choice of bbq pork or chicken. A steal, even in Mount Pleasant! If you haven’t check out this gem, make sure to swing by next time you’re in the area.

New PHO joint in Mount Pleasant!!! The Bun Bo Hue I ordered was pretty darn good! The soup came out piping hot and was not overly spicy which I appreciated. The small seemed a bit too small for me so if you’re hungry I’d suggest going for a large or getting some appies. Speaking of appies, $ 8 for a big plate of delicious buttered beef was definitely worth it! The service was a bit slow but seeing as he was the only one there(and we weren’t in a rush) we were fine with it. They only opened 5 weeks ago so hopefully they’ll be adding another server/cook to the team so the dining in experience might be a little better! With that said, I’m excited to order more items from them such as shaking beef(luc luc) and the Viet subs are only $ 3.50! It’s close to home so I will definitely take advantage of their free delivery(min. $ 20)!

Usually when a new restaurant just opens with these spectacular reviews by those with 0 or 1 reviews, I’ll be hesitant – but I am a Vietnamese connossieur, so passing by this place wasn’t an option. Thankfully, not a hole in the wall but one that will do better than its counterparts due to its more attention to décor as well as quality of beef. Not only thicker than thinly-sliced but better quality and taste. Ordered my usual with lots of tripe, tendon & flank, good broth. Too bad they ran out of meatballs at 7:30pm on a weeknite so it’ll be another good excuse to return. One unique item for its phở was adding red onions, on top of the usual green onions, cilantro, steamed sprouts. Nice touch as long as you’re not seeing any more clients. Smart that they open til 10pm, take some action away from that congee across the street. Just debit though. Back to the décor, the wood floors are a nice touch, something their competitors can learn a thing or two.
