The saganaki here is incredible. I could eat three plates and you can really taste the brandy. Our waitress was delightful. I really liked sitting on the patio which was roomy and comfortable. Nice and quiet out there for intimate conversation on a Sunday afternoon. The drink specials were decent too. I think I would come back for the saganaki alone. I don’t even remember what else I ate because that was such a winning dish.

One of the best spots in town to grab a late night cocktail by one of the fabulous bartenders or a night out with that special someone. The food is fabulous and there is something for everyone’s taste on the menu.

Truly love the happy hour specials here! I got to enjoy an Alexander Keith’s pale ale for just $ 4. And there are cold, fresh Sleeman Originals for $ 3. My only fault with this place is the(sometimes) unprofessional service behind the bar. The table service is always remarkable — the servers are kind, go out of their way, and treat you warmly. The service behind the bar is only sometimes unprofessional because no bartender(or any customer service representative) should speak freely and vocally about their tips, the guests(after they leave.) Other than that, they are friendly and do service at a respectfully pace. I do come here often though. The garlic prawns are coated in a delicious, mouth watering sauce, accompanied with grilled tomatoes, onions and yummy garlic bread. The presentation is lovely as well. Oh Cavo, how you’ve stolen my heart.

The food is good, but the service is stunningly awful. Like actually shockingly awful. We had the garlic prawns and I would give that dish a 5 star. But unfortunately the service we experienced was so bad that it killed any chance that we will ever try this place again. What made it worse, is that it was not even packed, so the service should have been more«on». This was the first place that I actually gave a zero tip. Even for the worst service I’ve ever had, I still tipped at least 12 — 15%, but this was so bad I actually, on purpose, as a point, gave zero.

Great food, well-served. The nachos were more than most appies so we assumed a group-sized plate. Nope. Single appie size only. This place would get lots of stars except for all the cigarette smoke that seemed to particularly waft in whenever the door to the kitchen opened. Not worth it to feel sick all the rest of the night and next day. Great place if smoke doesn’t bother you though.

Love the décor. Clean, foggy and chic. Service is great and fast. Crowd is cool mixed age and ethnicity. Music is my type of choice. Food delicious. Only issue is, tv only on sports channel. Can’t type anymore, tipsy ;) overall, good vibe with my company

Some of the best western food I’ve had. I usually come here for brunch more often then dinner. Their brunch menu always tastes great. I usually get the smoked salmon benedicts. The potatoes were well salted and flavourful, and lots of hollandaise sauce ontop of the pouched eggs. 4 stars because the portions got smaller, and the service isn’t top notch.

It’s by no means a classy bar and we went in knowing that. However there were some key issues. 1) All of us at our table were served our food 15 minutes apart. When I asked where my friends pizza was, my server rudely told me that pizza takes the longest so it will come out last… what kind of response is that? I’ve worked in plenty of restaurants as a server and cook and it’s common sense. You bring out everyone’s food at the same time and any basic kitchen staff needs to coordinate meal tickets. Its a VERYBASIC requirement for any bar/restaurant and having your servers give guests attitude doesn’t help. 2) The Food, hands down the worst nachos I’ve seen in any bar. I wish I had a photo to share. The photo they have of them couldn’t be more inaccurate. Pizza was ok, burger was also just ok… You’re on Granville and there way better options all around you here. 3) Bathrooms — they have one Male toilet, one Female toilet, and that’s it. So when its busy, you’re forced to wait 5 – 10 minutes every time due to line-ups. It’s actually quite shocking that a restaurant would be set up like this. So if you’re looking for mediocre service, average food, and not being able to use the washroom in a convenient manner, than sure come here.

The food is okay, the servers are terrible and give you attitude like crazy… I was so upset, I wouldn’t go there just because of the staff, foods ok less than 1 star

Everytime I walk by CAVO, I think of saganaki, that pan-fried cheese sprayed with Greek brandy. In fact, I didn’t know it was a Greek dish until now — a good few months after I’ve gone there. I know, terrible of me, eh. That cheese was so good. All I can think about is saganaki. I don’t even think any of the Greek tavernas I go to have that on their menus, which is insane, come to think of it, when clearly CAVO doesn’t affiliate itself with a specific ethnic cuisine. That makes the saganaki here all the more rare and special. Ok, enough about saganaki. Just go and try it.

While on vacation I and my wife came here for drinks and food. We were very satisfied! Great welcoming atmosphere, very good pizza! We travel the world pretty often and really enjoy when we stumble across a friendly staff that seem to like their job. You gain that here. The drinks were great and they even had live music. I would absolutely recommend this place if your looking for a laid back good time.

Solid food, casual and fun ambiance, and great service. We came for a late dinner and were seated very quickly and greeted by several staff. The casual and friendly vibe is definitely a plus and the brick walls and checkered napkins add to the charm. Our server was very helpful and attentive, and the food was definitely solid. Some highlights: 1. Lamb poutine: Great braised lamb and solid fries but the gravy was very salty and overpowered the cheese and meat. Okay but I would ask for less gravy. 2. Caesar salad: Solid but didn’t stand out. 3. Mediterranean stuffed chicken: Amazingly tender chicken breast stuffed with spinach and cheese, served with roasted potatoes and veggies in a cream-based sauce. Definitely a very good entrée option. 4. Curry chicken linguine: Solid creamy curry sauce over chopped chicken breast and linguine. The sauce is flavorful and hearty. Pastas are $ 12 on Wednesdays, which is a solid deal. Worth a try if you are in the Theater District on Granville and looking for a bite.

This delicious spot served some very well plated meals that were fancy enough to trick me into thinking I was fine dining. Being on Granville St. it surprisingly managed to introduce some of that Gastown vibe with the brick like walls. The dishes came quick and both had good proportions, though they were more plated for look, rather then girth. At their price point, it made sense. Drink and lunch specials were good choices. They each had delicious flavors that kept our palettes satisfied, effectively proportioned sauces and spices were just what we had hoped for on this rainy day in Vancouver.

My boyfriend and I visited here from Los Angeles. I kept insisting to come here since the drinks looked awesome. So we came Friday night, asked for their specialty drink, and received a vodka cranberry… seriously? At least shake your drinks… worst drink we had in Vancouver.

First of all I had no idea this place was here I thought it was Olympia or Taco Time Anyway, atmosphere is pretty granville standard. Ordered the calamari, which was too salty, but not bad Server forgot about my second drink, had to remind her Overall not a bad place. but rather ordinary

my husband and I walked in for Happy Hour. As we sat, we waited for about 20 mins to get our order taken. There were 2 servers. Both weren’t even paying attention to us, but as soon as these 2 men in a suit walked in, they got seated, and the girl gave them water! Wow! We were totally ignored. I don’t think my husband and I will be coming back! Totally the worst!

Always a happening place; our go-to place to go whenever partying up, dinner here before the clubbing action starts ;) Bonus is not just good food but of all the places down Granville, this and Roxy are the most unpretentious. Great fun to catch a sports game. High ceilings too, nice décor, went through a reno last year or so. Authentically Greek, so recommend the baked lasagna, no cheaping out on the cheese here. They deliver. Clean washrooms.

Came here for a beer. Parking is pretty crappy here — try for the side streets. The interior is dim, but not too dim. Thank goodness they didn’t decide to paint their walls black. It was pretty loud the night I went, because they had a live performer. This 1 guy would do all the synth and drums with his feet(one of those looping machines), while singing and playing guitar. Serious skills. If you’re part of a group, I would recommend no more than 4 — there’s only really 1 row of tables besides the bar. Each day of the week they have some sort of special, such as $ 7 cocktails on Saturdays, but I found most deals weren’t really that special. The pitcher of beer I had were $ 17 each. Not the cheapest either. As I didn’t try the food, I cannot comment.
