Had to try a donair while we were visiting Vancouver. This places tantalizing smells drew us in one night and we ordered the lamb pita donairs. I got the Tatziki sauce and hot sauce on my donair and it was the perfect amount of creaminess and spice. The lamb meat was very good here!

Delicious fresh quality food and friendly customer service for a fair price! Very clean environment and fast paced environment.

Used to be amazing, but they’ve upped prices and cut meat portion a lot. Still lots of veggies, but when I asked why the meat portion is so small now they said their costs had gone up. I pointed out that they’d also upped their prices and the guy just shrugged his shoulders. Too bad.

I went there the other day with my bf. I got served by this black woman who kept on giving me these odd looks as she was making my donair. I am not sure why but she lacks in customer service no smile or anything just the look like she doesn’t want to be there. However the donair was unbelievably good! I haven’t been here in awhile and I have to say they are best ever! I definitely recommend this place to everyone if you don’t mind the poor customer service from the them.

The quality keeps going down and the price keeps going up. Not worth it!

Have tried their chicken donairs twice and pretty unimpressed — at nearly $ 10 a donair yes they are big, but only about 1.5x the size(and you can find donairs for $ 5 – 6 in this city). Bland meat, sauces aren’t particularly flavourful, decent assortment of veggies but even the vegetables are a bit bland. Oh, and when you ask a customer if they can’t cheese, you should tell them it’s costs $ 1 extra when you ask. Also, the worst baclava I’ve ever had! Very pasty, dry because they skimped and didn’t pour syrup on them, and not much walnut flavor. Save your $ and go elsewhere!

Been here several times over the last years and have never had a bad experience here. The cheesy name was the fact which draged me into this place. :-) I know donar(or Döner) from Europe and it’s a bit different which my be caused by local tastes. The product is fresh mad the ingredients are fresh too so nothing to complain about and I think a good snack for a fast bite.

Absolutely wonderful! Got two Shwarma wraps, beef and chicken and two drinks for 19 loonies. It’s like the middle eastern Shwarma met subway and they came together for a restaurant. You basically build your own Shwarma from the pita up. Don’t miss out on the spicey and white sauce.

I spent the weekend in beautiful Vancouver and was lucky enough to have a place to stay on a quiet street just a few blocks away from Davie Street and all of its wonderful food options. On my final night before heading back down to the states, I decided to give Donair Dude a shot, and man oh man am I glad I did. I’ll admit that I laughed a bit when I found out that the folks in Canada had their own take on döner, one of my favorite foods. I really didn’t expect much of it, maybe something not half-bad at best. Well, this was some good effin döner, er, «donair.» I got the beef and lamb with garlic sauce and sweet sauce and a bunch of veggies and feta. In addition to being delicious, it was HUGE. I’m not usually one to have leftovers, but I had leftovers. The staff was really nice too, if a bit overeager. The guy who made my sandwich was super friendly. Anyway, if you’re in the hood and want something delicious and cheap, this is a good spot. Even though we have good options down here in the Bay Area I’ve found myself dreaming of Donair Dude on more than one occasion since coming home.

Very disgusted tonight at Donair Dude. Have been going there for some time now, but tonight I was grossed out with the lettuce they were serving their customers. It’s was brown and rotten in the display. Asked for fresh lettuce and was informed it was all the same in their bins. This is not good service. Someone could get sick. It’s better to remove it from the display and tell people that your out or at least run to the nearest market to buy 2 heads of lettuce to serve your clients than then tell them«that’s all we have». I was admiring the food safe certificates on the back wall prior to ordering, but it looks like no one is following what they are certified to do. I hope you are not continuing serving that lettuce tonight, for your sake not to have someone get sick with food poisoning.

I don’t know how they do it, but the size is just plain crazy and the taste well it goes with the size, one of the best in the city for sure. Try it you’ll like it!

Subway-style donairs. As in, you go through the assembly line to fill up your donair with as many assorted ingredients, spreads and sauces as your pretty little heart wants(esp. those purple pickled turnips that I love so much). Which makes for a pretty ample and delicious donair for $ 8! This beast took two sittings to finish. I’m taking points away for not having the freshest of ingredients when I went in there yesterday around 6pm(wilty lettuce). But bonus points for having tabouli, garlic hummus, and roasted red pepper spread available for no extra cost. That’s my kinda jam.

First time ever in Canada and I was looking for something good to eat by the hotel. Then I heard of this thing called the donair and to be honest it looks like a burrito but it is way better, you choose the ingredients you want to put in there then they close it up and grill it for you. It is basically Chipotle on steroid and it is amazing, we need to have a donair dude in southern California PLEASEPLEASE make it happen.

Solid 3.5 Admittedly this place has always been a quanity-over-quality destination for me; we tend to end up at Donair Dude after a big hike or walking around all over the city. I’ve tried different meats in the donairs and have since come to the conclusion that only beef and lamb are really worth anyone’s time. The falafels were like eating sawdust — dry and not savory — and the chicken is on the bland side. I had chicken in my donair the last time and I tasted nothing but sauce and lettuce(sauce to filling ratio was a bit higher this time, as well). I have been to other places where the flavor of falafel and of chicken had been able to hold their own to tahini sauce and hummus in a wrap, so this is slightly disapponting. The staff has largely been friendly when I visit, so I’m not sure which of them is stingier with vegetables etc. There also always seems to be a different batch of staff working. In any case I will be back when the need to stuff my face silly with donair arises.

Good quality food, good price, service is only so so. Change was given back on the counter even though my hand was out. When I asked for more lettuce I was scoffed at, when I said there too many onions I was told it actually isn’t that much. When I asked for a fork it was delivered on the dirty counter where the change was given back. Overall was good, I’d prefer to return when that server isn’t working.

Me and the ‘nomnomnomnivore’ decided to walk this area of town searching for something that would feed us, not a full on meal, but something that was of substance and something where we would really have to sit around. Usually when one thinks of portable, walkable, hand/finger food the burger or sandwich comes right to mind… I needed something different, and seeing that this place had over 100+ reviews… and favorably great reviews at that we picked up our hungry butts and scooted over here. Saturday afternoon, 4pm, sunny day, nice and warm and there was a pretty good size lineup of young and old wanting what this place cooks up! The first thing you notice walking into any donair place is the big chunks of meat rotating and cooking, and oozing all that flavour, smell, scent… all in the store, and if your hungry, making your tastebuds work and your hand reaching for the wallet in your back pocket, or your purse! This place feels like a nice clean Subway, with the donair creation bar protected by a glass wall while you watch them create that mouth watering creation that will be going down your throat! The drill, order at the counter, and after you pay… the food creation begins. After wondering what really to order, we went with the grilled chicken pita, and the first thing they do is open up the pita they are about to use, and stuff another semi opened full pita in that one to create a wrao to stuff these things… think double bagging! Going through the row of stuff they will be putting in… think of an assortment of cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, tomatos, onions, pickles, bell peppers. etc… I know I’m missing a few. but you get the point, then they put the choice of meat in. with us it was the chicken then kind of toss it around while inside to make a good mixture, so that any point of your bite your getting everything in that one gobble… it’s a technique and they do it good. At the end you get a choice of three sauces: hummus, garlic spread, and spicy pepper paste which you allow them to mix up in your pita. There is one more thing they do. take your stuffed up pita ‘pocket’ and put it in a press grill, to warm it up, make it all toasty for your departure with your food in hand. They bag it in a regular brown paper bag, wrapped with wax paper, and put two small napkins in there. You really don’t need utensils, just your teeth and some hands to hold on, and after the first bite, I realized what people were talking about, it was a perfect mixture of meat and vegetables, with minimal carbs, a very clean taste, if you want fast food this won’t break the bank, and in terms of health, probably better than what you would get from the chains, you really can’t go wrong. also this place is open late into the nights… so if you need to sober up from a few too many, and actually want real food but don’t want to pay too much, and walk back to home. or walk off your drunk-ass-ness at the same time… remember you have choices… it’s called a donair! They are huge, and as both of us ate it, we realized later… dinner was not needed, as this snack filled us up, value for the dollar, yes, without taking in the crap that your used to in eating fast food!

Gets the job done for a late, late snack… But I can’t really say that i’d be back during the daytime with less alcohol in my system… Lol… The service is fast, really fast! And they explain everything to you as you go along… I ordered the lamb donair and found it to be tasteless even after all the fillings I added… The sauces also don’t taste like much…

These type of small places are what I look for. They are most authentic and brings amazing flavors together. I ordered the chicken donair and my pita was filled with a whole lot of meat and veggies of my choosing. The pita was rather big, I only finished ¾ of it. We bought the 2 pitas with 2 sodas for $ 16 which saved us a few bucks. There’s not a lot of space to dine in. If you’re lucky, you can find a seat. But ordering to-go won’t hurt you. I highly recommended it.
