Durga is an undiscovered gem and Ray is a diamond. There are no stores within a day’s driving distance that have the quality of service or product sold here. As a google commenter noted“this store is like a museum where you can buy things”. The furniture and objects d’arts are superb! If you want something different for your home or a truly one of a kind gift, stop in and have a peek. You won’t be disappointed. And plenty of free parking!

Used to think this place was wonderful. Then my friend put $ 50 to put an item on layaway. Ray sold it in less than a month-and although it has been only 2 months total he refuses to return her money or offer store credit. We have spent hundreds of dollars here. Sent dozens of friends. Today I went in with her to ask for store credit or the $ 50. We were thrown out of the store after they yelled at us and made homophobic comments at me. Please don’t shop there.

I bought a bookshelf from this store. The owner, Ray, is a very approachable and affable character, who can talk your ear off about his trips to India and Pakistan. All the furniture for sale were purchased from estate sales from the subcontinent, and shipped for resale. Of course, this isn’t the cheapest furniture you’ll find(Ikea exists for a reason, folks), but if you’re looking for unique furniture that has a story to tell and you like Indian-style furniture, look no further. Back to the bookshelf — the front piece used to be a doorway from Rajasthan that was reset to fit the shelving unit. It is absolutely beautiful, and we bought it for sale — «only» $ 600. Maybe not the cheapest, but trust me, I’ve seen uglier furniture at a much higher price! To paraphrase the Dude from«The Big Lebowski», it really ties our living room together. Ray was especially kind in delivering it to our apartment for free. All in all, I’d highly recommend a visit, especially if the«sale» sign is up.

This store also falls into the container-shipments-of-treasures category. The owner picks up and then transports a stunning collection of furniture, art, and essential oils from India and Pakistan. Having never had the pleasure of traveling to India, entering the store reminds me of the explosion of color that was Darjeeling Limited. Those who have visited India, I’m sure, are sighing ‘you have no idea’. That may be true, but it doesn’t take away from the precious feeling you’ll get walking into this spot to smell the antiques and uncover your own colorful treasures.
